    Good Vids. Good karma in clean up the cans. Do that always when/where you can. I have for 45 years and it's served me well. Leave the Campsite cleaner than you found can never go wrong. Your a good representation of a decent younger hunter today. Keep up the good examples

    Thanks for the video! As always I’m entertained and I learn. I’m curious how you cool the meat in the cooler. There must be ice packs on the bottom? It seems to me that if you put warm meat in a cooler without ice, the cooler is insulation is actually going to preserve the meat’s warmth and it could spoil. Help me out? Thanks!

    • @skyedge6158
      @skyedge6158  Рік тому

      Hey thanks for the comment! Game bags are pretty key for keeping the meat clean. I use a generic "cheese cloth" type game bag most occasions as I can usually get the meat back to a cooler quickly. For sheep hunting l, where you will be further a field, I would strongly recommend a thicker mesh game bag so that the bugs cannot breach the material.

      Hey, yeah you will sometime see it featured in my winter hunting videos. It's a great little piece of kit. The one i have is a Mr.Heater Little Buddy. It's propane fueled. That being said, I always keep the windows cracked in my canopy and now keep a carbon monoxide monitor right beside my head when I sleep.

    I hope you can throw in some videos about techniques and personal experience? Field dressing, quartering meat (night ops), signs to look for when hunting what game, weather, just based on your personal experience in BC obvious don't drop pins on the map or give out juicy details LOL, just stuff that are already somewhat available on the internet, but I as a viewer just want to hear from you. A lot of hunting/fishing UA-camrs are so tense when they talk, I can smell beer in their breaths from my side of the screen LOL. Those guys do give out good info often, but I just prefer your way of delivering info, a lot more relaxed, no stalling, just quality hunting content. You're getting 108 comments and 231 likes out of 2258 views atm, that engagement is really good. I don't know what's your goal here on UA-cam, I will still be your loyal subscriber even if you only make 5 videos per year, but I think expanding your content will bring more people like me here.

    • @skyedge6158
      @skyedge6158  2 роки тому +2

      Hey Terrishh, thanks for that thoughtful comment! And I appreciate your loyalty! My goal for the channel is to keep putting out content that is fun for me to make, and that people enjoy watching. I also believe that our "social license" to hunt is under attack in BC and that we as hunters need to do our very best to share hunting with others in the best possible light. If this channel continues to grow and I can help share that positive message, then I feel like I am doing my part. Science based wildlife management needs to be maintained. We can't cave to emotion based wildlife management . The wildlife deserves better. Good call on the suggestions. I'll see what I can do!

      For the money the Vortex Diamond back is a great beginner spotter. It's quite a bit better than the older model Leopold that I had been borrowing. I'm happy with it. I will add that cheaper glass vs really good glass could make the difference on whether or not you can successfully count the age rings on a sheep and could make the difference on a hunt. Beauty bear! Gets me stoked for this season. What rifle and chambering do you run for most of your game? Thanks

      Hey. Thanks for watching. That was quite a nice bear. Was great eating too. I wield a Tikka T3 in .308, my first ever hunting rifle. Love it

    Love your channel. I live on the island and will be going out for the first time ever for spring bear next year. Any advice or recommendations for a newbie? Do you have a instagram page or something?

      Hey! Thanks for the comment. Vancouver island is a fantastic place for bear hunting. I took my 2021 bear close to Gold River but the whole mid to north island is good from what I gather. Look for fresh grass , dandelions, clovers. All good food sources for bear. Find the piles of scat and the bears are around. Learn to identify boar from sow and shoot yourself a good boar ! Good luck 🤞
