Bismillah wa alhamdulillah, Asalam alaykum and welcome to the beginner’s guide to Islam series.
By the end of this video you will know and understand:
- The meaning of purity in Islam
- How to perform the Ghusl (shower/bath)
- How to make the full ablution which is required before prayer
- How to clean yourself appropriately when going to the bathroom according to the sunnah of the prophet (PBUH)

I want to strongly state that I am not claiming to be a scholar, nor am I claiming that this video series is the be all and end all of information. I am simply trying to provide a video series that I would have found extremely useful when I reverted to Islam. I am also very concerned for new Muslims that take their shahada via their own research online (like myself) and do not have good brothers/sisters to help them with the life changes that will be required. As without guidance (as to what to do next), Islam can be very complicated and confusing, not to mention these Muslims can very easily be led (unknowingly) into innovation and/or extremism.

I'm new to Islam, I'm in tears because I feel so lost.. I want to find a community I feel so alone. I went to my local Masjid and felt so out of place..but I want to worship properly.
Brother or sister, your comment make me realize I'm not alone in this new convert journey either. My country is not a Muslim one, there's no Halal food, spaces to pray, behavior is very Haram (Even myself was there at some point), and the closest Mosque for me is like 3 to 4 hours away, plus I need to pay extra transport and I don't have such resources now.
May Allah give us strength to follow the right path. ✨

Assalamu alaykum my brother. I knew you posted the video over 3 weeks ago, but I saw the it was about 43 minutes long and did not want to watch it unless I really had the time to stay fully focused. Having watched previous videos in your "Beginners Guide to Islam" series, I knew I was going to benefit massively from this one, and Alhamdulillah I did! That's such a wonderful video and I got hooked up all the way till the end. Sheikh Muhammad Tim Humble explains the steps of ablution beautifully. You too did a really good job detailing the process of making ghusl and istinjaa/istijmar and I like that you also pointed out the caveats/stipulations around some of the aspects of purification. I have to say that this series does not only benefit new muslims/converts/reverts, but also refreshes the memories of born Muslims, myself included and I am continuously learning from what you have to offer. I can tell how much effort you have put into this video and I really appreciate you. Jazak Allah khayr my dear brother. May the Most High ﷻ reward your efforts immensely.

This matter lasts for 350 years, then the Son of Man comes to remove the abomination of desolation that Daniel and Christ spoke about from the Holy Land .. Titus destroyed the God's House and burned it {Titus from the Roman Empire}. After the destruction of the God's House the abomination of desolation .. By establishing a House for the pagan gods on it then They made it a ruin in which women dumped menstrual waste ... and this is what Omar ibn al-Khattab found in 638 A.D. upon the conquest of Jerusalem. He cleaned the place and rebuilt God's House

I think the teacher overacted some little, for example, madmada can be done with right hand three times, then Estenshaq can be done with left hand three times, head wipping can be done for coplete head or a part of it, also wudoo depends on the cleanliness case you are in, supose you are a worker, or a farmer and your face, head, neck, are entirly dusted and your hands are dirty with grease
Then you can wash your hands more than three times, unlimted up to you can clean them well, also you can wipe your neck also not only the head, finaly, Washing hands up to the elbow can be done according to the available technique, if you perform ablution from a high tap in a washbasin, or if someone pours water on you, then You pass your arm under the water falling on you, But if you are drawing water from a bowl with your fist, it is natural that you raise your fist up so that the water descends on your arm until it reaches the elbow , This is the Sunnah because it is understood that these current technologies did not exist in the days of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and no one can claim that if these technologies were present in the time of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, he would not have used them, and every Muslim in our days can perform ablution This is how the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, also performed ablution

The Kalimah (The Word): The Testimony Of Faith
Ibnul Qayyim rahimahullaah mentions:
And I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allaah alone, He has no partners. (This is) a Kalimah (statement) upon which the Heavens and the Earth are established. It is what Allaah has created all the created beings upon. Upon it the religion was established, and the Qiblah was erected, and for it the swords of Jihaad were drawn. And with it Allaah, the One free from all imperfections, has commanded all of His worshippers. So it is Allaah’s Fitrah (the natural inclination to worship Allaah alone) upon which he created the whole of mankind. And it is the key to His servitude, to which He called all the nations through the tongues (i.e. the different languages and speech) of the Messengers (who called) to it. And it is the Kalimah of Islaam. And it is the key to the Abode of Peace (i.e. the Hereafter), it is the foundation for Fard (obligatory matters) and the Sunnah. And he whose last words are ‘Laa ilaaha illallaah’ will enter Jannah (Paradise).

Christian women converting, what is required with clothing and can you dress without the hijab, wear pants etc?
As a new revert you can take your time until you feel ready, but just so you know, a hijab is required for all women who have hit puberty, and the only exception would be old women who have lost their beauty and have no desire to marry.
And the proper hijab must fit within these guidelines:
1. Should cover all the body except the face and hands.
2. Should not be an adornment in and of itself.
3. Should be thick and not transparent or see-through.
4. Should be loose.
5. Should not be perfumed.
6. Should not resemble the clothing of men.
7. Should not resemble the dress of disbelieving women (eg. the dress of nuns.)
8. Should not be a garment of fame and vanity.
And the hijab must be worn when around any males except the following:
Your Husband, Father, Father in law, sons, stepsons, brothers, nephews, and any young children who are still not aware of sexual matters.

So I noticed during the mouth and nose cleanse, he actually snorted the water. I was doing this and got a horrible sinus infection. I was told just getting the water into the nose and out without getting the water further back was acceptable. Can anyone clarify this

Thank you so much, this is amazing. Do we make wudoo in shower? no running water of course, but as to not make a mess. Or is it outside bathroom in place we pray? Does water temperature matter?
You can do it in the shower, but usually it's more convenient to do it in the sink, and with practice you will learn how to do it without making much of a mess.
You can do wudu with water of any temperature.
And bonus fact:
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not tell you something by which Allah erases sins and elevates ranks (in Paradise)?" The Companions said: "Certainly, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "Performing the ablution properly even in difficulty, increasing attendance of prayer in the mosque, and waiting for the next prayer after observing one prayer; and this is jihad."
Sahih/Authentic. - [Muslim]
This next part is the explanation of the hadith:
"Firstly: Performing the ablution properly even in difficulty, as during the days of winter, when the water is cold. So if a person completes his ablution given this hardship, this is proof of his completeness of faith. Thereby, Allah will raise his rank and erase his sins. Secondly: Attending the five daily prayers in the mosque, even if it is far. Thirdly: Having the desire to pray. Every time he finishes a prayer, his heart is attached to the next one. This is proof of his faith, love, and desire to pray more of these great prayers. If he awaits prayer after prayer, this is among the reasons for which Allah raises his rank and erases his sins. Then the Prophet informed that constant commitment to purification (ablution), prayer, and worship is like Jihad for the sake of Allah."

You just need to wet your hands and wipe over your hair (as women with long hair do too). You don’t need to wash the scalp when doing wudoo. I’m sure he mentions this in the video, hope it helps

I'm a new Muslim and I have a question. When it comes to do the ghusl, do I have to be fully naked or have to be wearing minimal clothes (like underwear) or do I have to be fully clothes?
That doesn’t make a difference. You don’t have to be wearing any clothes, nor do you have to be naked. Hopes this helps?

No, sorry if I wasn’t clear. You can be fully naked.
If you wanted to wear clothes for any reason (let’s say you were in a place where someone may see you so you need to cover yourself), whether minimal, or more, it doesn’t make any difference for the ghusl.

Hello i was born in united states i have done alot of sins i am turning to allah for forgiveness.
So say your privates itch, and you gotta itch real quick and you do it on the outside of your clothes, you're still pure? Did I understand that right?
And I'm curious why we were instructed not to wipe the neck... And I can only assume this ritual cannot be performed in a shower while bathing to save time?

It doesn’t specify outside of clothes but it mentions regarding touching with desire and without desire.
In regards to wiping the neck, it is not a part of the ritual that the Prophet sws used to do, therefore we don’t do it. You can perform it in the shower, it doesn’t matter if water goes on your neck. I think it’s worth watching the video again as it may charity. Hope this helps
