A decade or so from now they should reboot the Golden Girls with the cast from Facts of Life.
The GG cast played in their mid 60s in the late 80s back when people in their mid 60s looked ancient. But now I bet when most of the Facts cast gets to their mid 60's will look way younger.
Lisa'd have to play Blanche, the HOT Girl, though seeing her singint TFOL theme in the Eastland schoolgirl uniform, who's seriously gonna think she's a retiree?
@@joemckim1183 60 year olds looked ancient because we were young. Now that we're old, old doesn't look as old as it used to! 😂
@@stephenshelton4267 I know what you're saying but look at what 60 year olds looked like in the 1960s in comparison to what they look like nowadays. You tend you look more broken down and worn out when you get married and start having kids when you're in your early 20s like was more common back in the day.
@@joemckim1183 I'm still not sure. For example a show that I think aged well was Three's Company. I vaguely remember watching new episodes as a child and continuously here and there throughout life. There's something about the grainy low-res video, hairstyles, or clothing or sonething that always makes John Ritter seem older than me.
That said I believe you're right in that a sife-by-side comparison of 60 year old actors from the 1960s would look older than those of today primarily because of cosmetic surgery and botox, things people in that industry use extensively, and the technology keeps improving. Also people have made a few behavioral changes that help because smoking is no longer commonplace and people know about the dangers of sunbathing. Also, we're fatter and one of the few benefits of fat is a more youthful face with fewer wrinkles and less of a boney look. My sister ran into Tom Cruise a few years ago and he looks 30 like he does in current films.
But I also think our own increase in age plays a huge role, outside of entertainment cosmetic surgery isnt as common and I find old people looking younger. When I was a kid my mom's hairdressin salon had a mother and daughter that came in together. As a kid I thought they were ancient! But they lived about 30 more years! I was a bit scared of people in their 70s when I was about 10 because they looked either gross or a horroble monster, but now people in their 70s dont seem that way to me at all.
She aged flawlessly! I love her, she's so down to earth.
Nancy Mkeon did staged a walk out during season 5 over higher pay which lead to her missing one episode but they finally gave into her demand and ahe returned to Facts the following week.Nancy McKeon as Jo is definitely an important asset to the show and of course they weren't going to just let her walk like that.
I really rooted for her when she was on Survivor.

Nice interview, but what she said about them not having any big contract disputes behind the scenes isn't true. At the beginning of season six, Nancy McKeon was holding out for more money and didn't show up for work and was slapped with $1 million breach of contract lawsuit. It was settled out of court and she came back, after being given a substantial raise. The other girls were also given raises.
dav1237 OK. that was one thing. But just the fact they all worked together well is awesome. There will always be flaws no matter what. But as long as most of it was positive, thats wonderful. 😊
