The Facts taught me so much about the things in life that were challenging to deal with through the pre-teen & teen years. If we fast forward to age 38, the most amazing point of this show is that I'm still walking away after each episode knowing I took something with me, even at this age. Whether it was something that was said, certain body language or even the smallest detail.... I see each episode with a whole new meaning that still teaches me about myself. The respect I have for each actress, in each their own unique way, is beyond what words can explain. Life plays out much differently than what one believes 'it should be'. Each day, month & year are all stepping stones of life. Thank you girls for being with me during the rough patches when no one else seems to be.
I bought this dvd, as it came with the FOL complete series set. Wonderful show and wonderful cast They don't make them like this anymore, unfortunately. There is a lot of garbage on TV now. Just wish Kim Fields could've been there as well.
The only thing that's worse about TV now is the abundance of reality shows. In every other aspect, TV is far better now than it was 40 years ago. And i say this as a guy in my 40's who grew up with these shows. Don't get me wrong, there was a lot of great programming in the 70's and 80's, but there was also a ton of garbage back then, too. But we remember the stuff that's great, because that's where the memories reside.
Watching facts of life always makes me happy and i wish antenna tv would bring it back. I loved everyone on the show you all are wonderful actors and actresses but more than that you're wonderful people. God bless you
OMG I watched The Facts Of Life when I was growing up. I absolutely loved that show. It was so refreshing and entertaining and to see after all these years the guinine sister love these ladies have for each other is so great.
I did watch you All this weekend- Did plan it- got all the goodies- No interruptions- it was Wonderful- Thank you!!! Love you Then love you Now- Many blessings to u All!!!
I really like that McKeon appeared for this one. Maybe their rolls on the show seemed babyish to their current and post-FOL characters of the era- but, at least they still have made sure to pay homage to themselves, the show and character details that seriously DID launch each of them into superstardom. F sakes, I know I'd seriously try my best to do appearances if I were to be on a household name show like that.☝🏻☺️
this show launched when i was one I remember being a small child and watching it all the time.. i didn't understand thier references but loved it anyways
I'm in my 50s and loved this show from its beginning. My nieces are all in their 20s and 30s but have watched the reruns for years. They always tell me that I looked and had a personality like 'Jo' in my teens, twenties, and thirties. What a compliment! All of the girls (and women) were/are lovely and it is great to see them reminiscing about FOL. That show was clean, moral, funny, and had some great lessons for us along the way. Heartwarming to see this. Thanks for the upload.
I am a 50 yr old dude. I grew up with this show. I recently went back and started to watch all episodes of the show. This show was great when I was a kid, and still great now that I am a freakn old man lol. I saw the episode the other night where Tootie was going to 'become a woman (lose her virginity to her boyfriend) but she changed her mind and wanted to wait Cloris Leachman ( 'Beverly Ann') was in this episode as Charlotte Rae had left the show. Anyway, Tootie is telling Beverly Ann what did not happen that night, and her reasons and feelings about changing her mind about not going all the way and how her boyfriend no longer wanted to see her etc but she keep her values and virtue and did not give in to her boyfriend, and Beverly Ann says to Tootie , "Congratulations on becoming a woman tonight.." And Tootie says , "I told you I didn't" ..then Beverly Ann says to Tootie , "Oh yes you did". OMG I HAD TEARS FALLING..LOL..Such a great moment and response. LOVED IT.
Wow, I have tears in my eyes just reading that scene. Beautiful. What a lovely and effective way to convey a powerful message w/o being preachy. I don't think I was watching by the time Cloris Leachman was on the show. When I saw her in a quick clip, I recognized her and then saw her at the TV Land awards w/ the rest of the cast, and I figured she must have replaced Charlotte Rae at some point. I liked this show when I was a kid, but don't remember any of the scenes or storylines. It's great to see them again.
I hardly remember it, but was a young guy too then and probably watched for the obvious reasons. I watched a couple of documentaries and noticed just how many social issues they tackled. All the great comedies of the nineties were pretty great but really didn't touch social issues in that way. Maybe they did it differently I don't know, or maybe I didn't watch the shows where they had more attention to social issues, but it seems that television is often ABOUT social issues now, but doesn't really 'confront' them if you know what I mean. I'm not even sure I do, maybe I'm just old enough that I'm starting to say "huffwheez TV sure was better when I was a kid".
Really wish you guys would post the entire video for the HUGE FOL fans who were working/busy during the live stream and would love to see and catch up with the cast!!!
I grew up with the Facts cast....I actually was a star struck person, so I thought it would be cool to be able to talk to Lisa. Back in the 70's, it was easy to call up the studio and say, can I talk to Lisa? When I did call, Kim Fields answered the phone and asked me if I was somebody else, then gave the phone to Lisa! I was thrilled! But, reality set in, and I had no clue as to what to say! I didn't think that far in advance! I remember asking stupid questions, and saying something. This was before the Rebecca Schaefer murder, so after that happened, gone were the opportunities to have access to actors/actresses!
Even though this Show was an all Girl Cast, It also attracted Male viewers. It's important for Young Men to understand what Young Women go through in Life and the other way around.
I was obviously not a Teenage girl in the 80s, But I understand the influence and impact FOL had on a lot not only Teenage girls in the 80s but other people as well. Too bad shows like this don't exist anymore
Trevor, I think the whole video will be on The Facts of Life Complete Series set. You can get it from Shout! Factory's website by December 16 and everywhere else January 13.
Shira Schweitzer Absolutely. I only have seasons 1 & 2 and was just about to order 3, 4, and 5 but I'm gonna wait till January and get the set. Can't wait.

I absolutely loved this show. Although, I wasn't very fond of Tootie. And not for the reason you're thinking. She was overly opinionated and a little pushy. And she got worse as she got older. And Blair at times was overly conceited. She was obnoxiously disgusting. But, for the most part I really liked the show.

This show was awesome! Nancy is a very beautiful person. All of them are beautiful.

This show really needs to be talked about more.
How Lisa took Nancy's hand was the sweetest thing. That's sisterly love. That was a genuinely touching moment.
