Don't know if anyone mentioned this yet. If they have, sorry for repeating it but if they haven't then you may wish to take a look at this. The hissing noise you here is most likely caused by the noise canceling system that the Sony package has integrated into it. When I had my 2013 fusion with the Sony sound, I had the same issue. The solution is that you need to disconnect the microphones that are mounted beneath the interior upholstery on the roof of the truck. In the fusion they were located almost directly above where a persons head would be when witting in the front seats. If you feel around a bit up under the upholstery, you should be able to locate either the mics or the wires that connect them down to thr system. Simply disconnect them by cutting the wires to the mics and the hissing should disappear completely. Hope this helps.

How do you retain the functionality of the 6 buttons that come off the OEM radio? I only see a slot for the traction control, hazards, and passenger airbag. Where is the info and setup buttons?

Like your post on the unit. I just install the 13.1 in my Avalanche and so far it is working for the essential stuff. I am just getting familiar with the unit and how to modify the settings. I like that the WiFi does both 2.4 and 5g. It connected my steering controls with no problem. I must say the amount of RCA connectors were overwhelming and took some time to connect them to the right connection but even now I think I may need to change something. I do have a remedy for the hissing in your speaker that I found work for me even with other after-market system - use a RCA Line ground loop noise isolator between the RCA inputs. I used the InstallGear set from Amazon - less than $20. I like your setup and good luck with it.

I have a 2023 f150 with factory CarPlay and seems like 3-5 times a month where I have the connectivity issues. From what I used to hear it was more than likely the phone that’s the source of the issue. Vehicle Bluetooth is was more solid from what I’ve been told. I could have been told wrong lol
I put an android head in my 2002 Silverado, it was so dope. Everyone who got in my truck was like that is the coolest thing. I am getting one for my newer Ford. I love the Android heads.

I was told to implement its own symm card for connection issues. But Ive had speratic reception issues on radio and a couple times while backing the camera image froze and a moment later unfroze. The front camera image is not that sharp. My gps camera is better and records
Called a shop asking about these for my 2012 f150 and they said it doesn’t interface with my vehicle. They use the linkswell tablets. So not sure if that was the problem or not.

Shit!! All of the cons you named i have those same issues on my 22 navigator.. sometimes hotspot randomly disconnects, sometimes Bluetooth won't connect or will disconnect while on a call... been back to the dealer a dozen times for it... im over it😩
I had my unit a lil ova a year for my jaguar xf. There is no sound now. I've been contacting the company for trouble shooting. It plays sound when it wants too. 🤔

I have the same issue just posted a video on this. I have the android 10 model and the WiFi auto cuts off on the screen when it auto connects to Bluetooth/CarPlay. They cancel each other out basically Bluetooth has to be off to ensure WiFi stays on its very annoying. If you find a fix for this let me know. I do have pheonix auto calling me Monday to talk on a fix for it will let you know. I think wireless car play uses WiFi even if your phone doesn’t say it which conflicts with system WiFi from your hotspot. A wire in might fix that issue but you’d probably have to turn WiFi off on your phone lol.
I just added an Apple CarPlay screen in my F150 and left the rest as stock 🤷♂️🤷♂️ only paid $150 for the 11” HD screen a way cheaper option in my opinion.
Is there a place I can go to learn how to operate the Android Programs (Phone, Messaging) that come on these and AI Box devices? These are the Two issues I have is programming the Phone and Text Messages. Appreciate any suggestions.
Still struggling on why radio sounds different when original hardware is retained. Video rendering is not as sharp as original as well. Plus keeping it connected is a chore one second pandora is on the next its off. Very nice but it has some issues

the stock camera that came with the truck.. was the reverse image on the rearview mirror or did you have a similar radio with large screen? I have a 2012 and my reverse camera shows on the mirror... very small.
How did you swap the buttons on the top left? For hazards, traction control and passenger airbag? The unit online doesn’t have those buttons it has other ones.
I have this in my truck. The screen stopped working which left me unable to control my heat or air conditioning. Or music. Or anything. Much better to have independent buttons. Far more practical

@@kole420 you don't fix it. No stereo professional will even touch these Chinese touch screen systems. I don't know anything, so definitely don't take my word for it; but it seems like the best route is to replace it all together

I have to say I've had this for about 5 or so months and now it started to act up on me. Won't connect to my phone to play music, when it does it gets stuck on the radio or it will play my music then suddenly it just stops playing, and is stuck on the radio again. I am highly upset about it.
I like the full screen of the Tesla radio but they all just look so cheap and gimmicky. They don’t give it a factory feel at all. Soundman Audio make a dash mod for the iPad Pro on the 2009-2014 F150 that blows the Tesla screen out the water so I think that’s what I’m going with. It’s pricey though and then there is the iPad Pro purchase also.
The backup cam is strange because if you're using the stock backup camera, then it's gotta be something to do with the contrast of the screen. If there is an option, turn up the contrast or brightness and see if that helps? Thanks for the video. I'm looking at getting one of these for my 2010 F150 Platinum. It looks cool and I really wish I had carplay in it because the stock "Sync" is terrible. It was great when it was new, but in 2023? It's garbage. Lol

From what I heard a aftermarket camera will look a lot more clear all so I would replace the reverse cameras with bright LED

What happened to the instrument cluster Info/Reset/Unit buttons? Did those get integrated into the headunit?

This hissing noise can be from the wiring not being shielded enough.
On the first video, you had mentioned that the installer had do do some research. Did he figure out how to make the steering wheel controls work?

He switched one of the buttons to the “info” button for the dash that was on the original radio
