i basically do and its great! i've got the ser 7 which is almost the same. bought it in october last year and i'm using it everyday for watching videos or light to medium gaming. cant complain
The saving grace of this mini PC in the sea of mini PC's is the integrated AMD 780m GPU. It is going to have the same graphics horsepower as the handheld market.
The cutaways to our Adventure Time bros warm my heart every time. Currently have an SER5Max running Batocera. It'll run just about anything emulation-wise, not to mention the steam titles that run in linux. Still watched because Beelink has impressed me with their hardware.
It's all about the Mac Mini/ Intel NUC form factor. If it is your thing, I guess it's OK. If you do not know what your "thing" is, Best Buy and Micro Center always have entry level gaming laptops on sale with a similar price point and better performance (Dedicated Graphics Card). Same thing applies to pre-built and roll- your -own. I am just happy Tech Dweeb got another free PC. That is all that matters anyway.
I've got a good 2-3 years remaining for my current desktop and I'm definitely leaning towards one of these mini PCs when it's time to upgrade it. I really am tired of paying $300-500 for a "good" video card alone so if the power of the iGPUs keeps up I'm highly tempted to go this route in the future. It's just so much more...minimal
@@SpongeBob.Ripped I switched from Steam Deck to AyaNeo Slide a few months back and it's nice having full Windows AND a physical keyboard. I hated the pop up on the ROG Ally. It's got the same 780M as this mini PC and I have yet to run into a game I can't at least run on low settings and play
@@TheFTPchannel I've liked GPD for a long time but in terms of price to performance they literally couldn't compete with steam even if they wanted to. I like the integrated GPUs that come with Ryzen. I have a Ryzen 5 with the radeon whatever and it is pretty surprisingly decent for a lot of things. If this one can do that well with Cyberpunk, it can definitely run anything I want to run on it just fine. The price point is still a little less than I expect to pay for my eventual desktop replacement, and I have Prime. ;)
I'm a bit of a fan of these 780m mini pcs. I have the 7940HS, but have yet to actually do anything with it other than compare it to my other PCs. The best thing I can say about it is that it's amazingly efficient.
Amazing video as always Dweeb! Everytime I see you review one of those, I think to myself I should pick one up and see if I like 'em, plus this one got all the holes! 🤣
Thanks my dude! I'm constantly amazed at how far these things have come. Crazy to think that you'd need a big desktop PC from not that long ago to compare to tiny things like this!
I did the same thing with elden ring. I bought the dlc and now I have to remember how to play. This mini PC looks pretty good and the price is really good too.
At about the 4 minute mark I had to pause the video at the specs and went "Woah hold on, how much does this thing cost, (clicks link) ... ohh... okay, no wonder." Twice the price of my current computer, after upgrades.
I hear ya about that Doom section. I remember it well, but buck up little camper, we'll conquer that level together. I have a BeeLink in my bedroom and I love it even though I hardly ever use it. And a tip of the hat for the shout-out to that Crucial drive. I want one of those... bad.
The problem isn't that there aren't enough charging cables to feed starving children. It's the charging cable distribution system that needs to change. They are delicious though.
see if you can find a good deal on the beelink ser 7. same graphics, only slightly slower cpu. been using it everyday for 7-8 months now and its great.
You might consider yourself bad at DOOM Eternal, but at least you've gotten further than I did. I only reached the subway and the room just after the jump with two Cacodemons at once. Gave it an hour of trying then uninstalled. :/
I was just about to choose between ser7 and ayaneo am02 and ser8 came out pre order in China. I purchased 32g/1T version for €480 which is 40 euro cheaper than the am02. The only negative part from reviews is the WiFi performance so I bought an Intel ax210 wifi card. I'll change it if the WiFi is too bad.
TechDweeb once again “put me on game” when it comes to Steam games 😂😂😂 Yeah I’m just going to keep a small 4TB SSD… Duh. Why didn’t I think of that? Like seriously.. I enjoyed the video bro❤

Got 2 gaming laptops this year, one higher and one mid range so I'm good but these things are really nice. Just imagine when the cpus get alittle older you'd be able get a 'weak' laptop with these cheap. The laptop form of these cpus reaches the 1000$ mark and more right now so there's no point getting those over a dGPU laptop mid range.
Hmmm seems like a cool little box, won't lie though, kinda would have loved to see the thermal temperature. Just cause it is usually one of the biggest marks against these small boxes, but that's not how you review stuff these days. Seems fairly capable, but yeah even for all that 650$ ouch yeah everything is more expensive today, and you would have a hard time putting a full tower together for the same price, I just find it hard to spend that much on a computer of this size with a limited upgrade path. As stated it is a hard thing to do but if you keep expectations in check then you can put a tower together and still have a upgrade path, but more than likely your going to have to buy used and open box parts
The fact this mini pc runs Cyberpunk at basically the same performance of my nassive desktop PC is insane and slightly depressing XD But its also really good cause PC Gamng is getter cheaper and cheaper to get started with now!!
And they’re 15% off right now, under $300 for a Steam Deck is a steal! Less than half the price of this mini PC, and you can use the money you saved to buy a new SSD to upgrade to 2TB
Hey Tech Dweeb, did you happen to try running Baldurs Gate 3 on this? I've been thinking about getting a mini PC over a standard one as PC gaming is not my primary gaming method, but for me something like BG3 would be a benchmark for what I would want it to play relatively well.
