honky tonk music klone kit
sound demo of the quirky klone kit control module. made in the uk 1983 it was a cheap 5 voice alternative to other popular but expensive e-drum solutions of that time. all channels are identical except the snare channel which offers noise. the sound is very limited - followed up by the more flexible klone kit 2. since there's no demo of version 1 I decided to shoot a quick video with proper aud...
pollard syndrum twin

the pollard syndrum was one of the first commercially available electronic drums. this is the syndrum twin, sometimes called the twindrum - a beautiful drum synthesizer (brain) from 1976 which was part of an electronic drum kit. joe pollard was a session drummer working for the beach boys and other bands.

Is it close to the Simmons sds7
@@miker5233 not really, since tve sds7 is a hybrid (analog sounds & samples) - the sds7 is more flexible while the dynacord is a straight sample player - the simmons is the better (but more expensive) option - this one is still fun though 👌
By the sounds of those loops in there, are you sure that isn't Ed's actual "lost" unit 😂 ;)
hab zuerst Honecker drums gelesen haha
Sounds a lot like The Sisterhood “Gift” album (1986)
I think demo's are more useful when the settings are not changed every second.
And in a random order,
@@fritsvanzanten3573 thank you 🙏
@@fritsvanzanten3573 thanks for watching anyway 😉
Amazing collection Steve! Love all that Russian stuff you have. I would like to suss more of them out.
Is there any clone of this? Or is there a way to find an original drm16-15 or 32 please?
@@dreuft79 there‘s no clone - you can find them on reverb or ebay from time to time - drm32 is much more rare though
@@onedrumcomputeraday196thanks! 9 finally manage to get one on leboncoin (France)
Nice! i think Cabaret Voltaire used one of these data at some stage.
Great video! I’m feeling the PUMP
I've had up a demo of the Klone Kit 1 on UA-cam for 4 years! With the pads. You can get any modern Remo practice pad and add some piezos, connect them up and you have a full kit. ua-cam.com/video/uYhIsNU8IrA/v-deo.html
now prices are starting to go up, and running after correctly priced cartriges seems like a real time waste, the add one seems tremendous, 3k i can understand, but 5k is just an easy way for people that had it in the basement to speculate. my opinion though but from 3 to 5 in two years this is crazy, and at the end of the day nobody will buy those because those prices are back up by nothing, not even demand......
YES!
Huge!😮
Thank you. GIG, Spot or Standard?
thank you holger! it‘s the standard (r2d2) 😅 version - lovely instrument
I also have a few Variophones, some of which are unfortunately defective. I like R2D2 as a name for the standard😅@@onedrumcomputeraday196
nice, fat kick tom ;) so hard to find ;) any old alternative ? or modern analo, modular can come close maybe .. ;) cheers
I’m creating a cover band of the Bérurier Noir. Would you agree to be part of it with your drm 16? I’m in Tournai in Belgium.
i guess i read this too late 😅 sorry
@@onedrumcomputeraday196 I have bought one via Australia and we have began to play.

Quite punchy for 8-bit.
How did u get your hands on them?
im selling one on reverb
Fantastic collection! A lot of harder-to-find and obscure machines too. It's nice to see and hear what companies came up with before everyone overused/imitated 808s, 909s, etc.
thx a lot 🙏🔈🚀
Thank You for this excellent sample of this amazing instrument!
thank you for the kind comment - sorry for the late response!
I was wondering, what are the drum machines used in the intro

Hello, great video, is it possibile to trigger the single voices of the Deton8 via an external midi keyboard/pad controller and sequence it from an external sequencer?
I had one back in the 80’s. Couldn’t remember who made it
Hello! Great video, instant GAS! Could you sends your samples sounds, they’re awesome, looks perfect tailored for this tiny beast! Thxxxx

The "Matchbox" synthesizer concept... And... does it SOUND?
10 years ago I used to get from Viscount (!) the technical sheets of that R64. It says the PCM sounds are 12 bits samples, rather than 8 bits. Some of the instruments (I don't precisely remember which ones as I write this) are 100% analogue.
I know RSF because of the poly kobol and because JM Jarre use some of those legendary synth, i saw another french singer from the 80's that use there drum machine, i never heard before they build kind of DMX or linndrum style, this sound interesting, most people complain about the many bugs of there product, but it sound realy unique, hope Arturia guy's try to replicate that on software or hardware.
they actually built 3 cool drum machines (dd15, dd3o and this one) i also have a kobol (but no poly) - they did sone very unique and great sounding synths 🔈👌
@@onedrumcomputeraday196 very lovely crunchy sound, some gear freak rebuild some real 8 and 12 bit dac circuit could be interesting, i have an old SP 202 back in the day with just 30 khz of res it make every drum loop beafy as fuck, but some plug in do that very well and also simulate the analog filtering process even my roland trigger e drum module have a bit crusher , but an hardware rebuilt of some drum machine like SP 1200 E-mu or that one could be cool.
jeff porcaro used the quad on boz scaggs' we're waiting
oh and how could i forget carly simon-nobody does it better and hall & oates beauty on a back street
Just curious, are there any tracks for reference where this was used?
You mentioned better ones out there. which ones exactly and why ? and I mean from the same era.
Wow, this is really cool. I want one! And the Rhythm Stick, neat! I wish your hands were in the picture so we could see you playing its pads. Thanks for making this video.
Pfff. Wbat a fucking machine, sound very warm... What a groovy last rhythm!!
Knaller-Sammlung, Steve!
This “crap” tends to be far more expensive than modern “good” equipment, and for good reason. It’s far more interesting. You obviously know this, otherwise you wouldn’t have bought them
This made me feel much better about my decision to buy a hydrasynth desktop
Sehr Cool! Nice Machine. More Vids please, lieber Steve;-)
Build wild chilled ? N augenöffner biste , danke !
Thanks you great video, The sound of the snare is different from mine.
The Cars' David Robinson was actually using 8 of these (two Quad units) at one point. Alan Myers of Devo used a Twin during 1979 and 1980 (it's probably what they used for the sounds on General Boy Visits Apocalypse Now)
Sample pack pleaseeeee :o
amazing sounds and seemless transitions! Congrats! From your viewpoint, which is the best synth for ambient/film scoring purposes? This Hydra, or Novation Peak/summit? Or something else, or both together? :)
Ed DMX Krew sent me here. I like how he made a sort of clone of it when his rsf was stolen because he had little or no hope of finding another one.
yeah - that’s the most prominent use of the 140. his clone actually looks & sounds pretty cool 🔈👌
Damn this is awesome! Love and hate this channel at the same time ehehe
haha - thx a lot :)
