It is such a shame it ended up like this. It had so much promise. I remember his return, how perfect it felt at the time, how excited we were for what could be. For it to end like this, all the scandal, controversy and infighting. It just makes me sad

    • @Onikage55

It's also sad because Tony Khan could have done a lot more to keep this crap from getting out of hand. It seems like he treats his wrestlers like a fan instead of like a boss. It also appears that TK doesn't know a lot about what's going on in the locker room. TK is going to get a TON of heat from the fans over this because yeah, Punk should have been fired, but at the end of the day TK is the boss.

It's crazy how he left wwe, in bad terms. Lost his friendship with Cabanna on bad terms, left Aew on bad terms and had infights with the elite and others.
Wherver he goes, he ends up in drama and bs.
This maybe why triple h called a weird cat. He's the problem most probably.

Only thing I can say is he had it coming. Given a second chance. Given his own show. Even to some extent gave him power in blocking talent AND the head of Talent relations from his show. And then this during the PRESHOW of the company's biggest event yet, and he does this.
    Hope he enjoys retirement

It's going to be incredibly difficult to parse out how much of Collision's inevitable ratings drop will be because of Punk's firing. The college football season started this week and Collision's ratings were going to be taking a big hit anyway (much like RAW vs. Monday Night Football).

Look, I made it clear in previous comments that I started to dislike Punk after his AEW debut, especially after the Hangman drama, but I also wanted him to stay around if he’s willing to set aside his issues with AEW. Since he obviously couldn’t, I’m not surprised that TK finally pulled the plug and stop a problematic relationship and move on. Idk what Punk’s gonna do now, but I just hope that if he ever considers wrestling for any promotion again, he’s gonna have to learn to let go.

I don't think a hard roster split was necessarily conducive to long-term success or stability within the locker room, but I certainly would've proposed a roster swap, where talents can roam across both shows for a few weeks at a time, depending on what they're up against on TV. If they're facing stiff competition one particular week or month, Punk can go on a short run on Dynamite and even Rampage to boost some of those numbers, and then the others can go to Collision for a few weeks, and then everyone can return to their respective places. Keeps both shows' audiences satisfied, I think.
I would've made Rampage a live show with a second hour so they can get a total of six hours of live, weekly programming.

It was pretty clear that he had some major attitude issues and things couldn't be smoothed over just like that. And even before that incident I wondered how many good years Punk would have left in the ring. It was pretty obvious that higher age and ring rust were starting to impede his abilities in the ring.
He still put together great matches but on borrowed time and with an attitude as toxic as Punk's, you couldn't really transfer him into a backstage role or a commentator booth.

Punk felt his training gave him the ability to beat any wrestler. So he didn't mind starting fights,
That self confidence made him start fights. But no body acts like this in life or else you be in fights all the time.
      He became too sensitive

Its one big mess....dutch mantell said it best. Punk was in a position of leadership and TK should've recognized the disrespect towards Punk from Perry. Punk should've had a more level head being in said leadership and approached TK and addressed the disrespect instead of taking the law into his own hands. Sad all around.

This has been a long time coming. The shine wore off after All Out last year, but even before that, aside from a mid feud with MJF, and a work/shoot/work with Hangman, he hasn’t done anything of worth in the company. They couldn’t even keep Collision with steady numbers. Tell me when I’m telling lies

Without CM Punk’s protection AEW Collision will become Rampage 2.0 in terms of bad wrestlers and wrestling matches. Shame because Collision was such a solid show with Punk giving the good wrestlers TV time and banning the Mudshow wrestlers

I went to the Collision taping on August 12, the one with Punk's infamous post-show about Pegwarmer Page. I didn't like it. The show was amazing, the house was packed, and after the show Punk just wanted to grind his axe. He tried to play it off as a joke, but the "joke" didn't land. Poor Dad had to try to recover the crowd so we could actually go home happy. I felt then a lesser amount of what I feel now - deep disappointment. I'm surprised he got himself fired, but I'm not shocked, y'know? I can't believe I haven't seen this yet, but...
    PUNK SCREWED PUNK.
