16 mins in. When the old guy wheels that red Panhead out of his shed-shack. Priceless. Literally.
Wonderful movie, thanx.
A lot of the West is not happy, but they've strived for all the "stuff". They then dont understand how country folk and people living in developing or 3rd world countries are happy and content without all the "stuff". I left the UK in 2003, burnt out aged 43. I now live 35 miles from the Mekong river and the border with Laos, in NE Thailand, in the middle of nowhere on my own family's 25 acres. Still got my motocycles and a wife and kids. Beer in the fridge and food on the table. Amen.
Mike, what a great message to us all - I follow you in spirit. That's what is great about, I mean this, conscientious channels like MAD TV - no front or agenda just bike movies and bikers old and new out there have a platform to respond so your message has been seen by all of us - enjoy your family and your beer, brilliant....!
@@nicksanders7110 thanx Nick. Stay safe. Stay healthy. Keep those wheels a turning.
@buggeroff no i could'nt. No way could i buy 25 acres. The average man has a problem buying 2.5 acres of land. I'm done with living in towns and cities. I was done living in the rat race.
And the miserable weather. Don't even get me started on rules and regs. I'm more free here than i'd ever be back in the nanny state.
Michael Hayward Yet that western way of life enables you to obtain your “things” 25 acres, motorcycles, beer, and the internet you use so you can have your simpler way of life. Hypocrite.
My dude, youre speaking to my heart. I would love that, but I have no Idea what to do for work to sustain that life. I drive truck in the states
That may just have been the best 48 minutes and 19 seconds of motorcycle filming I've seen this year. Inspiring and uplifting in equal measure to help us through these difficult times. Truly life affirming. I'm so glad I ride motorcycles. Thank you Nick.
Patrick, I can't believe me and the Colonel (Mr MAD TV) are getting such cool responses such as yours - in a world of trolls isn't it great that we produce good stuff for you to view and you have the courtesy to come back to us with the kindest off comments - thank YOU from both of us here - great, we'll work on anther soon!!
The man who started speaking at 17:47 really resonated with me.
As a young man in 1992, I spent a month in Chile shooting a documentary video. The hardest part of the trip was... coming home. I remember getting off the airplane in Miami and finding myself disgusted with the pace of life, the callous attitudes, and the constant bombardment of life back in my native home.
Eventually, I became sufficiently desensitized that I could carry on with my normal life again. But if I'm honest, I don't think I ever really "recovered". It's now 2021, I'm almost 50 years old, and as I've learned more about myself I've learned that something changed in me in 1992. Once my eyes were opened to the reality that people exist somewhere other than the United States, that their lives were filled with joy and sorrow just like mine, and that *stuff* isn't the be-all end-all of life... it was a bit like swallowing the red pill. And I've never really been the same since.
ive been watching these adventure bike vidoes the past few months, the one thing i find pleasantly surprising, is how friendly and nice the people are all over the world. i wish that would get more nation wide attention instead of all the violence and evil. very beutiful video. i just love these. awesome!
Thank you for introducing Nick, I'd never heard of him prior to the previous interview here, what a genuinely humble, energetic, sincere soul...
Edgar, thank you for that. As you can see I will answer every single comment. If you have the time and interest to make a comment I have the time and courtesy to reply.Take care
Great job capturing the PEOPLE along the way...!
The BEST corona-break we could possibly have on a Friday night, Nick! You are a lucky guy :-)
/Jofrid & Dirk
Jofrid and Dirk, I am getting a lot of satisfaction knowing that this is pleasing people out there including yourselves obviously, that we are doing our bit to entertain and thank you for bothering to give us some feedback - ok, so we'll make another, sound good??
Nick Sanders is one in a million , been watching progress around the World for many years and he is an extraordinary person.
Great fun guy.
I’m quite literally blown away watching this. I’m happy you’ve slowed down and taken the time to show us your incredible adventures. Sometimes less is more and slowing down makes you appreciate the incredible beauty of the world and the joy of the people.
Mat, thank you sir, we are working on another!!
One of the most breathtakingly beautiful bike ride films/ travel film I have ever seen.
It was ok Zee, we can do better but thank you, notes like this are very much appreciated, thank you again.Nick
awesome Nick, thank you for the video. some of us cant get and see these places. but we see them through your eyes and thank you for that. when you go on your journeys so do we. you are inspirational to all of us. you have helped me make up my mind to do my bike test. thank you.

we must all pull in the same direction....even though our leaders must argue over petty things...I can't wait until we can get back to learning about new adventures and adventurer's. I love the content and thank you.
I agree completely and MAD TV and myself are doing are best to inform and educate and entertain my friend in these difficult times - stay tuned, more films coming from me!!
This is a beautiful story. It truly sums up what motorcycles mean to me. “Motor horse”! Fantastic view on the world under a fresh light. Thanks.
Brilliant that Nick....just what we need whilst stuck inside......watched it with Tiger Lily who sends her love and says stay safe........
Thanks John and say hi to Tiger Lily, you back together then:)
“Simply”. Thank you Nick..
And too your family and friends for allowing this video to happen.
Thank you 🙏 Sir
Thank you too fella, it was a pleasure, a new film coming your way soon and take care?

Be safe in the uncertain times..
I just fell off my honda cbr xx , two broken ribs and few more injuries , shoulder contusion, but watching this video again I have more than ever a huge need to be back on the bike and I am commited to meet you as soon I could, thanks nick
Got a smile on my face , on lock down here in Uyuni but the sun is shinning and the world is full of wonderful people.
Thanks Nick.
robin thomas, the salar is on my bucket list, don’t forget to wash your bike, the only instance where I advise pressure wash :)
Robin, so there you have it - what a great meeting. You were such an incredibly succinct interviewee. You said some really lovely stuff, thank you. Your website is on that film forever ad I hope you get some work. I will be back and we will be in touch?? Take care mate. Nick
Great 👍 a new Nick Sandars film. I’ve followed keenly Nick’s journeys since early 2000’s His calm but steadfast determination is inspiring to say the least. With the added humour and great filming to add to this makes these films even more enjoyable. All done without a backup/ film crew. All the best. Ride safe all!
Richard Sherwin thankyou for your support and I will continue to try to entertain and be safe sir, good luck. Nick 👍
Masterpiece. This man inspired me to travel by motorbike and create travel videos.
Freebird Rider glad I did fella, keep going and don’t stop 👍
Nice to see you appreciating and enjoying the difference between endurance and touring. You're earned the right to 'look about a bit'. 😀
Rich, haven't I just - wow, so many years at speed...but no longer appropriate. Our riding time on earth is limited so let's not waste it going past stuff we don't actually see - sound good?
What an amazing and inspiring adventure! Really gave me the need to get up from my chair, get on the bike and just go.... Thank you for sharing these beautiful landscapes, amazing pictures and life stories of wonderful characters! Ride safe!
Henrique, go and do it - well, wait a bit eh! - but when all of this is over you can revisit MAD TV and also some of my new films and be inspired and go - you go you know:)
I've watched a lot of these travel adventure vlogs but no one comes close to nick sanders ...for me the best out there
Legend!
Thankyou fella, we’ll try and get even better 👍
Nick, you are awesome, great attitude, have a safe trip. I hope you get back to finishing this journey soon. Stay healthy and safe.
Cyrus, that’s all we can be, ourselves - brilliant to hear from you 👍
Absolutely love these videos. The enthusiasm Nick has for bikes, travel & people of the world is infectious and brilliant to see.
I could watch/listen to him for hours. More please!
Well nick been following your travels as far back when your recordings were on VHS....how things have changed utube now😊....but one thing hasn't changed YOU...best of luck and health cheers from dave

Top tip...if you can't see any trees, you won't find any firewood.
Really enjoyed this show and all of Nicks galavanting.
ryan henderson how funny is that fella, YOURE RIGHT!! No trees, no firewood - laugh out loud, good man👍 Nick
Very very funny, laugh out load, tee here 👍

Hope you are coping well in this lock-down :)
@@ryanhenderson834 I'm fine Ryan, had to cut the journey short but will resume when I can. It's a lot harder for most people than me so you're kind of thankful I guess! Any fella, we'll meet again at a bike show I am sure:) You take care. Nick
@@nicksanders7110 You too brother...be safe and be well.
Nick, thank you for making this inspirational film which truly gets to the heart of why travel is such a wonderful experience. Yesterday I watched a 2 hour film on UA-cam by a guy called Teague who travelled from Connecticut to the Darien Gap and back and had a real sufferfest. In its own way, his was a great film too. It’s so revealing to watch two people on bikes getting totally different experiences out of a journey: the newbie vs the old master.
Mark Waters hey Mark, I’ve been at it a long long time, people are kind, you don’t need to suffer. Stay safe fella 👍👍
Outstanding Nick! I could of watched another hour of this. Just beautiful. Good on ya mate!!
Seis Amigos - THANK YOU, we'll be back with more I promise:)
Good to see Nick out there once again. Been an inspiration to me... from back to the R1 around the world days. 👍😎
Well, Gas, we're both still doing it so we're doing something right eh?!:)
Whoa, that was the fastest nearly an hour of my life.
Rogue Male thanks sir, glad u enjoyed it 👍Nick
A humble, kind and insightful man you are Mr. Nick. No doubt you give as much joy to others as you get from meeting them. You seem like a man they will talk about long after you leave. Suppose we should all be more like that.
yes you have put a big smile on my face, a superb film thanks again.
Good, that's the plan Tony, thanks for getting in touch. Nick
Nick, what an inspiration you are, such a down to earth and simple person!! It's always a joy to meet you at the Excel Motorbike Show in London, where you always have time for everyone. Superb filming.
Even if you don't like bikes you would enjoy this.
Loving the trip.
Happy , safe travels
GREAT and thanks Mr TT, let's pass on the share, I get a few hits, my sponsors get a bit of PR and give me a bit of dosh and MAD TV get out of it what they need and YOU and everyone else gets a free view - no big corporation in between - love it!!

Stay safe in Australia and last but not least thank you Mad TV. I truly love your work and talent. Cheers! :)
Thanks Mike, it's odd but after so many years of being in a media environment I feel I fit and I want to do more and if we get this wonderful and charming feedback with the good work we produce, how satisfying is that for all of us sir - you get me?

I agree, what a nice channel to be involved with:)
Great to see you back, Nick. Guaranteed to lift the spirits, at the moment. Cheers. 🍻
Always sir...:)
My hat is off to you sir. The planning that went into this, as well as the tremendous work afterward to edit this is something I understand. Strong work, and a great creation.
V Star 1300 Adventures thankyou sir, I appreciate your comment. 4 hours every day filming, the same each evening editing. I think maybe we can do better, working in a new film. Take care fella 👍
Thankyou, it’s worth doing when we get such great comments 👍
@@nicksanders7110 I wish I could pay attention to what I'm doing long enough to produce something as nice. It's really motivating for what my channel could do one day. It's a work in progress for sure. Keep up the good work.
I've ridden through about 36 countries between 1996 and 2,000, so have a pretty good idea what daily challenges the long distance biker faces-particularly before communications shrank our world.
In Nick we have the spiritual successor to Ted Simon: engaging, charming, focused and an excellent communicator of his thoughts and feelings, just like Ted. This is probably not just the best motorcycle film ever made, but also the best travelogue. His ability to engage people and get them to open up is on a par with Louis Theroux. The immigration (or was it customs?) officer and the El Salvadorean money changers was just brilliant!
Motorcycle travel changed my life about 20 years ago, when I moved from Cheshire (Nick's home turf) to Colombia (featured in the film). Record breaking rides have probably been consigned to Nick's past, in exchange for insightful and lovingly-crafted films. I take my hat off to you, sir! I assume your MBE is on its way...
Ashley Rhodes excellent comment Ashley. Totally agree. 👍🏻
@@rumien1383 Thanks, Rumien! I must have sent the vid to 30 people.

Ashley Rhodes ps - I got my MBE last year 👍🏴
what a hero!!!! I have a tenere 700 and I love the machine! the best bike I ever had! grtz from Belgium and keep on the the good work nick!
Frederik, I am not the hero, I think we all are, we all ride bikes and we all maintain a remarkable passion for what can be quite a dangerous sport. Sp pat yourself on the back too as everyone on MAD TV should do so also - but thanks Freddy, if I may:)
All the people, all the landscapes and all the stories - absolutely great, thank you for this amazing little movie! All the best!

Thank MAD TV Dave, but yes, thank you to ......!
I always enjoy your films and books Nick. The first book of yours I read was your 22 day ride round the UK coast by bicycle. I will always remember ordering some of your first motorcycle films on VHS and my wife being impressed when you rang the house in person to explain they would take a few days to arrive. Morgan Blomkvist Happy to oblige sir, we’re working on another 👍👍
Nick you are the coolest guy I came across on the internet. I love your attitude, and that's from someone half your age. I have been to south america a few times but never rode a motorcycle there, will do that soon! Ride safe and keep the stoke !
Mpanada13 young man, that is quite a compliment and thankyou. Let me say that until you ride your bike somewhere big, like S.America you will never feel fulfilled so it must be done, but why not do a BIG journey in your own country first, even cheaply on a bicycle? You can do it and I’m sure you will and take care 👍👍
Brilliantly brilliant at being you ! Inspiring production Nick.
Wayne Mitchelson Wayne, extraordinary nice comment, what wonderful feedback me and MAD TV 👍

I was so excited about this leg but then I had to stop[ and go home...one day I will do Australia properly and in detail and that would be extraordinary but thanks Mr Paulo:)
Great film. Loved the insights into the Americas
Such a delightful little road trip movie! Saw another a few days ago about a terrified american riding to Panama, he was miserable, scared and wet the whole time, never showed any people, scenery or food, just his own sorry mutt commenting on another dreary day in the saddle. Your movie is good and proper, thank you.
Of course Mega, it's not a difficult run and people were super::) Stay in touch for the next one:) Nick
Great job.
Puts you in the saddle.
I like how you ask them why they love motorcycles.
I guess everyone has a different answer.
I think its the feeling of been able to get away from life a sense of feeling free.
Sometimes i get depressed and a ride is like a new lease of life.
Unexplainable.
Everyone has a story and a even better story if its about motorbikes.
Says who you are too.
Its amazing who you come across meeting how lots of different people exist.
Awesome scenery.
I hear you, get out on that bike when you feel down, it always makes me feel better, you are not alone.:)

Hi Nick, I hope you are keeping safe and well. You probably don't remember me, but I met you on the Moto Challenge Europe trip just after your record breaking trip around the world! I was 24 and on my naked SV650, having just passed my test.. Well, what an amazing experience - it was privilege to met you, Elspeth and the team and have the chance to ride with you (I even made it into your book! 😊). I definitely came back a better rider than when I set off and I've had the bug ever since!!
Recently picked up an Africa Twin, with plans to use it properly when time allows!
So glad to find this on here and the amazing quality of the production - however most importantly that you are taking time to see the world instead of just whizzing past! This is just what the doctor ordered with all that's being going on recently!
Hope to bump into you again one day! All the best, David.

Wow what a beautifully filmed adventure , really enjoyed.thanks
A great pleasure Matt, Nick.
Such a great video documenting not only your ride but the incredible people and landscapes you encountered. The 85 yr old gentleman that looked younger than his years, no doubt due in part to his love for motorcycling and freedom. The song at 17 minutes was amazing with the cinematography as well. Really great job to you on this documentary! Currently I'm outfitting a 300 versys for the TAT across the US but this gives me inspiration to do rides much further abroad. I'm interested to hear how you get over language barriers travelling thru so many different countries.
Hey Chris, nice comment...language, smile. It's so simple that people have forgotten. Be kind, show interest, listen and be so so polite and you will never have a language problem anywhere - got it? Nick
