I'm returning my Drumbrute Impact tomorrow (seriously) and getting one of these. What a little beast, and with so many features. That step sequencer is so easy and makes so much sense.
Hello, great video, is it possibile to trigger the single voices of the Deton8 via an external midi keyboard/pad controller and sequence it from an external sequencer?
Hey there... Very nice to see a review from somebody about the deton8. I also Have a deton8 beast.. it was love at First sight. I was wondering if maybe you already did a firmware update ? I did not do one yet because i am not sure and a little insecure about installing the drivers For the firmware update. The prob I still have is the pattern bug... it eats my patterns up and barfs them out in everything i did not save or store. It would be awesome to start with the patterns where i ended previously. Is it possible for you to maybe make a small clip showing how To update the firmware? If not... no prob my friend. If so.. it would be a Big help for my and maybe others. Thx in advance. Grtz
Hello! Thanx for this tutorial - very helpful! One thing I still can't understand - how many kits can be used during playback? It can't be just one, right? And how can you recall different kits in the device without the editor? Thanx in advance!
Also mit welchen Kabeln?! Und wie bringt man später den acid8 noch geschickt mit ins Spiel?
Thanks for the tutorial! Like the beat! How did you manage to get your exact sounds to the deton8? I've tried "every" combination of bitrate and sampling frequency but it sounds always different even in the editor.
Frank Groh thx frank! was a bit kraftwerk inspired for the beat 😉 16bit / 44.1 khz did work for me - sounds will always sound (a little) different (lofi) due to the bit reduction ... were you‘re sounds completely „off‘ ?
@@onedrumcomputeraday196 Thanks for your answer! I am aware of the bit reduction effect, but yes they sound really "off". I am working on a Mac by the way ...
Nice little box! On a side note: next time please normalize all audio, especially your voice, and figure how your voice sounds when cutting everything lower than 1kHz at 60dB with white noise at 50dB running at the same time. If you can't understand a thing in this setting I can't understand a thing on my Macbook either.
@@onedrumcomputeraday196 well, with all due respect, the entire video also didn't sound good on my studio headphones. The voice was still too low in level, the deton8 sounded confusingly undefined after the good intro. Did you record everything through the internal microphone of a camera? And if so, why would you do that instead of syncing the direct signal going through your audio interface to the video by hand, which can be easily done with free tools?
@@Goth108 hi - thx for the input once more! kindly note that I'm running this channel just for fun and in some videos I really only use my iPhone, so it's a ll a little rough and dirty because I'm always a bit short on time and lazy ;) at the beginning and the end I hooked it up to an audio interface for my phone, so I can think you can judge the quality by those parts quite good - for the newer vids I used a mixer and better microphone so they should match your standards a bit more and sound a bit better ;) check out the upcoming pearl dr-x1 video .... cheerz, Steve

Hello! Great video, instant GAS! Could you sends your samples sounds, they’re awesome, looks perfect tailored for this tiny beast! Thxxxx
So helpful. Can you assign any samples to the other buttons. I want to trigger random samples whilst playing and messing around with a loop.
This is a really nice machine!
Dreadbox it actually is 👌
Great video! I’m feeling the PUMP

Thanks for reviewing this little monster. Is it true, you cant trigger sounds nor patterns via midi?
yes - so far this is not possible. maybe in a later firmware ... I don't miss the trigger option, but changing patterns might be cool
#onedrumcomputeraday Has this been addressed in firmware yet?
