This is a great movie.... I still remember the scene where the lighter skin guy confronts the slave foreman that all the brutality towards them were due to their black skin and the foreman promptly replied "obviously" while laughing straight to his face 🤣🤣🤣
I like how they were caught by white people instead of being sold by their fellow tribesmen to Jewish merchants. And how Jews are presented as opposing slavery, while 50% of Jewish families in USA, back in those times, owned slaves, while only 3% of white families did also own them.
French movie titled Case Depart (2011)? Cool. Added to my list. Movie ending was quite funny! Really entertaining movie recap. YOU'RE AWESOME! BEST REGARDS!
Similar vibe watch (qu’est-ce qu’on a fait au bon dieu) little pitch very conservative parents have 4 daughters and essentially they the typical parents who want white French Christian in-laws but one married a Muslim the other a Jew and the other a Chinese dude 😂 so movie starts all hopes are on the last baby girl who tells her parents she is dating a Christian man visibly reassuring them but doesn’t tell them he’s black 😂 I won’t spoil’ anything more that’s just how it starts but it’s hilarious and quite wholesome too actually
Because if it was set in the USA, it would be seen as offensive (smh) instead of comedy. I'd LOVE s=to see a comedy like this set in the 1860s about how some slaves escape and run into all sorts of mishaps while the emancipation has just happened. The movie would end with them being "captured" only to be told: "You're free men!, you have been for 2 years!"
I dont get one thing when ppl talk about slavery in America they always miss how did slaves got caught in first place in most cases they were sold by other African tribes (war prisoners-aka Slaves) or by their own tribe (ussualy the most ussles men/woman in village were sold ) or they were hunted by blacks who made quick $$ and sold them to white folks who needed cheap labor...
imagine the white people that were slave in North Africa and today Turkey imagine the black people castrated and sold into slavery in the muslim world, up until 20th century
Lol I know right - that would be one sick grandmother to send her young granddaughters back in time to be raped, tortured and bred like cattle simply for tearing a paper 😮
Bad french translation in the script I think Often people translates "vêtements" as underwear/panties when it only mean clothes/wearing/apparel in french
Not that it matters a great deal, but if they are in 1780, then it's the 18th century, not the 17th. This is a great channel and I appreciate the recaps - this one looks like it would be a good to watch in full!

I like how they were caught by white people instead of being sold by their fellow tribesmen to Jewish merchants. And how Jews are presented as opposing slavery, while 50% of Jewish families in USA, back in those times, owned slaves, while only 3% of white families did also own them.
Seems like a great fun light hearted comedy with a great moral to it. I love it
i still cant process slavery till date.
these mfs really did our people bad.
Many races were enslaved, get over it. We will end up enslaved by the elites with their new world order, at least they dont discrimjnate

Where can we watch in English?
I'm suprised you almost never see movies like this depicting slavery in early America. Even though it's more of a comedy, I still like it.
Thats why they went back to the west indies
@@storm4567 the west indies were french. It is 100% a french story. They live in Paris region in the present day.
I dont get one thing when ppl talk about slavery in America they always miss how did slaves got caught in first place
in most cases they were sold by other African tribes (war prisoners-aka Slaves) or by their own tribe (ussualy the most ussles men/woman in village were sold )
or they were hunted by blacks who made quick $$ and sold them to white folks who needed cheap labor...
Hell on wheels? Literally a whole show about American slavery and discrimination. Also many many others. You have obviously never looked for them
No one wondered about their colorful underwear in 1850 ?
They just though it was cheap clothes like rags probably.
And they probably though the guy's name is "Dim". Good brand btw.
What about the cellphone?
Great recap! Just the small detail of the phrase being "couldn't care less", the negative signifying that a lower limit has been reached
