The transformation of Farley's face as he realizes he's been duped into drinking decaf coffee -
That transformation is some of the best acting in his whole career. It's amazing. He goes from happy, to confused, to denial, to anger in just moments.
" you lied to me!"
@stirange agree
Not decaf
“You son of a bitch” you’d think the waiter told him he just fucked his wife while he went to take a shit lol
The crowd barely even laughed at this, but this is one of the most epic SNL skits ever to happen. that crowd had no idea they were watching a living legend make history. RIP Farley
Some people just don't think it's funny. I showed it to my mom and she thought it wasn't the tiniest bit funny. Watching immigrant children be thrown into a woodchipper is closer to her ideal comedy material.
@@Neitenth Remind me to decline your mom's RSVP letter for her next Christmas party.
@@Neitenth she'd love a good Trump rally or a day on 4chan.
It was shown on a video in the studio, so it's not as hilarious to the audience as something performed live.
@Dr. Loomis being alive
The best part of this whole video is his initial facial reactions. Amazing acting.
Farley got typecast as the “fatty falls down” guy and he really was excellent at that kind of physical comedy, but he had a lot of range that I don’t think people fully appreciated until after he was gone
Seriously!! Every time I watch his face drop that initial time it just kills me!!
Yes! It reminds me of the drawn out mobster death of Jimmy Cagney’s big roles, hilarious. And so broad and athletic!
When I say literally I mean I literally almost died
Did you just discover Chris Farley or something? That's like telling everyone the sun is bright. Thanks?...
his face at the 0:44 mark as he says "what?" fuckin' DEAD. absolutely brilliant.
That's the party that gets me Too 😊😊😂😂😂😂
its so strange because I could have sworn he did a little laugh before the "what?" and now it feels like some Mandela effect stuff. Memories are so faulty, that's why eye witness accounts do not hold as much weight in court as people think.
@@seth131There is a slight laugh.
Dude went through the five stages of grief in five seconds
Hahahaha!!! You’re right! Fuck that’s funny
Fr tho 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Doesn't seem like he made it to the "acceptance" stage...
@@colinferguson7400 yeah he did lmao at the end when he said he felt mad
Ur right
This is a sketch that only Farley could have pulled off.
@Adam Strickler that is a damn good point.
@Adam Strickler no it's cool, you were spot on. Now I'm picturing Sam doing it lol.
Will Farrell would have been a close second (he can channel rage well), but you are right. Farley was perfect for this.
I could see this as a Jim Breuer sketch
JOHN. BELUSHI.
The acting by Farley going from pleasant to ape-shit gets me every time. His range was limitless! 😂😂😂😂
That's literally the first time I thought I was going to die
so good
Yea, that's why he was so popular. Thanks for cathing up...
I think this skit has actually gotten BETTER with time. Chris Farley was a comedian ahead of his time. "AS GOD AS MY WITNESS!!"
The maniacal laughter and "I'LL KILL SOMEBODY!!!", lol
Seriously, it’s just as funny now as I remembered 30 years ago
Mine is
WHY.
YOU.
Sonofa BITCH.
I repeat this skit to my wife every once in awhile. She'll ask me a question and I tuck my chin down and make a fat face, I starting trembling my face and say, "why... you Son of a bitch!" She thinks it's hilarious.
I havent looked into it but you do understand theres a good chance he didnt write the sketch right?
This is unquestionably the most underrated sketch of all time.
Disagree. Everyone I know rates it as a classic. And why do I have to see someone use either “underrated” or “literally” on 90% of UA-cam videos and usually use them incorrectly? Is there a regulation I’m unaware of.

The amount of times I've seen this without realizing the chef IMMEDIATELY started cracking him over the head with 3 different wine bottles is astonishing
The look on his face as if he was just told he's been eating human flesh, the dramatic horror music, his unwarranted and hilariously over-the-top anger, him punching the waiter in the stomach, the chef peaking out from the kitchen and then hitting him over the head with bottles, the pies thrown at the couple, the restaurant descending into chaos all the while an Asian couple can be seen quietly eating their food, his wife hysterically pleading for him to stop, his maniacal promises of revenge, that he has to be restrained and repeatedly hit with a frying pan. This entire skit is perfection, and whoever came up with it is a genius.
Could you please tell us everything that happened in this skit again? It’s really nice of you to do such a thing.
@@anthemgunaether2914 😂
@@anthemgunaether2914 I didn’t even realize the couple in the background was oblivious to everything going on until someone pointed it out on here.

😂😂😂
Every line it is gold. “Why you son of a bitch!” “With god as my witness, I’ll kill you!” Hahaha the best. Just shouldn’t have given him the crystals!
It was "Shut your yapper" as "yap" is a verb. He pauses a second before saying the "per" part.
@@richardmahn7589 yes, I was going to say the same. "Shut your yapper" is a classic Farley line.
That fact that he hits the woman not once but twice with the pies still gets me to this day!
Was hoping he hit her with all 3 pies lmao
And also backhands his own wife. Lmao
@@AbbaZaba00 I know 😂
@@AbbaZaba00 and yells at her to shut her yapper 😂
I was just thinking of that. Two in the face for the wife, and then one for Abe Lincoln. 🤣🤣🤣
One of Farley's funniest for sure. The quick shot of the chef peaking around the corner and the pies in the face slay me every time.
Ohhh man....exactly...absolutely fucking hilarious..😂😂
He was so fricken funny
You noticed the chef too! I love that and when he goes to smack his woman and says shit your yapper!!! Ha ha!
The Japanese game show was great too
I'm pretty sure that's the same chef who hits him with the pan at the end lol
It's what should of showed the basic bitches that are too thick that it was humor.
He was a better actor than people give him credit for. His expression change at the beginning when they told him was brilliant
He really was. Farley was obviously known for screwball physical comedy, but there was actually a lot of subtlety to his performances that went overlooked.
The expression change journey was perfect.
That moment, I laughed as hard as ever
@Chill_and Deal, that’s my favorite part of the skit.
You know he was on Cocaine during most of his roles right?
When they finally subdue him it looks like a Renaissance painting
which one?
LMAOOOO this is such an underrated comment
😂😂😂
Of the millions of comments I've read on UA-cam this might be the best one, and it has 139 likes. Know that this deserves better
I was going to say something JUST like that! Hahaha! I was going to post it looks like the ending of an intense Greek tragedy play
His face transformation is priceless. He goes from happy, confused, in denial, and then infuriated in less then 10 seconds.
His choice to start throwing pies, in the midst of a murderous rage, is epic. I also love how the old couple just sits there, in shock, for three consecutive pie attacks. :)
If you look closely, the guy with the beard who gets hit with the third pie is played by Phil Hartman.
It would have been funnier if the old woman got hit by all three.
@@macmacreynolds8712 That wasn't Phil Hartman, dummy.
Right. You set the bar pretty high when you gut-punch the waiter, break plates, and make idle oaths to God of your revenge plan, to just do a vaudeville pie throw.
@@timopper5488 I agree, when he started throwing pies I started to laugh in a whole other degree.
The wife crying at the end always cracks me up!
neoasura Yeah, it's that extra sound that makes it classic.

Mine is when he says "shut your yapper" hilarious
That part always annoyed me. The over the top sound at the very end. I was always assumed she was breaking character and it ruined it for me.
The chef sticking his head out to see wassup get me every time lol
Only Chris Farley could pull off this bit. He was just amazing. The way he says “What?” was just genius.
Bwwaaahttt?
Hahahahahaha.
It was the line that got me 25 years ago and its the line that gets me now.
It’s like, the prank show host didn’t know what unholy Pandora’s box he opened by replacing that coffee. You’d have thought he replaced it with bleach, broken glass, and the blood of the customer’s virgin daughter.
It's my favorite part because it's like in a western when the bad guy enters the saloon and the piany music stops.
The inflection was perfect. Conveying his sense of trying to confirm that he hadn’t been duped!
There will NEVER be another Chris Farley, I miss him so much.
Literally one of the greatest SNL skits of all time.
Agreed
And it's so simple on paper. The brilliance is in the performance.
The chef popping his head out at 1:11 kills me every time!
my fav part
I was just about to post this same comment
my fav is the couple in the background relaxing and talking like nothings going on
He looks like Salvador Dali
The little noise the coffee cup makes as he places it back onto the saucer is what really helps build the moment.
Absolutely. The cup noise and the music coming in compliment the scene big time.
Hell Yeah🤌🏼😆😆
I agree 100% 😄
My God yes, it's perfection
Yes!!
Chris Farley was the GOAT! The writing cast at SNL was the best between 91-96
My favorite thing Chris Farley used to say was "SHUT YOUR YAPPER!!!" 🤣🤣🤣 1:20
SHUT YOUR YAPPER!! with the backhand, hilarious.
Farley will always own that line in my memory until I've gone senile.
pre-Matt Foley!
She should've stayed out of the way while he handled his business.
Good advise for all you ladies
Wow, so glad to see all of the support for a man back handing his wife. "Good advise for the ladies"??? I can see what sort of people are supporting this.
Everyone always says “Matt foley” or “chippendales” is the best Farley sketch. But this is by far the golden one, I’d never laughed so hard in my life when I saw this for the first time years ago. It’s fucking genius.
Yeah Its rare to find comedy that makes you laugh as hard as this back in the day. I I didnt remember the second half when I watched it again because all of us were so out of it laughing and trying to breath

AS GOD AS MY WITNESS
Damn I love the eerie 70s sound they play in the backround as his expression turns to anger
The music is a huge bonus. It's like watching Godzilla.
If I recall, this was one of the last skits of the night, where they usually relegate their not-so-funny skits. It ended up becoming legendary. My buddy and I still recite this bit.
You’re right. It was the last one of the night. And it was pre-recorded so there was few laughs.
Shut yer yapper!
How did nobody laugh?! This is top 5 snl skit ever! 🤣🤣
Still one of the funniest goddamn things Ive ever seen in my life.
LMAO i love itttttt
The random split second of the chef rounding the corner at 1:11 gets me every time.
That shot is so masterfully edited. It wouldn't be as funny if it were any longer.
@@thetrin It was definitely to hide a cut lol
The music, sound effects, editing, the other actors… Chris obviously is the centerpiece that makes it work, but everyone else involved helped make this into a classic. It all comes together perfectly.
SAME 😂
I love how he just loses his mind when he is told that it’s not real coffee. 😂😂 like he was just told you murdered his dog or something. 😂😂
Her desperate cries of devastation and horror after he's knocked out... She deserves an Emmy.
Farley obviously carried the sketch, but a lot of the other actors and direction/effects people made things come across terrific here. The sound of the coffee cup clanging on the plate, the horror music as he starts his rampage, the distraught wife, the slap, the chef looking around the corner, the quick cuts to the elderly couple being hit with the pies, and so forth. It goes on and on!
The funniest part imo 😂😂😂
The chef poking his head out like a scooby doo episode is the exact moment it all becomes to unfurl into total Farleyness and it marks the exact point my laughter becomes uncontrollable as I have watched this over 400 times in my life alone. If I need a laugh I come to this video. It never fails.@@trevgreg2
Instead... SHE'S LIVING IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER!!!
Yes, the wife plays the heck out of her part! Astounding supporting cast, camera movement and music.
*YOU LIED TO ME!!! YOU LIED TO ME!!!* The only Chris Farley skit that can compete with this one is The Japanese Gameshow!
Agreed to the expletive fullest
Pepper Boy!!! "Why thank you Pepper Boy"
Have you not seen Farley's Chippendale's sketch with Patrick Swayze? That may be the best SNL moment ever.
This one is my favorite along with the "How Much Ya Bench?" Skit w/ Emilio Estevez
"Brad Pitt needs a beating and he needs a beating bad I swear to God i'm not in the mood for him ever"
Cant go wrong with the matt foleys too😂
I still think my favorite part is the confused "what?!?" at 0:44. It's just so genuine
Totally agree. So much to chose from but that “whaat?” with a chuckle is gold!
I love the brief angry “Hulk” pose he does right before the throws the pies.
And he is perfectly wearing green too. 😂
The music in the background during Farley’s rage is what does it for me. 😂
He was a legend…RIP Chris.
The calm asian couple continuing to eat as if nothing is happening.
Farley is incredible in this, but so many other little bits about it make it a classic. The couple in the back not reacting, the chef popping his head out then clattering him with the bottle and pans while reacting in horror, the one guy's facial expression after his wife gets hit with the pie, Chris doing his arm flex before grabbing the pie.
A perfect comedy segment.
I love the fact hes wearing a green jacket and the music is perfect!
I have not seen this in about a decade and it still makes my cry laughing!! Never gets old...
How they managed to stuff that "pie to the face" bit in there mixed with Chris Farley freaking out, along with the many swedish stereotypes is comical genius 🤣🤣🤣🤣
id love to hear/read about the swedish stereotypes to understand your comment
That look on farlys face is perfect. It’s the look of “everything I know is a lie”.
Best skit ever.
Yk this skit is the definition of just put some random shit out there and let me make it funny. He’s the best
This sketch deserve so much more laughter, it was so good for how chaotically funny Chris Farley can be, I miss him so much he really took SNL to even funnier heights this was the golden era of SNL for me ❤
👍👍👍👍
The Evil laugh as he's having multiple bottles broken over his head and he's screaming "I'll get you!!" To the guy right in front of him is fucking amazing 🤣🤣🤣
SNL back then was so damn insane. I wish they could find a way to harness that again.
They bad great writers before
There trying to use their comedy as a tool to justify their hatred of Trump. But when your comedy has too much of an agenda to it, it ends up just not being funny.
They focus so hard on being pro liberal that they forget to write real jokes/sketches
Alot of comics used to use SNL as a platform to jumpstart their careers. Now a days they can just make their own UA-cam videos instead. The talent pool is alot smaller these days because network television is dying.
All they do now is make it about race and gender. They think that’s clever rather than covering the full human experience.
I laughed my ass off as a kid at this and 20 years later i still laugh my ass off.
The music goes from mellow island music to a horror soundtrack. Great background ambience. One of the funniest skits ever!
I watched this the night it aired and I laughed for a week over this. I sure do miss Chris Farley

I saw this late at night when it first aired. My friends thought I was going to suffocate because I was laughing so hard and couldn’t stop for 15 minutes. 😂 Epic!
The first time I saw this was when they aired the tribute episode. It remains the hardest I’ve ever laughed in my entire life. Took me at least five minutes to calm down, myself!
I always get the best laugh from the woman sobbing and groping his jacket at the end. Everything else gets quiet and you hear her pleading and crying….the way she does it hilarious
This may be the funniest SNL sketch ever! 😆 Somehow the lack of laughter from the audience makes it even funnier.
