I am (very) late commenting here. I am an OT person but I very recently purchased VSL solo Violin and Cello as well as the Steinway D-264 (everything full edition) and I have to say that I am extremely pleased with this first experience with VSL. What I really like is the amount of controls (CC, articulations / microphones....) for a "detailed composer" it's a dream (yes it does take work - like a conductor). Outstanding results. Your channel is the very best because we get VST presentations from a real musician. Much love to you as always dearest Simeon.
Simeon, I love your content. This video is great, as always. I’m also glad to see it’s been a week since you uploaded, because that hopefully means you’re getting good rest. A Sabbarh week might be overdue for you! All the best, wishing you well. Bless your cotton socks! Joel
Simeon, another great video, watched on my large screen TV. Unfortunately you can’t write messages on there. I think the last comment is on the wrong comment. Have a super dupa day 🇬🇧
Hey Simeon, noticed you haven't posted in a while... hoping everything is OK. Did I miss something? Your videos were a blessing to me last November when I spent 8 days in the hospital with Covid. Please let me know if there is something I can do to return the favor! In Him, Lou
Lou, thank you for your kind concern. I was away last week playing for an artist singing at a women's retreat in Northern Michigan, what a wonderful time. I have been having a little difficulty getting back in the swing of things, but rest assured I will be back ;^) I am so blessed to have this platform to share and encourage when I can and am so glad you are doing well. See you soon! Joyfully!
@@PraiseTracks Glad to know everything is ok! Enjoy some time off, you have more than earned it. We'll be here when you're ready and refreshed. No rush. :)
I would say they are similar, however Smart Orchestra is possibly based on the VI series instruments which wee recorded on the VSL Silent Stage. I think there is some sort of impulse response reverb that helps to place the instruments into a larger space. Synchron Prime is based on the latest versions of their Synchron instruments that bring a new depth and capabilities to them. Thanks so much for watching.
Interesting demo. Thanks for doing this. There is just no end to what is available today. It is a bit overwhelming to those of us on limited budgets. We want the best, but can't have everything! Just curious, have you had the opportunity to play the Yamaha Clavinova 809GP? If so, do you have any thoughts about it?
My pleasure Tom. Yes, it can be overwhelming as there is so much out there. Hopefully through the channel you are able to experience some of the possibilities and be able to focus in on the ones that speak to you in some way. I am not familiar with the Clavinova you mentioned as it is very hard to find a place where you can actually sit down and play various controllers. Thanks so much for watching. Joyfully!
Great video!! Question: is VSL free with the free library they are offering currently? Reason: I own Orchestral Tools and Spitfire Abbey Road 2 and Albion 1 to 5 as well as Neo. But from your latest videos I noticed the sound of the free library they are offering sounds different, more emotional but I need to know more because I got confused with VSL and iLok system. Please let me know. Thanks!!!
Sorry I am not exactly sure about your question, but let me try and answer. Synchron Prime Edition is not free but rather a collection based on the VSL Synchron Libraries. Having all of the basic sections in one package gives you a great place to start, and provides a very nice pathway to upgrade to the larger Synchron instruments that will provide more articulations, mic positions, etc.. The Hello Free instruments that have recently been introduced are indeed completely free and work in the free Synchron player. The free Celestial Strings is really magnificent for a free instrument along with the Soft Imperial, it is amazing that these are provided to us for free. Celestial Strings definitely has a level of emotion that I really enjoy. I think these were derived from the newer Synchron Strings instrument, I am not exactly sure. So VSL recently moved from using the eLicensor copy protection usb key to iLOK which has allowed them to have more flexibility and opens the future for them. You can use iLOK Cloud, or the iLOK USB key, and with the free instruments, you can authorize the instrument to your computer. I did a video hoping to help with how that process works. I hope that helps, please let me know if you have any additional questions. Thanks for watching. Joyfully, Simeon
Hi Simeon, I haven't pulled the trigger to purchase this VST..I am curious how come your cc 7 can move automatically while you're playing? Is that coming from the VST itself?
That would be my expression pedal, I have it mapped to CC7 (volume). However the Synchron Player definitely gives you such control over MIDI CC assignments, it is very extensive. Thanks for watching.
@@PraiseTracks I would strongly suggest you consider mapping that to VelFX instead of Master Volume (assuming you're not using a velocity-sensitive patch). I think you'll get an even more realistic feel and you won't be adjusting the reverb/fx at the same time. They will stay more natural.
That is a great idea 💡 I am always trying to learn more about how to get the assignments where they make the most sense. Thanks so much for the feedback I really appreciate the kind support.
Why you do not tell the people that this Libary is so much reduced that for serious compositions it’s unusable! How much you get paid from VSL? The sounds are typical old fashion style and ash try. Yours channel changed much with the time… just a cheap promotion channel to force visitors to burn money…
I am sorry you feel that way. The content for Synchron Prime comes directly from the various SYNCHRON Series collections. I think that is expressed in the video, or in the video description. One of the main differences is that you are limited to the ROOM and CLOSE Mic perspectives. Also, you can download a Free 30-day license to try things out yourself. I will see if I can get a better explanation of the differences between PRIME Edition instruments and the Full SYNCHRON versions and will update the description and let you know. As far as the assumption that I am being paid by VSL, that is totally not the case. While they do send me the libraries to feature on the channel, that is it. They do not have any input on how I present the libraries and there is never any intention from me to pressure anyone to purchase something. All I want to do is have the opportunity to share the instruments with you. I do not have much but the most valuable possession anyone has is their name and integrity which is way more important than just getting something for free. Very sincerely yours, Simeon.
I did look at the video description and have made a few edits to help clarify. I will definitely add more information as I can. Thanks again for your feedback, while it upsets me to think that is what is being felt, it challenges me to be more diligent in making sure I provide as much information to help as I can.
If you can’t make professional compositions from this library you are in the wrong industry. It’s cut down for affordability and quick access to the ecosystem. If you want more flexibility pay the money and upgrade to the larger extended libraries. If you are a pro you can afford it. You can definitely afford complaining on the internet. Do you show up at the Kia dealership and complain to them why their car isn’t a Mercedes? Lol 😂
GIVEAWAY TIME! I Ilio is giving you the opportunity of winning a copy of Synchron Prime Edition. Visit ilio.com/contest for more details.
Thanks for being a part of this giveaway Simeon! 🎻🎻🎻

I like this quite a lot, particularly the amount of control. Thanks, Simeon!
My pleasure Bryon. Yes, the Synchron Player is very extensive in how much control and customization of the sound is possible. Joyfully!🎹
Nice Improvisation
Thanks Jeremiah, this is such a nice collection, and as always I appreciate your continued kind support. Joyfully!🎹

I have the Smart Orchestra, seems similar concept, except higher end to some degree.

Nice review, but why not just do it all in your head like Mozart?
Paul, I think that is exactly what I just did 😂 Thanks so much for watching.
synthetic sound, a shame because their software is excellent.
There always one. Lol
How much you get from VSL to censor comments…
Nothing.
