Got to say I love your channel! Lost in Albania was great. 30 years ago I spent an entire summer in Albania and from what I saw in your videos it doesn't seem like it's changed much at all
YES!! Been waiting for this generation 890 for 12 months. To see you riding it and giving it a little review has made me more excited than I have been in a long time. Didn't expect this to pop up in my feed so soon! I will be buying this bike. Cheers Adam 🍻
Great stuff as always Adam. Thank you. The best choice I ever made in my long motorcycle life was my 08 990 on the mountain trails of Washington state. Now I have her in the Utah desert and I still single track her every chance I get....albeit a bit faster here in the desert. There is something special about that big twin and I will probably keep her until one of us stops ticking, but this gen of the 890 R will soon become my goto big backcountry machine. Your approach to big adv bikes highlights exactly what makes them so fun for riders like me, and it is great that you continue to share your passion with so many. Few of us will ever send our bikes like you do, but your videos help show the massive range of these bikes for those willing to spend the time and energy learning how to ride them. Thanks for all the great content you've contributed over the years to the adventure community.
One of the best moto reviews I’ve seen. Educational, entertaining and high quality by a humble and relatable professional. I’ve said it for a long time… KTM embraces and knows it’s target market better than any other manufacturer and they partner with professionals like you to share their story, which is brilliant.
KTM knows that they appeal to the emotions & hearts of buyers, not their wallets & sensibilities. Everyone is free to choose boring & reliable or exciting & memorable.
@GrizzlyDaddams Bullshit. Your whining like every other online pilot. Tap that keyboard. Ive had zero problems with my 890R, none. Its a rocket. Go buy a T7 and try to make it go like an 890R.
Wow! They really improved the looks. I’m 73 and have been using my BMW 1200GS less and favoring my Husqvarna 701 more because of the light weight. Looks like the 890 would fill my needs.
I have the same bikes as you, had my 1200GS for nearly 12 years and I think the revised 890 Adventure (non R for me) would be a perfect replacement for the GS as I know the seat height is lower😉👍👍
And it doesn't seem that long ago that you were talking about setting up a yz450f for enduro and how capable of a bike they were , well im on my 6th or 7th yz450f and have placed my orfer for the 2023 and here i am once again many many years later listening to you and what you have to say about the ktm 890 adventure bike as this is going to be my next step in my riding life that im going to take as i could think of no better way to travel across the top end of this awesome country than on a adventure bike, i will ride till i die , stay safe 🇦🇺👍🏼
I have one of these 890 r rippers. Based on my riding experience over the past 40 years. Yes I'm a bit of a geezer. This is one of the best out there. Have had no issues. Other then trying to hold on.
Hi Adam really enjoyed the video :) dad an I are looking at Ktms again, you are 110% right I always think even with guitars an motorcycles you don't wanna start with something poor it just puts you off, if you have the best package under you, you are safe and secure. The best analogy was when I was starting riding (my dad's bro raced Nortons) insisted I got leathers rs125 2 smoker mechanic comes out starts having a go about the leathers, my old man says well 60s still 60 doesn't matter if its a 125 or a blade (which I later had) We have had everything now brand wise had a bad experience with 2x 390s the displays were a big issue over here in the uk where they don't cover them under warranty eventually we had to reject them gutter! The suspension though even at that level of cost was on another level to the 300 Rally I had an the Himalayan. I agree as well about to much power on to chassis on the other bikes had 1200gsa's etc. On an 1150gsa now an I've been applying all your tips getting the weight off the back etc transformed the enjoyment. Thanks for taking the time to make these vids n hopefully soon as we can afford it 890s or Nordens inbound.
Wow! Its BIG, it's nice... I wonder if it'll end up under Toby Price. Don't EVER sell yourself short as a test rider, your ability is there complimented with broad knowledge and know how as to describe in detail the performance & personality of a bike.
Love it as always, it does however create what me & my mate call the “Riemann / tarres “ effect . See you guys ripping these Adv bikes & instilled false confidence in us that we would buy Adv bikes & rip like we do on our enduro 300s. Ktm 990 for him & T7 for me. One year later we both sold them & building 500 exc Adv bikes , just not confident to take the big bikes down serous tracks for fear of dropping & not being able to pick up or getting proper stuck . Maybe we just weren’t ready for 200kg, both coming from hard enduro we thought we’d just make 200kg do what an enduro bike does & wasn’t the case.
I was able to demo a 2022 890 earlier this year...I loved it, this model year looks even more capable, you hammered that track, Ill have to take a ride down to the dealer to see one in person when they arrive.
Greetings from South Africa, love your videos, it was your adventure bike videos that tempted me to buy my 1090R back in 2018. Can’t agree more about suspension, my ass has been saved a few times thanks to these bikes amazing suspension!
Hey man why is your channel so much better than everyone else’s. The feed keeps showing me all these other Moto UA-camrs and why are they all annoying and gimmicky? This channel is the real deal, love it make more vids pls
Adam so glad I found your channel. Thank you for making good videos , it was great seeing you and your friend in the tenere desert raid launch giving it some.
There is no way I'll ever ride my 2022 890R like you but its nice to know its capabilities. Another interesting video and review with useful information. Thanks for making and posting it Adam.
As someone who wants and will eventually get an 890R you said two key components most overlook or balk at the price. No matter how new or how many gadgets there are tires and suspension are key. When you said the suspension is better than most and "the suspension is the safest package to have under you" is vital after a long day of dancing with a 450+lb bike all day long. Until you ride a poorly suspended bike vs a properly suspended bike you will have no idea how much more grin inducing your bike will be.
I have a T7 and KTM 690. Zero issues with the T7. KTM nothing but issues. From stalling, not starting and surging. Waited over 3 months for parts. Next time you speak with KTM mention quality control. It is well known the issues KTM have with their bikes and jokes about their bikes always breaking down. If you're a lucky one and have no issues, great. But for those who do it's stressful. I have no confidence in my KTM. KTM make great bikes but reliability needs to improve before I ever buy a KTM, Husky, Gas Gas again. The money we pay for these bikes!!!
I watched this video of some Australian blokes doing a ride on two identical brand new KTMs from London to china or something and their bikes BOTH broke down at the same time with the same problem (water pumps). That cannot be a coincidence
My Pan America is the same way. Reliability is key with an adv bike. The most useful reviews are 1 year or 7500 miles of ownership. What is good and also what broke. I looked at the KTM 390 and bought a Kawasaki KLX 300. Peace of mind is huge. Plus the KTM dealer was a dikweed, so there’s that too
Convincing statements, great footage and perfect riding. It's highly entertaining to follow your channel. And I do pick up quiet a few things. Off to Romania next week. Thanks a lot, Günter/Nürnberg
Hello, I is it possible to see you reviewing a ktm690 enduro r? I'm trying to choose between a ktm 690 or 500 but I keep jumping back and forward bc I'll like a bike that can handle distance and be good on the dirt at the same time.
Hi, do you have any problem with engine starting reliability when the engine is cold? I have the 790 adventure and when the engine is cold I have to repeat starting several times because it always turns off (6 times until the engine remain in operation after cold start).
Excellent as always and great to see the manufacturers not getting too precious about working with independent people who do stuff with more than just their brand. 👍
Stumbled across your channel today, watched The Warhorse, Lost in Albania and now this. Fantastic story telling and videography. Had a KTM 450 EXC years back, might have to really consider the 890 as my next hooligan mount when I'm not on the Harley.
Woow another wonderful beast from KTM stable its just awesome. Some wise man has said that "its not what you ride, its always how you ride" For me you are not Toby but you are on par with Toby. LOVE ❤️ all the way from INDIA.
@ARiemann1, I have the T7 with spring and valves, but still feel the suspension isn’t as good. Looking to switch to 890R, for a less top heavy feel and better suspension and power. I love the T7. Hoping you could provide some insight between the two. I don’t want regrets
Adam , if it wasn't for people like youe almost non of us would ride on big bikes in off road adventures ! Keep it up , we love it !
But remember, he is highly skilled✌️..far way we can achieve 😉,he is inspiring us ..👍
Got to say I love your channel! Lost in Albania was great. 30 years ago I spent an entire summer in Albania and from what I saw in your videos it doesn't seem like it's changed much at all

Seriously considering getting one of these.. its always great to see u on a KTM !
As always, a world class mini review of a great bike and insane rider !
Cheers
Cool to see You on the KTM ship again Adam! This will be great to follow, as always. The new beast looks great , time for upgrade?! 👀😁✊🏻✊🏻💪🔥 Cheers! 🍺
What happened to the Yamaha thing?
@@twowheelpilot Not sure but this is more fun 💪🔥✊️✊️🙌😁
I have to admit my envy when watching the kind of ease you display in handling these motorcycles
yep that's pretty deceptive - ppl in general are not going to be able to do that. this bike is about 50kg too heavy

“The proof is in the pounding” haha! Mad me laugh!🤣
Love your videos mate. Hope KTM keeps sending you out to film crazy adventures!

The absolute best motorcycle channel on YT. Balls out bro....let it eat!
I have one of these 890 r rippers.

Your videos are more efficient than a visit to the therapist. THANK YOU!!! I am totally relaxed now and I can go to bed. Cheers from Vancouver Canada
haha, sleep well and thanks for the support.
Another great video Adam. KTM are lucky to have you showcase their bikes.👍🍻🇦🇺

Adam your videos along with Ryan F9 are the only two that get thumbs up before watching a single frame of footage 👍🏿Great Job
I appreciate your support Wei, thank you 🙏

Now...KTM 890 Adv R is back on my list...thanks for the new design 👍🏻
As always..simple..to the point..honest and straight up!
Thank you adam
is this an authentic message adam or spam ? .i trust my luck never to have won a raffle let alone a 890 .
Great footage as always! That thing looks like a beast
I was able to demo a 2022 890 earlier this year...I loved it, this model year looks even more capable, you hammered that track, Ill have to take a ride down to the dealer to see one in person when they arrive.
Killin' it on that thing, brother. It was built to ride like that...although most won't. Excellent job
You’re right, the new look has hit the nail on the head. I love it!
Finally Slip 0 in Rally Mode. Thank you!
(I am riding an early 2019 790 Adv R, also on Mitas E07+ and custom engine mapping)
Greetings from South Africa, love your videos, it was your adventure bike videos that tempted me to buy my 1090R back in 2018. Can’t agree more about suspension, my ass has been saved a few times thanks to these bikes amazing suspension!

Damn! Andy on the new 890! The perfect rider for the perfect bike.
Thank you
Love your content Adam! Keep it coming 🤙
Anther great video by ARiemann. Been a journey watching your channel grow 👍🏼 Keep it coming
Awesome improvements to 890R. Still wish ktm would do a proper 390R which has plenty of power for offroad adv riding.
Love my 790 Advi R, but this suspension is amazing.
Best channel for this type of content. Bar none.
Adam so glad I found your channel. Thank you for making good videos , it was great seeing you and your friend in the tenere desert raid launch giving it some.
It for sure has improved over the years.
Can't wait to see it more.

Your videos are just tops. Nice job Adam.
Best channel on youtube
This is too cool. That video you did was one of the reasons I got my 1290 SAR in 2017.
what's the best adv bikes to start on?
Riemann has unlocked a new level of humbleness.
As someone who wants and will eventually get an 890R you said two key components most overlook or balk at the price. No matter how new or how many gadgets there are tires and suspension are key. Yourself and Mr Birch have made me pre order one of these 😅.
You inspire the whole 🌍
How was the wind buffeting?
Thanks for your review Adam! Stay safe and keep kickin' great video...
what do you think of Tractive suspension ?
I have a T7 and KTM 690. Zero issues with the T7. KTM nothing but issues. From stalling, not starting and surging. Waited over 3 months for parts. Yes i agree . over ingenired . that is why the chinos are going to take the market . with the new kove bikes . ! They are amazing and cheaper !!!
Well when you're just putting around bud, they don't run well. Gotta be full gas all the time, easy.
Awesome review, amazing footage 👍
Awesome video~ cant wait to add this bike to my KTM fleet~
Yiiihaaa!! Will see you on november in the ktm event?
Love adventure big bikes just like dirt bikes had the ktm going to the t7 hope it doesn’t disappoint ‼️‼️‼️‼️
They gave the bike to the right guy for this review!
I like this Adv channel over the rest cause yall actually carry a good semi-race pace.
Do still have to pay extra to unlock features already built into bike?
Great video Adam! Cheers from Brasil
what a nice bike !
I like the rally style a lot 😎
Do the traction control and ABS settings stay after ignition off/on?
Convincing statements, great footage and perfect riding. It's highly entertaining to follow your channel. And I do pick up quiet a few things. Off to Romania next week. Thanks a lot, Günter/Nürnberg
Which seat is installed on this one ? The powerpart one ?
Awesome. Hope I can ride mine like that one day!
Wow!! Waiting to see you ride it more 😍👌🏽 good stuff! Love from india 🇮🇳
New favourite channel, thanks
Did they fix the gas cap / fuel tank pressure relief or does it still spray fuel everywhere when the big black plastic tanks get hot?
Keep doing what you’re doing, good stuff, no BS.
Duuude! This is prob the best review anyone has ever made. Just by actually understanding these bikes to explaining why their good🤝
👍🏼very well done
Had an '09 fuel injected berg 570, the beginnings of the low grav concept. This vid has got me keen on another bike for sure.
Any recommendations on tires for this bike?
Adam, you got away with it because of prodigious riding skills, brother. Full stop. Lovely!
You are a good man my brother!
God bless you and your family.
I send you Love ,Health and positive energy.
Stay safe and keep having fun!

I really like my ktm dirtbikes. When I'm ready to start adventuring the 890r is what I want!
Ur funny
Liked and shared it with my friends, THX!
What’s your thoughts on the 690 enduro R as a overpowered and reliable big dirt bike. Been thinking of getting one over my 2017 500 exc
Did u happen to see the Upcoming 390 or the 490 Adv Rally..😍😍😍
Adam, are you partnering with KTM again? Can't wait for more videos like this!
That thing is bad ass!
Another stellar video bud
Great to see you got to know the legend himself Gio Sala!
