This is absolutely one of the high points of humor on SNL EVER! And it showcased the very special talents of Farley- think of it as a bookend to the equally hilarious Chippendales audition , which brought out the best talents of both Farley and Swayze, both gone waaaay too soon!!

@@williamcervetti1455 That's for sure, Farley was "awesome" too, haha! We often see people post stuff about how SNL hasn't been funny since the first couple of years. Yes that cast was amazing! They changed what live comedy could do in a tv audience! But come on, you can't say that Chris Farley, Adam Sandler, Phil Hartman and the rest of the crew from that era weren't hilarious too. Some of the shows from that period were absolutely fantastic!

I think the rehearsal clips used to be on UA-cam but it made no difference to Paul, he has been a pro for 60 years, in interviews and so on.
He deserves some level of respect for attaining that insane level of popularity and not losing his mind, compared to *everyone* who got even close.
I met John Lennon when l was a 10 year old boy and he was probably nice to me because of that, but Paul is nice to everyone. And think about that for a moment. How would you react if, no matter where you were on earth, you were recognized and fawned over?
Paul is the biggest of them all, and didn't let that destroy him, which is so fucking cool. Anyone remember about 10 years ago when he and his wife drove alone cross-country, and some goofs had their picture taken with him at a gas station, pumping his own gas??
Oh yeah...on that same trip he and Nancy got lost and he walked into a rural library for a map. I will never forget that lady. She said "l was at my desk and Paul McCartney walked up and asked me for a map. It was like seeing Bigfoot".
Paul clearly enjoys being "PAUL", but is so oddly grounded. It has killed everyone else who has reached that level of recognition.

Good family upbringing is my thought. Think Paul would agree. I remember an interview where he talked about returning home after The Beatles' first world tour and was feeling overly proud of himself, expecting family members to treat him differently, with admiration and undeserving respect. Upon his arrival, many close family members had gathered for a cookout and the obvious welcome home celebrations. He said he loved getting the "real hugs" he received from the people he had grown up with. As he made his way to the backyard a very close cousin he had loved like the sister he never had, stopped him in the kitchen with a quick peck on the cheek, the "welcome home," handed him her 1 year old asking him to change her diaper. "Be a dear and change her, would ya'? She's ripe!" He said right THEN, he knew he was home.

I recently read Dave Grohl's experience on when he first met Pau McCartney, and he says that it was a complete blur for him. He couldn't remember how they were introduced, what they talked about, or how long they talked, but could only remember putting on his best "this is not the most incredible thing ever to happen to me" face while trying to keep from making a fool of himself. I'd like to think he turned into Chris Farley that night with, "Re...remem..member when you were with the Beatles? That was awesome."

Wow! That reminded me of me when I struggled with anxiety when speaking to a crowd of people in the workplace. I finally was able to resolve that issue after I gain more experience and confidence. Later in my career, I often assisted people who struggled with this type of anxiety since I remembered how it made me feel and I hated to see anyone struggling and feeling embarrassed, and later, fearing speaking in public. The only way I can describe it was like having labored breathing with brain thoughts misfiring in an uncontrolled manner. Farley played that role to a tee.

I don't know how many times I've seen this, I can recite it line by line, and I still crack up everytime. I have no idea how Paul McCartney was able to play it straight the whole time. "Do you remember when you were in the Beatles"? Maybe the best comedic line ever....

One of the many things that I love about The Beatles is that all four of them have participated in many comedy sketches over the years. They all did not take themselves too seriously much of the time.
