As a console player I don’t care about mods. I just want bugs ironed out and more updates. As a player with more than 200 hrs…. I’m about to go back outside.
Yeah this more or less seems to be the general consensus right now, they need to step up and really get some big content updates out fast so they can retain a solid player base.
I think your enthusiasm for mods and pvp is shared by a minority of players. Most just want to play the game as intended and are looking forward for the next updates.
this is true but if this game has a strong mod community than we have in still 5-10 years a large playerbase and if we get in the future custom pve maps that would be awesome i still play waw and black ops 3 because of custom zombie
@gunsevenwhillans420 Modded pvp is not as the game intended, so no. Actually, the pvp in the game now has less players because modded players are ruining it for those who don't use mods.
I play both and laugh at anyone saying 'content' is the problem then going to Darktide...which only has content due to how long it has been around. It is like the Vermintide players complaining Darktide didn't have enough content at release when it had more content than Vermintide did at launch!
The ops side, you know after a mission you played with a modded user even if you don't pay attention to THEM at all...by the fact you get to the end of a mission and the armory data you collected doesn't get added at the end of a mission. So yeah... all of the PvE players DESPISE modders for this reason. It wouldn't really effect the PvE side otherwise but it prevents you from earning armory data which is a problem.
Saw a Bulwark running storm hammer. Did t one shot anything or affect me other than being jealous. However I can't even get through an operation without kick after graphics card update
621 hrs in (at the time of this recording) I apricate the open communication the devs offer, as they are NOT required to do so. The game has it's issue as all things in life do, but continues to improve rapidly and by doing so is a breath of fresh air. And yet even with this truth SM2 is still a far cry better then most games released now a days. I'm so incredibly happy that I will be able to use a mod that includes all the Blood Angel successor chapter markings and colors schemes as smoothly as possible because of this mod support. #Astartes mod for the win Keep up the good work Saber ur killing it, much love and respect Blood Angels best chapter btw. For the BLOOD, and for Sanguinius!!!!
Honestly i saw it coming from the start, we cant have nice things like public online functioning mods because there always will be heretics willing to make others miserable. I do appreciate that they are still supporting modds on private lobbies, seems like a good way to manage this.
Deep Rock handles it pretty well. It has in game mod management and the mods are categorised into approved, cosmetic I think, and more gameplay altering stuff. The stuff that actually alters the way the game works will mark your lobby as modified, other stuff like reskins are entirely client side.
So glad they are banning Modders from Public Lobbies. Its not fun at all to watch some guy run through and one shot everything while you are just following behind. Low Skill players support this kind of behavior because it let's them have an easier time but it sucks the fun out of it for people who are good at the game and want to get sweaty
It gives me such a fucking headache when people say that These arent modders, THESE ARE CHEATERS One is trying to keep it fair, another is actively trying to break the game Get your narrative straight
I'm hoping that it would be possible, either in vanilla or mod to interupt one's own commands. In melee, instinct is to tap the attack button rapidly, even if it's faster than you can make attacks. However, if you press the attack button, then until the attack is completed (even if the animation has not even started) you can't overwrite your attack with something else (particularly, a parry).
Oof, this take was off as of the 2:01 mark. "A non-negligable amount of connectivity issues are caused by mods" means a lot of connectivity issues are caused by mods. Negligable means insignificant. So not insignificant means it's a major cause. This is the exact opposite of "just a little bit."
So far, I only know of one time where I’ve played with a player modding. He joined during loading into the operation and when my game loaded my frame rate suddenly tanked HARD. I had just previously done an operation without any issues but my game was suddenly running like a slide show. I spent the first part of the operation trying to figure out what was happening. I only realized someone had mods when I noticed our Heavy firing a Neo Volkite pistol. After that operation I had to close and reopen the game and everything was back to normal. Thankfully no save corruption. For reference, I am running a Ryzen 7 5800X with a EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3, 64 gigs of system ram and the game was running off an SSD.
I think I have played with 2 mod players. The first had a visual clue of all the explosives splitting into 3, despawning, and repeating. The other just had (that I could identify) a power sword on tactical. No frame changes that I noticed though.
You can also get the glitch where you don't get your experience earned, your successful operation count won't go up to unlock armor parts, and any armory data you earned won't be added. This is the most common glitch when playing alongside modders in ops.
The only major issue i have with the game is the bots not dealing damage to bosses. I tried to stand out of range to see if they did anything for like 10 minutes and i saw them literally spamming the boss and it didnt take a single bit of damage
Crackdowns on mods that are harmful to the game is fair (not essentially Crackdowns moreso ironing out things just like people want but since they dont actually read it they dont get that)
Most likely just PC, Saber seems to be super busy just getting regular content and bug fixes out so I wouldn't expect them implement mod support on console anytime soon.
PvP needs mods. Would be awesome to have hundred of npcs swarming both sides depending on who controls what. Games more fun with swarms. PvP in a game like this without aspects of the actual game is boring imo.
I would enjoy pvp more if I didn’t have to grind with the weak weapons for like 15 lvs and if the teams weren’t so lopsided I’m either dropped in on a team about to lose and I’m supposed to replace the player that just raged quit or I’m on the team that is killing all the enemies before I can even get to them on the map for back up rarely have I played a game that’s evenly matched I avg 13 -15kills and 9-10 deaths as I play pretty aggressive
Maybe i missundertood your mesage, but u can have 11-14 granades in the granade launcher without mods or cheats, and the granade launcher shoots realy fast, like a granade per second, and the tactical have a hab to make more granades if u kill a mayoris o extremis enemy.
Hot take but true. If you are able to get everything you want in a game with the snap of your fingers it gives you no reason to play. This has happened to me with modding 100s of times when playing games. The anticipation of having to wait for what you want is more rewarding and keeps you invested.
@@JGburneraccount I think a good mix is the best. There are some things that just won't happen without mods but I like at least some grind to unlock stuff.

This is garbage. I understand not wanting to play with modders who give themselves busted stats or different weapons, but the devs really dropped the ball when it came to skins, though I think that's more of GW's fault than theirs so I won't be harsh. MKX armor fucking blows and we should be able to color our weapons.

@cavern6211 it literally is, see all the crayon marines. Better yet, all the people showing off their homebrews. All I want is to play with the cool looking armors pre heresy. You aren't a 40k fan, that's fine, but some of us are.
@ having the option of minor customization does not disprove the fact they design the entire game lore accurately. It’s an entirely irrelevant point. Especially when the devs have already said the same thing themselves.

That’s why I like games that let me filter out PC players out of matchmaking
I really wish they would make teammate bots better.
Why? They are already better 33% of the players.
I just want bots to be able to do at least marginal damage to bosses instead of just being distractions

Mod support is great, what is better is taking parts from the best made and most popular mods and making them core.
This isn’t a HUGE update. It’s insignificant
King of clickbait
Non-negligible doesn't mean "just a little bit," it means "enough to affect the system."

Battlefront 2 did mods right only skin mods could be used online. The others force you to play solo or private.

Oh man, developer tool based mods for SM2! Gonna be good!
They should buff the guns and make space marine run a bit faster. They are supposed to be able to run 45mph ffs.
If I knew how, I would Mod the game to replace the Space Marines with Tau Crisis suites.
I would love a 12 vs 12 multiplayer mode
