As the owner of a '22 Apollo Ghost & a 2023 Apollo Phantom, I'd like to know what I can do to help build their resistance. Even if I have to park a scooter outside in the rain for an hour or longer, it'd be nice to know if putting a cover over it is a waste of time or not.

I found that the choice of waterproof backpacks is very limited, they're super expensive, and most are just water resistant, so a great alternative was to carry a few large zip lock bags, or a rain cover. This allows you to pick a better backpack overall.

Use a water proof poncho and you can slide any backpack you want under it, completely removes limitations to backpack choice and they are very portable

I strongly don't recommend riding in rain as the brake pad loosing efficiency as much as 40% to 60% this is critical in my situation from where I living which is right next to Montreal ,there is simply too much car and intersection in some place that sadly it cannot really fit some people lifestyle , so again as an experienced E-scooter I strongly don't recommend loving riding in rain unless you're living in a calm area 😆

  • @nwimpney

Grooves in your tires do nothing in the rain. It’s all about the rite compound. Cars need grooves because of their big wide contact patches and high speeds. Round profile tires like bikes and scooters use can just push the rain to the sides. There are tires that are grippy in the wet, and ones that aren’t, but it’s mostly down to the rubber they’re made from.

@@Daniel_Clem It was a clear empty road, didn't break at all; the direction nut just below the stem lock got jammed and didn't turn slightly left while my body and brain anticipated it to turn, which didn't happen and I got skid on the road for 2 to 3 meters. @@AkashSharma-oe9no Sorry to hear that. But it does sound like a poorly designed or defective scooter. I would take it straight back to them and return it, not try to fix it yourself. Its IP66 rated. It should have a proper sealed headset bearing, not something open that can rust.

I don't understand e-scooter making companies.... These things are meant to be road outside... It rains outside.... The scooter is electric, so does it not make sense to develop a water proof scooter? I need one for a specific task where I'll be outside and it can rain and rain heavy at anytime. I can NOT find a scooter that is totally water proof. Not going to spend hundreds on something the rain will destroy on the first rain.
