The Broncos will take a stallion RB this upcoming draft. Javonte Williams knows the offense well, but I'll be shocked if he's back next year. McLaughlin isn't some foundational piece either. That entire room could use a shakeup.
Nothing will change until Payton has an every down back instead of running back by committee. Bo Nix had more rushing yards than any of the running backs. Jaleel: outside the tackles. Javonte: between the tackles but used more for blocking in the pass game. Estime: between the tackles but can’t pass block. If nix is under center….85% chance it’s a run play. When the keys defenses use to read an offense is easy….it means the offense isn’t disguising the play called. Need to make one back the every down back. And leave it at that. That way…defenses would have to respect both. And keep Nix in the shotgun. As it is….defenses don’t have to do a whole lot of guessing to do…..and that is the problem. I’d start with Javonte because of his pass blocking ability. And if he can’t get it done…. Move on to Jaleel and then Estime.
@ overrated? Who overrated him? And tell me when the Broncos o-line has been a consistently good run blocking line? Saquan Barkley is better than any back Denver has….but even he would struggle to get the same yards in Denver as he is getting in Philadelphia. Would Javonte get the same yards as Barkley in Philadelphia? No….but he would be a heckuva lot better in Philadelphia than he would in Denver. The run game depends heavily on the oline…their pass blocking is elite….the run….maybe average. I also think the run game is predictable for Payton. If Estime is in…80% of the time it’s a run…off tackle or in between. Javonte…between the tackle or a check down in the flat…but most times pass protection. McLaughlin….toss sweep or swing pass. If Nix is under center….90% chance it’s a run play. Not a lot to key on for a defense and for the most part….defenses can see what running back is in the backfield and use them as keys. They looked decent against the Chargers….but the Chargers had key players missing on defense. Same thing when they played the Saints.
@IveyJones-k6r broncos fans overrated him... not reading the rest of that. But hey some broncos fans still say drew lock and Josey jewell are good. Seems like there's not alot of football Iq going aroung
I'd like to see the full back, take on a lead back role. Can't remember his name, but he's been impactful pretty much every time he touched the ball. So why not at this point
Hanging the hopes on a Boise St back.....Boise. Maybe it's a combination of back, scheme, blocking Cec. Scheme is part of the problem when four backs struggle. In this draft you can find a back 3rd day. Thanks, appreciated.
The problem I have with Sean is that he always says "We need to run the ball more/better and thats on me" blah blah. But every game, he just doesn't. I loved JW when he first came to this team, but since his knee injury, he's just not been the same. They really need to just run Estime' down the Chargers mouth and let him run people over. If he fumbles, then he fumbles, but dude give him an honest chance.
Williams has always been overrated. And sean payton can't just snap his fingers and make the running backs better. If you knew sean payton as a coach then you would know he definitely likes to run the ball good
Bo is taking so many deep shots because of a non existent running game. Payton's trying to get that defense up off of Bo. This Broncos ground attack is pitiful. They need a spark from the practice squad or something. Heck, find someone off waivers at this point.
Agreed. It might even be time to see what Blake Watson has. We don't need Josh Jacobs level production. We just need consistency and to keep the defense honest.
We probably are not going to fix it. I think Peyton thinks he's got some secret weapon that he's waiting to roll out at the last minute so teams don't get tape on him. We have to wait and see, if it doesn't work then we are probably a one and done team
Payton will draft a running back he likes. Told people for a couple years now javonte shoulda been replaced. Just like i said for josey jewell. And Perine wasnt the answer

Aren’t they doing that already? It didn’t work against the colts.
Williams has always been overrated and this isn't really the full sean payton offense yet. He just can block

When we're hoping for Tyler Badie to save us, that's not good.

If any of Watson estime could pass pro they’d be the featured bsck!
These guys are crazy acting like perine would be a different maker here 😂😂😂
My bone headed play was me getting upset that a gunner did something dirty to get past me on a punt so I blocked him in the back and got flagged lol
Denver needs a back with quick feet. A player who is a scat back, able to read and go. Same qualities as Bo. Smart read and go.
Whats going on with Blake Watson?? It would be great to see what he can do.

*You're* vs *Your* use them properly people!
what about putting in some designed runs for Bo? I know that is a desperation move, but at this point nothing else has worked.
Nothing has worked as in being 9-5 And in the playoffs with a rookie? Or?
Pop Warner long snapper. I blew a game with 4 bad snaps
Cecil our center is not a starting center we lost our center cause of the Russel deal so lets be real
