I'm here and I'm reading the comments. Thanks for the kind words everyone and thanks for reacting to the vid bitz!! 🍉🍉🍉 Edit: Also holy cow your predictions were freakishly accurate xD Thanks son, helps a lot!
Just need power towers with conveyor belt and/or pipe attachment points to maximize efficiency. However more likely to end up getting separated towers for those which could still work.
@@DougO_ unless they made it so those towers also allowed for longer belts and pipes. however that is why I also said it's more likely to get separate towers for belts and pipes. which could still use the standard length limits for belts and pipes.
It would be cool to see if the power switches could be hooked up to a smart storage container or just simply more machine configuration just to configure it where if its full it would shut down that fuse/factory or to even activate the inputs/outputs if its empty/full, could also be something similar to machines where you could configure the input to stop taking items giving further machines a chance to catch up on items, like if the initial machine got 200% of its needed recourses, like a smelter needing 30 ores and when it gets 60 ores itll stop receiving and the items will back up on the belt letting others receive ores, then once it goes back down to something like 15 ores itll start receiving again, this would be more useful for machines that take forever to craft items like manufacturers itll help spread the resources to boot up ur factories faster and i know this could also solve an issue for coal generators where things take forever to start up which can fluctuate the power generation and i know you could turn the coal generators off and let them fill up then turn them on, but i think it would just be a cool little config or something like that, but id more focus on the storage configuring factories power more than anything from this comment.
Dear Coffee Stain devs... I LOVE THIS GAME! Thank you SO MUCH for making it and pouring so much effort into polishing it. Also, the northern coast area... it's BEAUTIFUL! Took my breath away!
im looking into buying satisfactory but im not sure if i will enjoy this style of game as i normally plays fps games but there very stressful and im looking for a more chill game. would you recommend this?
I would like to see some weathering added to the new power towers, they just look a bit plastic atm, other than that I am super excited for this update!
CSS, Bitz is right. You guys need more recognition for the amazing work you guys do on this game and the elaborate update communication. You are awesome! The videos are great and funny as ever and makes it more fun to anticipate for the next update. Keep doing what you do. The game is already superb and i can't wait for the rest.
Putting power storage in buildings won't do what you suggest. They'll drain before the switches start turning off - this is what happens at the end of the teaser video. Per-building power storage still isn't a bad idea in case you accidentally disconnect a building though.
the priority power switches Its less like circuit breakers and more like Load Shedding. This is a real procedure preformed on power grids when the supply cannot meet demand. Certain regions are intentional shutoff and sent into a black out by the grid operator. A massive amount of load shedding had to be preforming in Texas to prevent the grid from failing entirely
Thanks for the great work guys. Something i think would be cool for power managment is a console where you can view powerusage graphs and controll all of your switchs across the map, maybe even have this feature built into the computer in the HUB
Thank you for the amazing work coffee stain devs, I can’t wait to continue my factory with my friend and look forward to 1.0 and the development process leading up
is there really a need for colored powerlines now ? without the new power switches we would need to build a dozen or more parallel long distance powerlines to a central location to power them up/down separately at that location. but when we can do it remotely, a single powerline is good enough with splitoffs near factories, and thus no need to colorcode many powerlines between that last big pole, the switch, and the factory. a very limited usecase might only be when separating eg machines and lighting inside one factory block.
Jace’s pure joy leading into the “power bottom” joke 🤣 glad to see it tho, all the folks at Coffee Stain have been doing amazing work, and seeing that the humor is still there as well is good
got back into satisfactory and decided to push past the space first space elevator tier and got a bunch of coal power with some power banks to buffer power for the power spikes (so glad i did this now, i'm not constantly running out of power or having to check the biomass burners all the time.)
@@ItsBitz good to know. I last played.... Update 5. Took a break. I really want to jump back in. 8 will be the return. I have a SIGNIFICANTLY more powerful computer and set up... It will be epic!!!
To me the power towers are more a decorational thing but I have to say I'm now thinking of putting them down solely for ziplining between my factories 😂 The priority switches are huge, especially for my nuclear power plant emergency system. I'm so excited for them 🥰
This has me as energetic as when I first started playing the game! I'm wired for the update!!! Thank you coffee stain studios for an absolutely electrifying game!! Ok I'll stop now.
I love these new additions we are getting in update 8. I think I will be changing the way I do power a lot. Also using zip lines more. The only thing I am a bit confused about is what’s happens to the normal power switch. Also if the power towers are getting their own milestone would like to see the priority power switch in that milestone as well. Amazing reaction video btw Bitz. Thank you jace btw for giving us more insight on what these new items are.
I am still rather new and still being frustrated with power grid shut-downs and not being able to figure out what went wrong. I would like a map with power grid information, ie what power is working and what is not, or where the power drains are or surpluses. I am still having fun with it but the power grid problems are KILLING ME!! LOL! It is a whole lot of fun. It is a great game.
CSS is the best game creator! So much fun, so much transparancy. And Bitz looking in his glass orb is mindblowing 😉 Thanks Jace and CSS, helps a lot you amazing human beings.
New hogs? Can we cyborg them with handlebars, saddle, pegs/running boards, headlights, and engine noises? Will we get a variety so we can have one hog with apehangers and low saddle, and another with ricer bars and high pegs? /sonotserious
thanks to both im still fairly new to satisfactory rn all my buildings are squares and im struggling to get the coal power on because im everywhere rn im trying to build up my copper section and my power and keep getting sidetracked so yea ill be their one day
with the big poles for long distance, and several small poles to split to single factories or smaller nets, there should be no overwhelming need to have more than 3 or 4 splits of each type on any single big pole.
Amazing, I'm so glad I can play Satisfactory. I just hope the new update to the new engine doesn't break it for me as I play it on a 11 year old PC 😕 love your video Bitz keep them coming 😁
Would be sad too see a green cable. Need a tool for scanning the color of the cable. A wire should be black or cobber colored. Not green or blue. Only if the they change the look on the wire as isolated cable. Then the colored theme make sense
yeah all the new content that's been showed off so far is pretty awesome, but i wish coffee stain would talk more in depth about dedicated servers.....where is the person that's working on dedicated servers an why hasn't he or she been on a live stream or in a video? even if that person doesn't have much to say still would be great to have a introduction an whatever information there allowed to talk about, please consider it. Thanks
but "Tower of Power" is already my 100 floor high tower with 10x10 power storages per floor, total of 1000000 MWh = 1 TWh :-) (built in vanilla, except for using the commandline to turn off fog for the last 20 floors, else visibility is not even 2 meters on the last 30 floors)
Commented too soon... nice things for the devs... Honestly just.. keep going, the game keeps improving and getting more amazing! curious to see what's next and I like the way you guys are handling the updates, not pushing it too fast if it's still unstable and still adding new features while you're at it
The Gas poopy columns will now spawn and detonate nobelisks when the player gets near as well,,,, Right? Also you could have a Biomass unit that is shut off and you want to jump start say Coal you could remotely turn o the Biomass to jumpstart. Then shut off once it is started so you are not wasting Biomass
there is no real need to immediately turn off the biogenerators since they won't run when coal power is online again (and sufficient). but it still is useful to do, to get a clear warning that power is too low and they are needed instead of them partially starting to work again and after a while having no fuel when needed for another jumpstart. but with the new power switches it should be possible to have some water+coal producers working all the time on the same network as the coal generators, and thus have no need to ever have to do a second jumpstart after once powering up the first coal generators.

You mean you gonna put it in a blueprint?
@@urstaxfetish1206 it's possible to make a blueprint version. but I meant the dev's making a default one would be nice.

Those towers will be awesome for ziplines, no longer need to sideskip around the poles
i always crashed in each single power pole, and thus al ost never used ziplines.
now it should be a lot easier to operate.
do we have a release date for u8 yet? im super stoked for the ue5 change
Not yet; from my current understanding, it is still internally delayed. As soon as we know, ill make sure to announce it
