This series of lectures by Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo are a gift to humanity. She has a gift for making it seem like love and compassion are completely natural and almost obvious characteristics. Listening to Jetsuma, with his welcoming voice, his humility and deep wisdom, makes us think how far humanity has become from its true nature. Thanks for sharing this teachings.
Awesome, a new set of teachings by Jetsunma after a long time. I am extremely grateful to your organization for making the talk possible and uploading the video.
These videos are incredibly helpful to those of us with family obligations who live far away from a dharma center or live in-person teacher. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.🙏🏻❤️
What if the confidence makes a family member insecure that is not Buddhist. I repeat soften my heart towards it and fell bad for the moment. What does a practitioner do with a difficult person
"If anybody tells you they're Enlightened make for the clearest exit." Lol. I am Enlightened, lol, & I know it. God told me not to hide my Light under a bushel. I am neither ashamed nor proud, just happy I have achieved what the Almighty led me to achieve. I have seen God Face to Face. I am Guru Rasa Von Werder, Kellie was my stage name as a dancer.
Except that you need to be taught that in person and one to one with a qualified guru/lama for that. This is about the commentary on how to do a retreat with those instructions as well as how there peak practice fits into the rest of a dharma context
@@DanielMByron "Except that you need to be taught that in person and one to one with a qualified guru/lama for that" Actually you do not, you (apparently) only "need" a guru for pointing out instructions. Why the fuck do you think you would need someone else to teach you the nature of your mind! How did you think sahara created the practise in the first place! I will post an actual deep full mahamudra teaching for OP.
@@Stinkyremy I believe if you check the namthars you’ll see his teacher was Śaru who took him as consort and that instigated the change. 100% agree if you successful receive a pointing out instruction and it lands and you glimpse rigpa and know how to sustain it you’re a winner baby :) - but if you don’t and you need to familiarise yourself with the view, and then gain certainty, then you’ll need to rely on a qualified teacher. Of course, this is specifically for Mahamudra/Mahasandhi
1:09:55 Now you said it. I was celibate for 30 years. After 10 years God told me do I want to quit? I said NO. Ten more years, God appears again, do you want to quit? I said no. Ten more years again God appears, I say no. Then God says to me, "If you don't stop suffering, quit the celibacy, go out & have fun, you will be OUTSIDE THE WILL OF GOD." Of course I obeyed. This is a totally new & different way of thought, when the Cross has DONE ITS WORK & God does not want us to be on it forever, the celibacy, Cross, HAS DONE ITS WORK, it's over, it's finished, one can be NORMAL again short of committing sin, as you said, the Llamas who ascended, some of them drink & have sex but don't commit murder. Now it's beginning to make sense why God sent me out to be an 'errant monk' so to speak. Most of my disciples COULD NOT UNDERSTAND my new behavior & they quit me - I no longer seemed HOLY. But I saw a movie where Buddha practiced terrible starvation/austerities & had followers, but then he decided that was not HOLINESS of itself, obviously, it can lead to holiness, & he changed his way to 'the middle way.' Some of the disciples left him, saying 'We can no longer learn from you.' I gather from studying your Buddhists, some became famous for 'crazy wisdom' like The Chogyam Trungpa - but look at his later life, the amazing fruits he bore, the monasteries & schools he founded, he helped bring Buddhism to the West - he was NOT outside the Grace of God.
my remark below, she goes on that these Yogis, Llamas go outside the RESTRICTIONS of ordinary society in order to benefit society, it is OK for them, what they do. The wisdom here is that restrictions are not holiness. Celibacy of itself, fasting, starvation, no dancing, no drinking, etc. are not holiness. They CAN LEAD to holiness, & when they do, after the person is established in God, they can relax & do ordinary things, they are not consumed by them, not addicted, not driven or fixated on such things, they are free. But of course those who are BEGINNING, these restrictions will probably apply to them, as they must gain control over their desires, impulses, addictions & fixations. But when that which is perfect has come, that which is in part can be done away with. {Saint Paul}
The point of any of the vows is stop harming ourselves and others. It has nothing to do with holiness. For monastics or those wishing to become a monastic the vows are taken in order to eliminate obstacles or distractions to be able to devote and focus oneself for the work (path) one has chosen to embark upon.
Mahamudra is a body of teachings found in the many of the Tibetan Buddhist schools, which includes methods for truly understanding the very nature of our own minds, leading us to enlightenment. Different schools might propose slightly different approaches for achieving this goal, but regardless of which one is followed, working on knowing the actual nature of our minds is a way of making our lives incredibly meaningful.

Very much enjoyed this video series but I would suggest changing the title. I was expecting to learn about Mahamudra practice
Agree with everything

I imagined a sad ant 🐜 or arguing ants 🐜 🐜 😂😂😂
this whole thing does not involve Mahamudra through out more than 4 hours of teaching. why is this series entitled with Mahamudra? Feel cheated.
This is irrelevant to MAHAMUDRA. Not that not right.
cheated by the title.
I like her teachings. But the title should be changed to "Vajrayana"instead of mahamudra.

If you don’t see the relevance than maybe you are trying to take too many shortcuts
