If you don't know about Karolyn's curlies, do you even Karolyn Kake? Also, just taking the time to dust color and put in the little cracks in the cookies is what makes your cakes next level. Also also, I LOVE the Oscar the grouch cake!!!! that is sooo adorable, that is the one I would have wanted as a child lol
"Do you even Karolyn Kake" 😂😂😂😂 Thank you!! The small details are what elevate your cake and make them unique. I also love that Oscar cake, I wish someone would order that again, it was so much fun to make!!
I'm not even a baker, but I love watching your work. It is so relaxing and therapeutic. I now see why custom cakes are more expensive. If I lived near you, you would have a customer for life. You are worth every penny. 🤑🥰
Oh wow! If I can find it in my gallery, I’ll post it here. On the Latino version of Sesame Street it’s called Plaza Sesamo and they have shorts that show Elmo and other characters in kawaii form. I’m not sure if that’s the exact term, but it’s super cute.
And of course I can’t.😢 BUT if you look up plaza sesamo animados on Google Images you’ll find the ones where Elmo is smooth and other ones. Super cute.
Hi Karolyn, I absolutely love your videos! I've started practising the 2D figures - I wonder are the 2D figures meant to be eaten, or removed from the cake prior to cutting? I wonder if I'm not making them hard enough which makes it tricky to cut, but I'm worried that they won't be edible if I make them harder. Thank you
I think it's more important to make them harder so they hold their shape and look right! Mine are hard, but not so hard that you couldn't eat them. However, I really don't think that people eat those decorations. Kids probably do though! I tell people to remove the large fondant decorations before they cut the cake.
Love it! Also, good to know you duct tape the cake board to the bigger one when you decorated the red tier. I've used masking tape and it just slides around. Will definitely give that a try next time I make a cake.
Such a cute cake! I wanted one of my grandkids to go with a Sesame Street theme for a birthday just so I could make a variation of this cake ❤️ Nope 👎🏻 I e done fishing, word party, Bluey, Toy Story, Minnie Mouse and Wolves. Still fun, but I think this cake is adorable
Hey philly girl. Every time I go past Sesame Place i see your cakes. Lol 😂. Now if i could just taste one id be in heaven. Question even though the cookies look realistic why not bake actual cookies . Thank you for sharing and keep on caking 💜
You know that quote from mean girls where she says, “caty haren wore army pants and flip flops so i got army pants and flip flops” i think of that everytime i see you have a took that i dont have lol
It's the same as whether or not you make fondant decorations or print edible images...it takes a little more skill and has more of a "wow" factor! I have used real cookies on a cake before though and it looked really good!

Awwww thank you SO much for this gift! If you're ever in Philly and need a cake, I got you!
Same here lol, so much fun to watch!
This cake is adorable... I love everything about it. I never tire to see how you do the characters by pressing into the fondant pieces. Great job!
Thank you so much Dolores! I sometimes feel like I'm always repeating myself, but it's good to know that it's helpful. 😊🙏

I never even heard of the kawaii Elmo. No one has ever ordered that from me!

I love how you did the cookies! Tfs

Fantastico! This satisfied my ocd 😅Love your work
That is such a cute cake! Would love to try and make it myself. Curiosity, how much would you charge for a cake like that?

I know what you mean. I love making sesame street characters. They are so much fun. My grands never wanted one either. So sad. 😆 🤣
Wolves sounds like a challenging theme!
Grate joy sis
Thank you love!

Just because I feel like there is a "wow" factor when you make fondant look like food! I have used real cookies on cakes before though!
You always have such great information
You know that quote from mean girls where she says, “caty haren wore army pants and flip flops so i got army pants and flip flops” i think of that everytime i see you have a took that i dont have lol
That's hysterical!!😂😂
@@KarolynsKakes lol i meant “tool you dont have haha”
How many batches of fondant would you use for a cake like this?
I make 2 pound batches of marshmallow fondant. I would only need 1/2 - 2/3 of the batch for this design.
How tall is each tier?
Top tier is approx. 5" tall, bottom tier is approx. 4.5" tall.
I have a question: Why do you make fondant cookies instead of real cookies to put on the cake? Do customers prefer the fondant?
It's the same as whether or not you make fondant decorations or print edible images...it takes a little more skill and has more of a "wow" factor! I have used real cookies on a cake before though and it looked really good!
What did you charge for that cake? I made one with Abby Caddaby and used edible Easter grass for her hair.
Hey what size was your 2 cakes
