This is a superb moment of musical beauty. Young Aksel proves once again what a divine gift he has and is. The cello obligato is masterfully handled. This performance is one of the most satisfying moments of recorded music i've ever experienced. Heavenly!!!

Looking forward to your second Cd release Aksel. Even though I'm still disappointed that you did not end up recording a record in Norwegian, perhaps folk music etc, I am more than pleased with your classical records on CD and performances on youtube.
Well, even though I enjoy singing Norwegian folk music as a chorister in Oslo Cathedral Boys' Choir, classical music is what I am most at home with as a soloist. The new CD will be released very soon, on March 9, and it will have a nice version of this Handel aria.

Both voice and cello are outstanding. The sensitivity and musical"breathing" of both are supremely beautiful. That's no small feat!

today I visited my 80 years old mother, she sang in a choir until the age 75, she loves to sing her whole life and in my childhood she always sung with me, me the first and she the second part to all melodies we sang together.
Today for the first time I showed her a few of your
singing-videos and she was so happy to hear you and she always said: Oh, my good boy, it sounds so beautiful, you sing with your whole heart and soul , ist's so joyful for me to hear you, you feel the spirit of the music! Thank you!

Perhaps you still know that I am musictherapist for old people, I give a concert to them every week , I am playing pieces on the piano or I am singing for them or we hear music together, sometimes with artists, for example : Erna Sack, Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, Fritz Wunderlich, Joseph Schmidt and I offered them your Haendel Aria you sang with a trumpet! I told them about you and your development an they we're so astonished that your voice sounds clear and brilliant like the trumpet
All of them we're so happy to hear you and they gave a big applause for you and they send you greetings and many many thanks. I promised them to write this to you.
And with another old woman I heard " voi che sapete" and she began to crie because it sounds so beautiful to her!

Kongsberg Church (Kongsberg kirke) is a located at Kongsberg in Buskerud county, Norway. [1]
Kongsberg Church was constructed of brick and designed with a cruciform floorplan. The design of the church was inspired by Garnisons Church in Copenhagen. The church contains a richly decorated roccoco interior. Virtually all fixtures in the church are of wood, but pillars and surfaces have been marbled. The whole church has a cool blue color as a result. On either side of the altar and pulpit are the pillars that bear the organ gallery above. The Baroque organ is from 1765 and made by organ builder Gottfried Heinrich Gloger. The baptismal font was carved out of marble extracted from Holmestrand in Vestfold.
The church was designed by Joachim Andreas Stukenbrock and the construction period lasted from 1740 to 1761. The sanctuary includes ceiling decorations by Eric Gustav Tunmarck. Among the driving forces behind the decoration and interior of the church was mining engineer Michael Heltzen. In 1928, Tinius Olsen gave a major donation to the restoration of the organ which was water damage in the late 1880s. [2][3][4][5]

J'ai joué ce type de petit orgue à l'abbaye de Landévennec, il n'est pas évident car le clavier est très sensible, au contraire d'autres , et les touches très étroites !
J'aimerais beaucoup accompagner de nouveau du baroque dans la région du Finistère, en Bretagne...
Aksel, you are wonderful and I enjoy listening to you so much. I am a coloratura soprano, so I sort of know how hard it is to sing like you do, but at the same time I can't imagine being as good as you are at your age. Keep up the good work, I'm excited to see where your singing takes you :)

Wonderful performance! And personally, I think performing baroque pieces with period instrument musicians such as this (vs. modern instrument groups) takes your performance to a higher level - it helps you reveal the beauty and true soul of Handel's music and lets your talent shine even brighter. You are very gifted.

circa1720 totally agree with your comments, Bach, Mozart, and a host of German composers from the same period all brilliant, but Handel played on period instruments as here unbeatable when sung as beautifully as this. Well done to all concerned.

I do know of another treble having a go at this piece. To me those two very long sentences look very difficult to interpret meaningfully within the music: which is probably why I have not been asked to sing it. I am so glad I survived our schoolmaster's attempt to destroy our love of music.

Which is easier for you, english or german or dutch? French, Italian too?
For singing? Italian, I think. Although I can't speak it and have to learn the meaning of the words for every song, it has wonderful sounds for singing.
If ever a language was designed to sing in, it's Italian. Well worth learning just because it sounds so awesome.
He sings a lot of Handel. That music no doubt was written for the treble voice, because women were no permitted to perform in those days.
The CD is 63 minutes of entertaining music although his fans will be sorry Aksel sings on only half the numbers .
