Brilliant video. I remember this race so well. I followed Bekele's career and was so disappointed after the 2007 race. You are correct. This race proved he is the best cross country runner of all time.
English has recognised dialects. American, Australian, Indian etc. have a conversation here in Australia and you might not fully understand 20% of what’s being said 😂
As an Ethiopian, obviously I am biased to say in all my four and half decades of watching and participating in college track and cross country in college and road races with some hall of fame record of my own; to me Kenenisa will remain one of the greatest athletes in track, cross country and now the marathon; we have been privileged to watch. He is sure is one of a kind.
In a split second he would have had to decide whether the delay to put his shoe back on would be made up for the help it would give him. If he lost 30 seconds to replace it, would he run more than 30 faster than if he had simply continued (half) barefooted?
Please stop using the word (most) impossible" just as clickbait. Impossible is an absolute term meaning not possible; outside the laws of physics. It DOES NOT mean "perceived to be impossible which is what you mean. Also, you should not state as facts that which is only your opinion. Your title is misinformation.
Let's be honest tho, He deliberately lost his shoe to give the rest a chance
A solid theory. Seems legit
I meannnn... It's very possible lol
O, What kind of thought is this?
complex opinion ..observatio from dark side..
May be u too deliberately right this comment 52 like Uuu
haha that tony ferguson mentality. i like it
Not at this level
Vid well done, amazing how Bekele can stop during a race and still win. The man is superhuman
Yaa
Especially in a race of that quality. Nothing beats world XC for level of comp, perhaps with the exception of the Kenyan national championships!
Your narrating style is great! Keep up the great work!
Your content is amazing! Thank you for keeping us “raceless” cross country athletes entertained

All time? What about Tergat?
@@runcaz7802 Bekele won 11 world xc Senior titles. Tergat only won 5
The depth of talent Bekele has is incredible. He devours the miles like breakfast.
I love your trips down History lane.
Very smooth narration and great footage.
He lost 30 seconds because of his shoe? I can not put on my shoe so fast sitting at home
Haha
Yeah, he only lost like 10 secs max. Still great run and amazing athlete.
The greatest distance runner ever
That title arguably goes to Yianis Kouros, my brother
@@zhbvenkhoReload that's a bit diffrent... Here they are really running fast
@@zhbvenkhoReload nah, keninisa takes the throne
@@nick5422 lol you make me laugh at your ignorance
@@tilengavranovic758 you also make me laugh at your ignorance. I guess ignorance is bliss.
Dude behind him was like “flat tire!” and Bekele didn’t even flinch.

"Edinberg" proving that Americans speak their own language.
EDINBERG 😂😂😂
Obviously Scottish people have been pronouncing it wrong all the time!
he says Edinburg ,not Edinborrow
I guess its in the limits ,if you don´t know how to pronounce it
English has recognised dialects. American, Australian, Indian etc. have a conversation here in Australia and you might not fully understand 20% of what’s being said 😂
A 30 second deficit is nothing when you plan on winning by 40.
It’s so awesome hearing commentary about these older XC championships! Hopefully we could get a XC championships series in the future :)
I'm just waiting for comments (other than my own) on that pronunciation of Edinburgh.
I was looking for them too 😂
Edin, bro
Dear Americans, it's pronounced Edin-bruh
@@chronicism or edin-bura if you are from Aberdeen.
@@Arrica101 True. At least we don’t have to hear the butchered pronunciation of Milngavie.
Another great video! Keep up the great work!
And then 11 years later he repeated it in Berlin!
Amazing to see such a comeback
If Bekele had wave lights guiding him, he could have gone under 25 minutes for the 10k.
Close to sub 26 maybe yes!
True
Sub 26, yes it's true. Not sub 25 my friend, don't get crazy.
I absolutely agree! Same with Haile Gebrselassie
@@runcaz7802 we can agree if haile gebrselassie and kenenisa had the wavelights then the record would have been beyond the horizon.
This got some anime type shit involved, you gotta be strategic and fast but smart so u don’t burn yourself out
Greater natural talent than new record holder imho. X excellent!
Great video

He would've had to if taken his other shoe off as well though...
My hero🏃
Bekele kicking his own butts, the most complete runner... I can see him running hours.
Indeed, an impressive...feat.
It' Truth My Friends.👍
I respect your information
I enjoy your videos
FYI, "Edinburgh" is pronounced edin-burruh, not edin-burg. Nonetheless, great video as per usual!
We don't get enough xc videos
Oh so how good will this video be...
Idk bout y’all but Bekele will always be the GOAT in my eyes
I fully agree with you
I put a bet on him online when he dropped down to 40th place.
Wow
The son of Aba gadda, his people are known for being brave and generous.
“Edinburg” lol
