Greetings
We visited NYC in April 2024 and followed this video both ways. Perfectly easy to get into Manhattan and would recommend. We had 2 large suite cases and two smaller cabin bags and all were easy to get on/off both trains
Glad it helped 🙏🙏
Very helpful! As a solo traveler this gives me so much peace 😂
Many thanks for a great walk through video. Followed it perfectly last week. No slip ups, no wrong turns.
How useful this video! I have been to New York twice and from the Jamaica station I had taken the subway, line E to Manhattan. I had not realized this way to go to Manhattan much faster and more comfortable. I will save this video in my favorites. Thanks a lot.
Thank you 😊 Yeah it’s a much better and faster route.
Is this way faster than taking subway to manhattan? 😮, but it costs more , while using subway only pays $2.75 ?
@@TheNYCWalkingShow by the way, if i wanna take subway from jamaica station going to my hotel in long island city, is it ok? 😮
100% confidence now I’ve seen this. 1st trip to NYC from England Feb 23. Thank you!
Hola a todos Saludos desde México
And this time next year, you can make this same exact trip but to Grand Central instead of Penn Station once East Side Access opens.
This was great, like having a friend show you a new place. Thanks for taking the time to help others 👍
This is the most useful and easy to understand video about the subject, I've seen!! THANK YOUUUUU SO MUCH!!!
Great video thank you very much for your explain, with details
Im watching from South Africa and have saved the video
i love train rides and the sound of the bell over the intercom in the train. I like to seeing other parts of new york for a change instead of the city.
I like it too 😊 Glad that you enjoyed
I have worked it all out, JFK to my hotel in the Meatpacking using Airtrain, LIRR to Penn Stn, then a cab comes to £49 return. Using a shared shuttle works out at £54. So for an extra £5 i don't have the stress of public transport.
Love all your videos!
Thank you 😊
Fanx so much mate! I had noooo idea about the LIRR to Penn Station! I took the subway and it was so crowded and smelly! 😩 my next trip to JFK I will go your wayyyy 👋
Perfect 🤩 I am glad that you found it.
Great video, interesting walk, good atmosphere.👍👍👍
In jun 2020 come back from New York
Didnt see , this nice train. Even it wasnt clean.
I happy to see the change.
Thank you so much for the great video. Very helpful

Its going to be good making a video going from Jamaica Station to Manhattan using subway.

You pronounce very well English, that help me a lot to interstand video

I will do this next 😁
The best video..
My anxiety thanks you!!
Wish I could give you 100 Likes. Very good content and very helpful. Thank you my Chief. Salute to you.
Thank you 😊
Thank Sifat for this useful video. Would you be doing a walking tour of inside a NYC station, what inside a metro station looks like, as well as the different entrances of the lines passing through that station? Just an idea
Very informative. I have to go that route in January. Thanks
Wow! What a great Video. It helps so much for our journey in October 😀 Thank you!
so far THE best video of all.
useful and informative 🦋🦋🦋
Hey sifat
Thanks for sharing
thank you, your videos like this are very useful.
A verry nice video. You say the cheapist. But Action Kid, had taken the bus, and that was cheaper. Only the time is then much longer.
But I know what I have to do next time, I follow you, from JFK to Penn station. Thanks men.
THANKS
Great to watch.. Thank you
good job , good video
I certainly enjoyed watching this video
Great! I love your tours and I know you will do a wonderful job!!
Thanks! Great very detailed video.
Many thanks, very informative video... but I don't think those LIRR ticket machines are tourist friendly, way too many steps and options just to buy a ticket, and no wonder the couple in front spent 3 minutes at the ticket machine!
I mean, how am I supposed to know what's "off peak" hours?; and why should I choose that option, what's the benefit? I've just arrived at NYC for the 1st time and saw no info anywhere about that while buying the ticket!
Also, why is there a "City Ticket" option, and what does it actually mean? I've already chosen "Penn Station" as destination in the previous step, and if that station is already within city limits... what's the purpose of "City Ticket"? Saw no detailed info about that either!
What a hecking mess that makes no sense for me as a 1st time tourist arriving at NYC!!
Is there room for big luggage in this kind of train? (LIRR) Thank you for this video, best one around!
What about luggage? Trying to work out if there's space for a large suitcase. |The overhead racks look quite narrow.
thanks for your videos it’s help a lot. by the way can I bring my one medium luggage with me using Long Island rail road (Jamaica to Manhattan)
Do you have a video on how to go from jfk to the Hamptons
Hello if i have luggage, there are electric stair to get to the platform (track 2) LIRR in the way to Penn Station? thanks so much!
How do you get from JFK airport going to Grand Central station in order to go on to Hawthorne NY? I've only used the subway from Hawthorne NY to Grand Central station and never to Penn station.
Thank u for the footage! This is the exactly information that i need. By the way, from this spot 1:04:30 which way to moynihan train hall?
Thank you so much 😊
For Moynihan Train Hall you have to go to 8th Avenue and 33rd St. 5 mins walk!
Is there any space for big luggage in LIRR beside the rack on top of the seats??
@@dumplingcheeks18 yeah they do. you can diffidently have space :)
You did not mention how to get to the train station from the JFK airport.
Airtrain.
Me and my six year old will be using the LIRR then transfering to subway in Penn station, will I need to get a separate metro card for my six year old?
And will I need to purchase a physical ticket with the metro card?
Hi dear,
Thank you for your Questions!
You don’t need to buy a separate metro card for your six year old child. One metro card is enough.
For LIRR the tickets is different.
Once you get the metro card that’s it you can use it in subway and don’t need to buy any physical tickets. For nyc subway their is not physical tickets only metro card. Hope that’s help. If you need more help you can email me “thenycwalkingshow@gmail.com”
Thank you for sharing this route ❤️ Does this route ok to travel with 1 big suitcase ? i could not see storing space in the train for big luggages.
Yes! This is totally okay to travel with one big suitcase. It would be comfortable.
They have space for suitcases!
it's quite an embarrassment not to have a direct public transportation between the city and JFK
Sometime I would like to see you bring us into Grand Central Terminal from Croton-Harmon.
I will in future 😁
Is LIRR if i stay at hotel in 28th st in manhattan? Is it walking distance from penn station to Hotel Hayden? Also correct me if I’m wrong but the $4.50 city tickets can only be used on weekends & not on weekdays or public holidays that falls on weekdays.
Hey Thank you so much for your comments. You are absolutely right that the city ticket is only for weekend. But most of the people doesn’t know about it and I forgot to mention it. And you can differently walk to hotel Hayden from Penn station (if you doesn’t have heavy bags), it’s a 5 mins walk. Hope that answers your questions.

The MetroCard is good for the subway and the bus?
Yes it is. You can use it in bus & subway. Every MetroCard has expires date, almost a year.
what about people carrying luggage on the LIRR?, do you just put in on the racks on the top? maybe it sounds pretty obvious lol but I'm a little bit worried about how hard or difficult the trip can result while travelling with luggage on a train.
by the way, thank you so much for the video! it was incredible useful.
I can understand your concern, yes you need to use those racks for the luggage, but I guess there are plenty of space where you can just leave your luggage and don’t need to put in the racks, if it’s too heavy. If you are doing trip solo then I guess this is the right option you can choose. But if you luggage is too
@@TheNYCWalkingShow thank you so much for your advice! :)
Yes you can. Many people carry luggage on the train.
So, when you swipe the metro card (32:04 minute) they discount 2.75 right?
Yes. Because I already pay in the bus. You just need to pay once
@@TheNYCWalkingShow ok thanks.
Great video.
It helps a lot!!
is there a compartment for luggage in the LIRR?
Yes
Is there wifi on board
I am not sure 🤔 I guess yeah
