In terms of overall quality, this was probably the best movie ever featured on MST3K. I know that's not saying much, but still I consider this to be a perfectly decent film.
I really liked Danger: Diabolik, it's the only movie I've watched unriffed. It's a really fun movie and there's a lot that got cut in the MST3K version that really fleshes out the story. You can't go wrong with Mario Bava especially with a Morricone soundtrack!
And to think, of all the movies MST3k did, THIS was the one who's plot got ripped off to make a Michael Bay movie. Well done, Parts. You achieved every B-Movie's dream, to have your plot recognized as a potential money maker after all. Quick question to everyone, which is better? Parts or The Island?
The fans actually supported the director of this movie as after he sued the makers of The Island for ripping off SO much. They settled out of court for a rumored seven figure sum.
I love the Favorite Moments highlight clips because so much is packed in and distilled, the cream of the crop. And the riffs here in this particular episode of MTS3K contain so many pop culture references, it's fantastic ... with jokes and quotes that some generations of viewers will instantly recognize and yet others will not know at all because it's before their time. I've watched this particular video a bunch of times over the years; it always brings me plenty of laughs.
"She really was on top of old smokey..." HA! Definitely one of my favorite MST3K episodes. The movie is stupid enough for fast, brutal riffing but not so bad as to be unwatchable.
Holy crap! Just watched the old V series and couldn't get the Martin character (Frank Ashmore) out of my head. I knew I had seen him before. And then I realized he's the slow blinking, blonde clone in Clonus. Damn!
Here's some obscure MST3K trivia for you that I just realized: the actor who played Jake Noble in Parts was the same actor who played the colonel in Laserblast, Keenan Wynn (if IMDB is correct).
@@auritone Seriously! Thank you! I listen to these almost every night! When I watch the actual episodes, I know what's coming and I love it. 😁😁 I think you truly got me into this show, tbh.
It really was but the creator of the island tried to hide it. However, in fact thanks to this very episode fans were able to inform the creator of the original, who was able to use it to prove his case and receive credit and revenue from the newer film

If people like them just a fraction as much as I enjoy making them, I'm very happy. :)
10:20 OMG! It's the crazy retired military guy from "Laser Blast"!
@@cindydott452 Yup, it's Keenan Wynn.
FYI, Richard the "doorknob clone who begins to question everything" is Tim Donnelly, who also played Chet Kelly on the 70s TV show Emergency.

FNGLHR The Island, hands down.
mred915 Heh, ain't you cute. Like really cute. You keep thinking that.
The Island.
@@FNGLHR Believe it or not, The Island actually was better. Well, the first two thirds at least. Kinda taken a piss with the last leg.

This is the nearly exact plot of Michael Bay's The Island from a decade back!
That's why a lawsuit was settled out of court when The Island was made.
Wow, I haven't seen the Island in a long time, but I never would have guessed, that MST3K would have done the original.

Chip Hitler
That's not feasible...Michael Bay only makes it far, far worse! Which, in turn, makes it easier to riff!
Why didn't George Walker place an order for a new eye from his clone?
He did. He's wearing the eye patch because it hasn't settled in and healed yet.
