    Sorry about the avalanche! 🤣🤣🤣 It was a pleasure making a Robo piece for you my friend! I'm glad you like it. You've been an inspiration and such a wealth of knowledge. As I've said before, I never would have started this project without your channel and support. Hopefully more of your viewers are inspired to take up the challenge or build a non-wearable showpiece without the soft castings, as the case may be. Asen's model is amazing and it's fun to see it come to life. Cheers!

      I totally need to get in touch with you about one of those parts. I’ve always wanted to print Robocop but I definitely want to learn about what files are the best to use, etc before diving in. (And I should finish Threepio and Iron Man!)

      Twonightscinema on CGtrader is the man your looking for. His files are the best for the suit. I need to finish my Iron Man as well! Not sure when I'll ever get to it.

      @@ChrisBoshProps has he updated the files a good deal? I saw a comment saying the files aren’t accurate. But that comment is from 2020

    • @ChrisBoshProps
      @ChrisBoshProps  Рік тому +1

      @@WhereNerdyisCool To be honest they are the closest files to accuracy I think we'll ever get unless an actual 3D scan of screen used suit ever comes out but highly unlikely. The files are not perfect but they are very close. Once the suit is finished properly and completed the suit looks like it came right off the movie set. I personally think his files are the best that will ever and have ever been made available. I've owned a Bruce Hansing Robocop suit and built a Do3d Robocop suit and Asens (Twonightscinemas) files are far superior to those. I don't think he has done much updates and that comment from 2020 is probably from someone who was frustrated with the files because they didn't realize how much work it was going to be and just had to be a hater.

      Hi! I'm a fan of Chris Bosh Props and have been following his channel since 2021. I really enjoy the creative process and like to put my own unique twist on the build where I can, but I leave the tutorials and inspirational videos in Chris' very capable hands. 😄 If you have questions about the one-piece midsection mold/cast process, I'd be happy to answer them!

    Very cool, looks like it'll help prevent some pinch points. How heavy is it compared to the other?

    • @russoj277
      @russoj277 Рік тому +1

      The material type is the same so the final weight depends on how many batches/layers of FlexFoam-iT are applied. The material is very strong so I went with a relatively light thickness/weight. The risk with going too heavy is the inner circumference is reduced with each application of material around the midsection, so there would come a point when it won't fit over the hips/stomach. As Chris showed in earlier videos, FlexFoam-iT is very fluid when first mixed, so it's not easy to control the thickness throughout the entire cast (dare I say impossible), but applying several smaller batches is easier to control than fewer larger batches. I'm curious how heavy this one is compared to the other.

    • @ChrisBoshProps
      @ChrisBoshProps  Рік тому +2

      My 2 part casting was a little thicker and slightly heavier but not by much at all. Not sure on exact weight. The way Josh did it is much more practical and better overall.

      I still have a mountain of work remaining on my Robo suit so unfortunately I can't even dream of taking orders to cast the soft parts at this time. Having been through the entire process myself now, I understand why I couldn't find anybody selling online so I wouldn't have needed to make my own pieces in the first place! haha 😂
