Part of me suspects we might learn a bit more about this whenever 3.0 comes out, since it was hinted at during the end of the Penacony storyline by Black Swan that our next location would be a place even Akivili was never able to get to. This might mean we'll learn a bit more about how space travel, specifically how the Astral Express travels, works, especially when traveling to locations not connected by the Silver Rails
Im kinda hoping thats the case, with the reference to refueling and stuff I hope we get a bit more exposition on the astral express itself and maybe the trailblaze. Each planet has been about one faction or another so im hoping 3.0 might just be more about the trailblaze
I speculate space anchors function as quantum uncertainty translocators. Once you interact with one (and thus be observed on a cosmological scale to be/have been there) you can return to it at any subsequent time.
@@Maevix3142 it could also potentially explain why they heal you: the initial observation is that you are healthy and whole, so if you aren't it restores you too that state. 🙂
Teleport anchors only work person to person when you activate them and that's why we don't need to use the Astral express since we just teleport however we need to go and activate them (at least that's what I've gathered)
My own headcanon makes me think its also limited to a specific size or mass otherwise himeko and gang wouldnt have had to go to herta in her spacestation to deliver whatever artifact/curio she wanted at the start of the game
IMO they warp using spaceships by knowing the cooridinates of said location, its why the Xiansziou need Diviners to navigate around. They otherwise use certain trade routes. The warping isn't instantaneous since we know it can take hours to reach one place or the next according to Dr Ratio when asking about where Herta is at.
I might be wrongly remembering this but I seem to recall the diviners function in a similar way to navigators in due as they are responsible for finding the safest path by seeing the future and scouting the dangers that each route might lead to. Maybe that was just someones random thought I dont remember 😂
@@Maevix3142 No they said that the calculations are based of statistics and they do gather information not just "forsee" the future. They are said to have observed the Denizen of Abundance and reported on it in one of the books.

I remember someone in the game saying that the Astral Express uses the power of the trailblaze to reach speeds faster than light
Which makes me curious as to whether the aeon couldve have achieved that without the train. Also why a train 🤔

@Rodiacreed it's actually similar to Star Wars and Star Trek
Can I ask where you can talk to Dr. Ratio about Herta?

Star skiff episode
Really?
Yes please 🙏
Given the Silver Rail is powered by Imaginary energy, it's not impossible that it's literally the power of thought
More so the power of aeons? Aeons use imaginary energy to do whatever they want...as long as it concerns their path and goal
Its not Imaginary = Thoughts. It is Imaginary = i (Imaginary Numbers)
I kinda look at it like this, paths are just raw energy but aeons are funnels that use that energy to achieve different things
Use sea of quantum or star keys to go to other worlds aka solar systems
