Can I make one small suggestion? As a jet mechanic for several years, I thing I know for sure is you can't park jets on grass. Foreign objects (FOD) ingested when the engine is running ruins engines. I know it's a small, picky point, but it helps immersion if you keep that in mind. Thanks, Luetin... this video is great as always. Your videos are always the ones I look forward to mucho.
Possible solution to your artillery placement bias would be to roll a directional dice and your D20 similar to how it's done in WH40K. You look top down over the squad you want to place the marker, the D20 decides how many meters away the blast will move and the directional dice gives you the direction. If 1-20m doesn't feel like a big enough spread then double the result (If say you roll a 10 then that could be a direct hit so at least there is a chance at a direct hit). You then move the marker roughly how many meters it rolls for in that direction, could just randomly pick a NESW heading if you don't have a directional dice. It should be a fairly quick and easy way for you to put more randomness in the location of your artillery/mortar marker.
I love watching Zeus missions. It is very much like watching someone be a live action Dungeon Master...but for ARMA instead of a dungeons and dragons. :)
Wasn't really into observation /CNC videos but this channel has grown on me, because things can go either way for either team you actually find yourself rooting for these guys to win. Keep it coming Luetin09, love these videos!!!!
Hey Luetin, ever thought about using some kind of Medevac system for the teams? Would be awesome if they secure a compound so a helo can land and take the wounded/dead back to base to either medic up fully and/or bring back some heavy armor. Would totally love to see this plus it would only take 1-2 guys to fill that role. btw, awesome video so far :D
We actually discussed this in the debrief after this mission. The problem is that with a dedicated medevac system it takes at least 3 people out of the actual ground action. Now if we were fielding a group of 30-40 people that wouldnt be an issue, but usually we run with 15-20 guys for frames but also just how we are set right now. So taking away people who may not be that active is not really ideal right now... but its not out of the question and we will see how things go along
Could you use the logistic support function of the ALiVE mod to support such a task? Add in BLUFOR AI which is dedicated to that function and the Command can call in for the pickups. I am not sure how it would interact with other mods in use though. If it could be done then you wouldn't have to utilize players on the squads. Not sure if they medic function would allow the AI to heal and get members back in the fray.
LT, love the part where you put down trip mines, please use these more, they were incredibly entertaining to watch and it also adds a new threat to worry about. As usual good work, hope to see more soon.
I got a tank museum advert which is pretty neat. I really enjoyed the concept for this mission, the several objectives over an island layout are satisfying to me for some reason.
At 15:51 wouldn't that Jet be picked up by radar and intercepted by an enemy jet? And at 8:27 wouldn't that Turret gunner radio'ed them in for artillery or something similar?
I love the new medic system! Really gives the player a real sense of danger, because getting back up is a more of an issue. Makes it all that more interesting to watch!
You know I was thinking of you making a real life like situation like the enemies will instantly react to your subjects when near them. And smart like a real person would do. (Basically make it hard and tell them to be more aware of their surroundings) This is just an option.
I have a LOT of hours on arma 3 and do personal AI mods for my unit, but having AI like this isn't feasible unless someone coded an entirely new engine from the ground up, you can tweak how the AI Act like in the ASR AI mod but you can't make them lifelike, when you turn their awareness up they basically see through walls, too low and the can't see five feet in front of them. Sorry but it's not really possible due to game limitations.
Luetin would love to see some more urban stuff, like Helios landing on roofs dropping troops off and rappelling down the walls to save a hostages or kill an HVT
As others said before; entertaining video. It's very nice to see your vids where you and the players take the game seriously and act "more pro" than what I've seen myself in games. Since the ai is so stupid and generally bad, have you tried human vs human, so the defending side is human too? Your job as Zeus is then to handle reinforcements, artillery, perhaps adding ai to the sides when different objectives are met and bother stuff? Is such gameplay doable in your opinion? Regards
Idea: If they take a heli down the enemies will feel deterred to send in more reinforcements for the fear of getting killed like their comrades did. So next time they successfully shoot down a heli, you shouldn't send in anymore, likewise with troop transports.
Maybe it’s unfair. But I feel like if you get nuked and stuck in a ball of flame you should be KIA for the rest of the game. But that’s no fun so having the ability to come back even after you get toasted is really cool.

That when your guy dident move or shoot is a problem that i have too, I use remote control but they won't move or shoot and sometimes they AI still control the soldier.
How about a mission where some guys have to para drop into a compound, and then hold it till a reinforcement convoy made out of the majority of the players can break through a defensive line and relieve them?

well its not my public server its BSO, Shadow and Joko mainly work on the public stuff I have very little to do with it. Evenings UK time is the best time of day there are people usually on around that time

the point is that every guy that gets down can get revived and by the end the player casualties are very scarce, or almost none, thats what makes the mission unrealistic
Hey I have a mission idea if your interested and you think he should try this comment your opinion So objective is the enemy's have a huge well heavily guarded base with heavy tanks apc's and more The players* Will do a heavy assault with tanks , apc's etc They have to neutralize the enemy base before reinforcements arrive it's your choice to choose what are the reinforcements after that they must defend the base from enemy attack and wait until AI friendly's arrive and capture the base .Hope you like my idea.
Do you have a trick to get the mod units from CUP etc... to appear in the zeus menu? I usually have to pre-place them in the eden editor prior to starting the mission but perhaps it is different when you are on a mp server vs me bumming around in sp.

Probably. It won't run great, but it'll run. If you're not happy you can stuff on Steam within 14 days if you have less than 2 hours playtime. (It's also on sale right now.)
That is definitely not the ace pain. I know how pain looks like and rather that 15:33 looks like camera flashing. And even he is in zeus control mode at that time.
I don't think so. zeus is not hurt at that time. And if it is ace pain, it should flashing until suppress that pain by morphine or aid kit. But in that time at 15:33 the flash is just once. and ace pain appears white around the edge of screen and some flashing.
Love these videos make me want to buy the game so much but I know I can't run it on the laptop I've got so it's just all depressing but if I ever do get a good enough pc and the game will definitely be trying to play in the public matches but keep up the good work the vids are great and I'm loving them thanks

I loved the scramble thing at the start seemed realistic and very cool.
