I can just imagine this guy working for me ..... I'd be yelling all day "HEY !!! Are you STILL painting that same ole 3 feet of baseboard ??? My god man , it's 2:30 !!!!!!"
Good job. I would recommend using masking tape though. Most of us amateur folks with shaky hands will end up with wavy lines on the wall and floor without it.
If you give the wood work a better rub down and dust off with actual sandpaper properly better then using paint stripper (Also bad for the environment). That small brush painting will take you hours if you got loads to do. Was cringe from start to finish with that video. Sorry for being honest.
I didn’t prime mine and now I notice any small knocks like moving Furniture about causes them to peel slightly, plz use a primer or be prepared to do touch ups. Unfortunately I threw my paint can out and lost my receipt no idea what paint it was.
Good advice, I bought a house recently and noticed bits of paint peeled away on skirting. I suspect they never used a primer. I also suspect they painted water based directly on to oil based paint as it's 'blotchy' in parts, so even more reason they should have used primer.
@@mryan4452 Turns out I have a vague idea what paint it was, my plan is paint and decorate another room same colour and if the paint ll touch up. I'm 99% sure but don't know until I do it.

That’s exactly what I’ve done. Also in old houses many bugs and dump might be found underneath old skirtings. Well cheaper to replace with new ones primed it’s only £7 per 2.4 meters long skirting’s and you’ll get nice fresh skirtings
Dose any one knows between roll and brush it’s stays a white line when it’s painted with colour please let me know if someone knows what is the problem
if I was you I would lift up the carpet, use the hot gun for a faster result instead strip paint, then undercoat or equivalent following paint. You save time and the result will be incredible. Good luck fella
As a person just learning to.paint I have not learn how to paint a skirting board I learn to strip clean but not how to paint. I have to try another video.
I came her to watch a professional painter paint a skirting board but never got the information i needed. I wanted to watch a a professional cut in the board and the wall and all i got was nothing....cheers
One layer of paint wont come off evenly with paint stripper. You'll end up with a very patchy, rough skirting board with multiple layers of paint exposed.
yes a lot of paint strippers ain't very good now and 99% are water based which means you have to washed them off after as well on top needing about a coat paint stripper per coat of paint now
A professional painter wouldn't haha you mental mate I'm painting 3 rooms for a client with laminate flooring what do you think I'm going to do lift all her flooring up to paint the skirting boards have you lost the plot hahaha
😂 Spot the flaws video 😂 And the carpet would be a write off (paint stripper! :(, paint) so best get rid of first, and thoroughly clean. (Fairy, sugar soap.) Sort out any lumps, holes, damage? Paint stripper top layer 😂 of two 😂 (Stripper for major damaged paint on expensive / detailed wood work only! (and so much work) and use cheap / old brushes!) . Better to replace ordinary skirting with new if that bad. Use wider paint brush... Also i use oil based and do 'different' directions each coat, fine light sand in between, so perfectly smooth surface forms, no brush marks etc. etc.

No one in the world has ever used paint stripper on pre-painted skirting, just sand and paint!

Lmao working for you he can fck about
Never ceases to amaze me how many professional painters end up in the comments of how to paint videos.
Interesting - I wonder why
Really weird how people are attracted to things they do for a living or enjoy.
Good to see Neil warnock back in work
I would go broke if I painted this way I’d never get the job done what a waste of time
I was thinking the same. It'll take him a week to do 1 room!
Some says he's still painting the skirting boards on this room
How rude!
Hes giving a demonstration ffs!
@A S You get a grip you fanny.
Just because you were dragged up and never taught any manners.
So you do a quick but poor job then?
Straight to the point, loved this and super useful! 👏✨

Lmao 👍
Bet he charges £800 an hour and takes 3 years to a small bathroom skirting
🤣🤣as the saying goes you pay for quality! 🤣🤣
@@mryan4452 😂😂😂
I'd tuck the masking tape down a bit more...make it almost hug the skirting...loving the goggles 😂
Is there any point to sanding the top layer of paint, you then remove with stripper ? I’m not seeing the benefit
No it's stupid
Maybe the paint stripper liquid can better oentrate the top layer of paint
If there is multiple layers of paint like he said in the video , it'll help penetrate deeper layers of paint

Blimey! They definitely tried to save money In the making of this video -look at the size of that paintbrush!. It's absolutely tiny.
Reminds of back in the day when in New York the union told us to use seven inch rollers instead of Ni
What sandpaper?
Thank you 😘😘😘
I was hoping to see how you do the corner that meets the wall 😔
Cutting with brush
Just caulk it and paint it nothing special
Cheaper to remove and paint new skirting then install
