Awesome video Shane!!! I always wanted to know how to do this. I can see it in stores now...Shane's Homemade Maple Syrup....and VT thinks they own the market for it...lol
Thanks I am really enjoying learning all about the maple syrup process. It something I've always wanted to do.. I'll have a few more videos yet sharing my maple syrup making journey. :)
Big body of water frozen & you outside talking about how warm it is & the jacket was not needed 🤣🤣... you Canadians are on a different level 💪hard to get me outside in the winter. I hibernate lol
LOL yeah we've had a very unusual winter this year.. winter started late and ended early. Very little snow and mild temps.. Poor for cross country skiing but much easier to get around in a wheelchair and less shovelling!
Lmao yes 🎉 lol i totally feel u , i got so excited during the entire process too 🎉🙏im 45 n Dude it was my first time in my entire life, i just finished . !!! How cool eh, i was like wtf ... Why have i never done this b4 🤦🏽♀️😜. I ended up getting 1 quart jar from about 15 blue buckets. I actually infused it with Chaga muchroom 😉. N dont forget to always "thank the trees for their beautiful gifts" 😉💫 Dude cheers to us for always learning 🙏💫🎉. Side note ... I don't think u will taste a maply strup better then ur own 😉. I even out it in my coffee 😉
Hi There! I am having so much fun learning the process. It's something I've always wanted to do but I never had access to maples. When got the property three years ago I immediately said to myself "I'm tapping those trees" However, there was too much snow the previous winters for me to access the trees. I had everything ready to tap.. I just had to wait.. then this winter we hardly had any snow and opportunity knocked.. I had to cause who knows when the next time I'll be able to reach those trees.. I just posted a video of me collecting for the first time.. that video was taken about 10 days ago.. I have since collected two more times.. the sap is flowing really good. I had to buy another 20L container and extra bottles. I've also done 2 more boils since this video. I'll post my first boil hopefully by this wednesday.. then a "live" collecting sap this Monday (maybe) weather pending. Then final video will be wrap up talking about my whole experience :) I love it.. no snow or snow.. I'll find a way to reach those trees next year!!

I have friends up near Ottawa that have been tapping the trees in their yard the last couple years and making syrup...I think it's pretty cool.
