MashAllah brother! Thank you so much for this very useful videos, I converted a few years ago, this is the first time I found very usual material step by step
Asalam alaykum, may Allah shower you with his blessings for the help you give to us reverts. Your videos are exactly what we need to help us on our journey.
Asalam alaikoum, I'm a new teacher of new Muslims. Your videos are helping me to understand more about the way I should treat them. Jazak Allah khir, thank you. Keep up the good work 👍
I love this, I began reading Quran during the World Cup when I realized there must be an online version. It even includes live Mecca, bishmallah allahuakbar🧘🏻. There’s a mosque near me and this video makes my journey to Mecca a holy amount much more holier. Thank you for what you do, master☺️.
So I’m 18 years old, and have been raised Christian growing up. I have been going to Christian churches basically my whole life. But I could never fully believe in the religion of christianity. It’s just too hard to understand, and when I ask questions about stuff they just tell me to have faith. I really want to learn more about Islam because I think that they truly worship god. And plus I’ve witnessed so much bad stuff go on in the churches I used to go to. From pastors stealing the churches money for their own benefit, to women being sexually abused by the pastor. I’ve even went to party’s where I was served alcohol underage and allot of the people was from my church that was doing this, and I didn’t even know they did that stuff because they acted so different when they went to church. I have a local mosque where I can go to but I don’t know much about Islam and I feel I would accidentally disrespect them. Anyone have tips of what I should do? Should I just go and talk to the people over there?
Yes, don't hesitate, go and asked the will welcome with open arms, and they will help you answer your questions, If you have a specific question you can ask me, if I can give you the answer
I am a Scottish person brought up atheist, i feel like Allah for me is the one true god, I have alot to learn about Islam and feel very scared of going to my local Mosque as I'm very self conscious. Every Muslim i have met has beeb very kind but I still feel self-conscious attending a local mosque as i am a white male with very little arabic language. Could anyone be some help to me. inshallah if i typed that correctly.
please do not worry, muslim are very accepting no matter what religion or race you came from, if someone isnt accepting he isnt a good muslim, they will teach you through and you will take your shahada انشالله (inshallah)
I'm also Scottish and a revert. I live in the Netherlands and have yet to go to the masjid here. I have been to one in Indonesia, it was my first experience in the masjid. I was very nervous because I'm a tall white guy but everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Insha Allah everything will go well. Allah knows best.
It’s likely you won’t stick out anywhere near as much as you’ll feel. People are generally very understanding so don’t worry. It’s okay to ask for help too. But it’s normal to feel as though all eyes are on you, trust me it’s more than likely that’s not the case and people are simply going about their daily prayers :)
As Salam alaykum brother. I am a revert myself (took shahada myself in August). Two questions, when I enter prayer hall can I pray Tahiyat Al Masjid anywhere? Or does it have to be right up the front? Also, I heard that the front row is usually for very pious or more regular Muslims who come, so I’m worried that if not many people have arrived yet should I place my mat down on front row? Last question, sometimes I see photos of Muslims sitting down at the sides of the prayer hall reading or on their phone?? I’m confused, is it allowed to just hang out in the prayer hall like this? Sorry for all the questions but really appreciate if you could answer. I’ve gone to go to the masjid twice now but each time I am outside I don’t have the courage to go in and then I feel depressed the rest of the day because I didn’t go in. Worried about sticking out (as a white person) or making a mistake…I don’t like a lot of attention 🤣
Wa alaykumu salam brother, would you mind sending me an email thinkrevert@gmail.com and I can discuss this in more detail with you? You don’t have to re-write the question, just let me know it’s you 🙂
i’m in the exact same position. I’m a born Bosnian muslim but we never practiced anything basically grew up atheist. But i can’t bare up the courage to step inside the masjid
As salaam alaikum with the permission of My brother, Yes you can pray Tahiyat Al Masjid anywhere you want. Except at Friday Prayer recommended to be closer to the front when there's a space of course. There is no such rules in the house of Allah that the first row is for a special people. Expect in The month of Ramadan preferred who ever close to the Imam someone who memorise the book helping Imam in case forgot or make mistake to recorect him. Salaam
Hello, I hope by now you have went. Today was my first day, I am white. I went with a friend so that made it a lot easier so our situations maybe might not be the same but I still had some anxiety so I hope it helps someone reading this at any point. I felt like maybe I got a few looks when I went to do wudu but I am new they never seen me before, as I did it I didn’t feel any weird looks or anything. Islam isn’t a race, my Masjid is all different types of races. I was towards the middle back, I felt like I blended in fine. At my Masjid there are so many people, maybe it is harder for smaller ones but I hope sharing my experience helps.
Hey my brother is a revert and I study religions and I would like to pray with my brother but I’m scared I won’t be accepted as I’m very clearly part of the LGBT community 🤦🏽♀️ what do I do? Also can I still pray if I’m not Muslim ?
Hey, thank you for this Video. I have made my way to islam very good so far by learning the prayer and more about islam. But i havent prayed in a masjid yet. I have no one to bring who could Tell how everything Works. For Example do i pray the regular amount of rakat like 4 when its time for dhuhr or do i pray 2 rakats because im not at home. And if im finished with my prayer can i stay where i prayed to read quran and wait for the next prayer or is it not allowed to wait there. Thanks
You follow the leader of the prayer, all the prayers are the same as you would pray at home, in terms of how many units. Yes there is normally no restrictions to sit and read the Quran as you like. Some mosques do close during certain times as they many not have someone who works there full time. They would inform you of this, if they needed to close and saw you were sitting and reading. One tricky thing is if you join the prayer late and you’ve missed some units of prayer. It’s hard for me to explain so I recommend asking the imaam.
Yeah that's correct Abu Sa’id al-Khudri reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The entire earth has been made a place of prayer, except for graveyards and washrooms.” Source: Sunan al-Tirmidhī 317 Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Ibn Taymiyyah
I'm trying to start praying at the mosque, I'm confused what time should I go to the mosque? On calendars there's a time for when the azan actually is and another called section called "jam'ah", what time should I be there to pray? 🙏🏽
Go just before the “jam’ah” time. Sometimes the adhan is called at the beginning time of the prayer but the group prayer (jam’ah) in the mosque doesn’t always start at that time
I want give you advice..Remember Allah very much or zikrullah very much so that you will be feel enjoy your iman..and learn islam with a teacher so that you dont lost iman.TQ
I have a question, I want to do shahadah, when do I go? Do I go on friday? at what time? Do I just enter and say "I want to do shahadah"? will they instruct me on prayers? I know nothing major, I know church is on sunday at 10:00-12:00, how about mosque?
You can email or message me on instagram and we can talk more if you like. It will be easier to give you advice. Yes you can just turn up to a mosque and ask for guidance (in theory - I guess it depends on the mosque and who you meet of course). But the most important thing is to ask Allah to guide you, sincerely. Pray to him as much as you can and beg him to guide you to the truth, put your trust in God alone, first and foremost.
Wa alaykumu salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh. Do you mean after the prayer has concluded? Or as the final part of the prayer (you finish by saying salam to the right and then left)
I’m not sure 100%, maybe you can find the answer here: islamqa.info/en/answers/212039/is-it-prescribed-for-the-imam-to-greet-the-people-in-the-mosque-when-he-comes-in
Generally most mosques pray 5 times per day. If you check in the video at 5:45 it explains how you may find the timetables near the entrance of the mosque. But normally, you can search online - either on the mosque’s website or Facebook page and you can find the timetable for the month there. Hope this helps
Yeah, I suggest looking online for a mosque near you and possibly try to contact them to arrange this. God willing they will be willing to assist you. Not all mosques are the same, people are different, so if the first place you contact doesn’t help, try somewhere else. Hope this helps
