Great video! Happy to see you start posting again. I'll be moving to that region in July right in the middle of Cowichan Valley. Applied for an Elk LEH - we'll see what happens!
Great job man, I love your video's, your attitude and ethics are where I want to be as a hunter and think it's where most hunters should aspire to be. I'm a new hunter in Region 4 and am learning to brave the outdoors solo hunting (sometimes with buddies too) bears and have found inspiration in your hunts from the last few years that you've filmed. I've passed on a few borderline legal bears, waiting for a bruiser before June 30th. Keep the content coming. 🐻🐻🐻
Thanks for the comment boss. And thanks for following the channel. I have been hunting for about 6 seasons now and have a learned a lot from other hunters, forums but mostly by just getting out there and hunting on my own. Just getting out is a win. Keep up the good work and you'll get your boar. But also don't pass on a good legal bear if you get the chance!
@@skyedge6158 Thanks man. Got it done a few days ago finally. Got a nice boar that was frolicking around with a gorgeous chestnut colored sow just before dark. Lots of meat for the family and experience I'll never forget. Had great help from friends packing him out and off the mountain at 2am!
@@skyedge6158 That's for sure. Found my own local honey hole and got close to lots of bears before the one I took. Best burger I ever had this evening. Looking forward to fall already🤜🤛
Hey thanks for watching. This is a mystery ranch Metcalf. It's a good bag that also features a meat shelf. I purchased a kuiu bag for an upcoming sheep hunt as the mystery ranch is just a little too small to hold all the gear required for a 10 day mountain hunt. I will be selling my Metcalf, tho like I said, it is a good bag
Nice bear! Wish I could go out on the hunt but with this province wide travel ban in place I've basically missed the majority of this spring bear season since I am limited to just the lower mainland 😔
@@skyedge6158 did I make a mistake getting a 300 win? I don't mind the recoil and my dream is to hunt a moose, which as far as I know you need a 300 win for. will I have issues hunting smaller game like deer and elk?
Love these videos
Thanks buddy
Beautiful black bear.
watching these makes me stoked for next season
But its still THIS season

Lol ! Thanks for the support
That's some good Hester hunting
Lol what is "Hester hunting" ?
Any tips of bear hunting im from bc i went to region 7 and couldnt find any bears :( found a buncha scat though
If you're finding scat there should be bears around. Search for good feed. Dandelions and clovers. Last light is the best time for bears
Sky Edge thanks a lot brotha. Keep up the content been subscriber for a while really enjoy the hunting vids

Do what you gotta do. Be smart about it. Keep to yourself. Be safe and have fun
How long does it take the gut and field prep a bear like that
I'm sure other guys can do it quicker than me. But I work slow and try my best to keep the meat clean. Probably somewhere in the 1.5 hour range
what is your rifle chambered in?
.308

@@MUSIlIl maybe a tad big for deer. But perfect for moose and elk. It's all about shot placement to minimize meat damage anyways.
@@skyedge6158 so you wouldnt recommend shooting a deer at all?
@@MUSIlIl shoot em !!
Great vid. Glad you didn't give out the hunt location.
Is that a thing I often do ? Haha
That first waterfall opening shot was enough for me to know your location lol
I love bear hunting so fun
