The not leveling up makes sense. You tend to lock a bunch of "might turn out okay" artifacts when you first start farming the domain, and then you just never return to them if you do finally get a good one. And it does take resources, even if you can feed level 4 artifacts into a level 0 one to make it level 4. Eats up some mora. Also, when looking to level up or drop the artifact into the strongbox, the locked pop up window obstructs the stats. That really hinders the cleaning up process.
The main issue is less not leveling and more that my brother hasnt learned how to decide what artifacts to keep or not (edit: and when to decide to stop leveling them). Teaching that is a hard thing to convey, so my goal was kinda to show some of my process for artifact selection to maybe help my brother or anyone else with deciding how to filter down your artifacts. But yeah, the resource issue with artifacts is annoying af, and preventing your inventory from getting to my brothers point takes constant leveling.
The other thing I do is keep artifacts that might be an OK placeholder for a new character that needs the artifact set, or might work out for a new character that can use the set but scales on something weird.
i have a long list of "maybe" artifacts, or good artifacts with undesirable main stats that might be useful in the future. sure helped when fontaine came out.

I gotta try to make more of them. A lot of people have requested I fix their accounts, but its just kinda hard to evaluate how to “fix” an account without knowing that person and how they may enjoy playing the game, right? That was why I ended up not deciding to do much past getting Kazuha functional for the other video I made for my friends account (it just wasn’t necessary for how she plays the game). I could just recommend meta things, but I feel that gets kinda repetitive and boring, so I want a better way to “fix” accounts in a more personalized manner.
@@Solunerra Yeah that's a great way to do it. I like playing characters that I enjoy and that work together and I tend to stay away from the meta. I dislike Bennett since he is in a lot of meta teams.

@@Solunerrameta it's also just a convention, some teams just edge out a tad from what characters you can have, just try and elaborate what the best course of action is... And deciding to build characters for the needs that could present, like... If I were to build 2 team for abyss that could be suitable for most the situations I would build: first of all xingqiu, as, besides having some great qualities like dmg and d reduction, he has the best hydro application of the bunch, that could be especially helpful in situations like the elemental shields we have in the abyss, then I would build xiangling, same reason as before (besides dmg, elemental application ex: cryo, electro and dendro shields), then Bennett... Traveler, suitable in many situations based on what you need, like, if you have rift wolf boss, you can just insert geo traveler to deal with it... Use dendro for hydro shields and for single target situations (hyperbloom) or even multitarget (burgeon), then yao yao, to have the same archetype whenever geo traveler is needed + healing, kuki, dori or lisa, if no other options are present, another hydro applier, barbara if nothing better, with NC combos, and sucrose with fischl as additional characters... You now have the base team for national sucrose and hyperbloom, if you need more hydro application in the first half you can sub sucrose for barbara and play aggravate down... This is just to show you can build effective team with minimum requirements with dmg output not far worse than more expensive teams, you can then obviously adjust the teams based on what they have available.
I would like to convey solidarity with Adam. For I too leave too many artifacts in my inventory, unleveled, locked, and just sitting there. My hoarding tendencies from regular RPG games is strong. (And I too made my better-playing-at-Genshin friend cry when she saw that the first time around and winnowed everything down. She also knows the pile is...growing again.)
A hybrid raiden build is very possible considering that the new battlepass polearm gives more em at R5 than dragons bane and you just need 3 elements in a team
@@SolunerraHybrid Raiden needs the Cyno EM to ATK% weapon to be really good. So you go EM, ER, Crit and get automatically ATK and Electro DMG (from ER) with it.
I love listening to your voice it’s relaxing. I don’t like using Xiangling because Gouba is annoying. He never targets what I want it to target attacks slowly and has limited range.
The trick with guoba is that he's really only there to generate energy and to apply pyro to swirl with your anemo unit during your rotation setup. He pulses slowly so that if you mess up your setup you have time to correct without stealing too many reactions away from her burst or other units' reactions.
Some artifacts will surprise you. Had a hydro bonus emblem goblet in my bag for a year. It had atk% hp% crit dmg and em. It seemed worthless so i let it rot. But when i said screw it and leveled it. Now its 22% hp and 28% crit damage thus yelan became a happy lady.
That video reminded me of when my sibling asked me to help with their account. Your brother's account doesn't look that bad. My sibling had some top-tier characters, but the only build characters were hp Goblet xiao with Gladiator and a 4* artifacts kaeya..... at ar 58 The pain i had to go through trying to build it all.....

Hey man great video, i would love to see another part of this series where you do actually level up the good artifacts he had or the ones you got him through strong box. I am very much in a similar situation to him so i am betting (i hope i am wrong) that most of these pieces will magically roll into the one bad stat or too much not into crit to the point where you end up having too much atk% or too much em. At least that has been my experience for 3 years now as a "hardcore full f2p log in everyday player" ❤
Yeah I may be able to return to his account in a little while to see how he has gotten through stuff. I actually told him that it may be a good idea to farm a more inefficient artifact domain (like Navias artifacts) so that he can relatively safely fodder pieces that arent quite good, and therefore build up more fodder to get through the stuff in his inventory. Wish I had the thought to mention that in the video itself but hindsight and all that

Oh I just wanted to add that I think mona should on his "to build" list... She is underappreciated but its too long to explain, but looking at your knowledge, you probably know most of what I wanted to say... He wants to play noelle, he might be looking at building gorou, he might be the friendliest of the new gen buffer that we had, not conveying so much of its potential in the c6 as we've seen with other characters, he can build him with fav and 4 exile with the circlet as the off piece with as much er stacked into it. Diona it's also a great option to add, just have her to wear instructor and it's all set. I had and excellent experience with keqing, if he's experiencing trouble in clearing the abyss, building her could be a solution, she is very easy to play, and seeing his fischl gear... Thoma it's great for burgeon, probably not as high up in the list of the characters to build but one you can consider later on... Same thing for lisa, having her at A4 unlocked could be good in some scenarios, layla can be another one and candace if he ever decides to play with nilou...
More than building dendro traveler... I suggest him to build geo traveler, he offers some great dmg, it's synergistic with zhongli in some situations, and it's a great battery for geo characters... Just like noelle... Edit, also gives a little crit rate that it's a bit slept on on how valuable it can be.

My problem with Sucrose is that I hate her. From a pure gameplay perspective, I should absolutely level her, but I'm just going to live with my Kazuha, who is my favorite character, and just hope I can hyperbloom my way through the other half of an abyss.

I take a lot of care to look at my 5 star pieces and would only level up ones with poor substats if I didn't have a better on set piece. Everything else gets thrown into the strongbox for domains I don't want to do.

Story about my genshin account because I'm bored This video reminded me of the very first few characters I got lol I started playing genshin when it came out, but I was just exploring, so I forgot to pull for characters most of the time but when I decided to pull for some characters I got in order: Fischl, Bennett, Yun Jin, and Sucrose. Back then, I HEAVILY underestimated them because they were 4 stars, so I thought they had to be bad. I didn't get characters often because of my luck, but when I did, they were REALLY good (ignore that I got Dori after that :^)
18:04 regarding artifact I usually maintain the one's with at least 3 good substats for any character that uses that set, the ones with 4 substats with the same requirements as before but it's a mainstat thet it's not used on any of the characters of that set. Or 4 liners with the necessity of 1 or 2 stats, like em for kuki... But even then, I'm in a situation similar to your brother, I play since release... And even this method isn't rigorous enough nowadays to let me have more space in the artifact department

Returning to the previous argument, using the method of selection I explained before, I managed to get ironically enough the best build for a character I wasn't planning on doing so... That being shenhe... Her stat distribution is insane, most pieces are 4 liners and near 0 wasted stats... Her total is: 3600 atk, 110 em (I use her in melt teams), 44 crit rate, 95 crit dmg, 190 er%, 4 emblem... Spine as the weapon
I really like your argument regarding circlets, how people only focus on having crit on them to be good, like, I use on my raiden a circlet with no crit in it, a total of 22% atk, 18% er... Even if I had a piece with 15 crit rate but no other good stats it would result in a dmg loss, even in a full team scenario with Bennett, where atk% diminishes in value.

My friend doesn't use the resin on his account, doesn't learn the game, only does archon quests. His characters get super weak and he asks me to log in once in a while to "fix it". i wish he'd learn the game. ah, the infinite list of locked artifacts? i have that too. you mean you don't have "maybe" artifacts that you resort to when you have spare resources and/or want to build a new character? do you really upgrade any and all artifact you get, even if the starting stats are only a "maybe"? Btw i have never used a single 5 star artifact to upgrade artifacts ever since the strongbox came out. it's an absolute waste to do that when you can strongbox them.
I may do a community post at some point for people to submit their account to fix, but I will be busy for at least the next bit with some videos I got planned this patch, but feel free to keep an eye out for it!

There are a lot of reasons not to use Fischl, like because she's annoying as fuck. So I refuse to use her out of principle. Don't need her anyway when you have Dori or Beidou.
You dont have to use anyone in particular lol. I personally dont really factor character personalities into why Id not use them. But just as I avoid XL you can avoid Fischl. It’s just that the more of the relevant and accessible units you ignore the more difficulties you may have in clearing different situations abyss cycles throw at you. As an example Fischl applies enough electro to get through the Pyro Lector shields quite well, so if you dont have options for hydro teammates to get through them, she could be one of the best options. But basically never is one character ever specifically needed, so you should be able to freely skip using units.
8:48 it’s crazy to me how some people still don’t have c4 Xiangling. She is in the shop and Hoyoverse runs her all of the time. Whether or not John Mihoyo wants to admit it, Xiangling is their favorite 4-star and there is no excuse for an AR58 to NOT have a C4 Xiangling. Unless you get THAT unlucky in your pulls and end up with a c8 qiqi like me 😜
working on my daughters account, She started in Dec 2020, I started in May 2021. She as a well built Ayaka, Ganyu, Hu tao, Kokami, guess who she doesnt have built, XL,XQ Bennet, Kazuha ,KUKI...noelle sitting there at 40. I dont even have Ayaka, Ganyu and Kokoami. Im having a heck of time getting things done with these lol.

I lost the 50/50 got Verdict, then I rolled with the rest of my money meant for mist splitter lost the 50/50 got jean, grinded and got Navia at the last minute c2 Sucrose, c7 Candace (LOL) c3 Rosaria, c1 Gorou, c1 Xingqiu, Skyward Harp, Rust, Dragon's Bane, Akoumaru, Etc. So It weant from cope to hope $200 not wasted.

I’d also love you to review my account. I’m a pseudo-whale. (I see value in buying the double top up packs every year, and I do battle pass and Welkin. Account is about 2.5 years old. The fun thing here is I have 42 characters ready to go. When I say that I don’t mean built. I mean I have 42 characters that all have their individual artifacts and their own individual weapons; mainly five stars. So basically you can open up abyss and pick 1 out of any of my 42 characters I have built and just use it. No needing to ever look at artifacts. I have no need for load outs xD.
Hmm good idea, maybe can do that, tbh my impression of the feature is that it is relatively pointless, because I think to get use out of it you need to know what you are looking for to know what to tell it to auto lock, and if you know that already then its just as easy to lock artifacts individually. BUT I should definitely try to see if there is a way to utilize it in a way that could simplify people’s ability to get through their artifacts, so I will look into it. Ty for the suggestion
I disagree with the idea of rolling flowers or plumes that only have 1 crit sta, statistically speaking its very unlikely that they give you enough average crit value to be worth enough leveling and unlike sands goblet or circlet their main stat is fixed.
I started playing at release and just got to 1700 locked artifacts, similar quality to this. Just thinking about doing the micromanaging gives me a panic attack so I keep putting it off.
I kind of regret leveling sucrose and xiangling. Only really did it because everyone says they are great. Then i proceeded to almost never use them. When i got kazuha basically every anemo unit on my account died. until furina then jean came out of her coffin.
I mean yeah, Ive had that issue with some units too. Which is to say that I built units because people said they were good rather than because I had any need for them. As Ive learned more about the game I naturally learned how valuable certain characters can be for various situations based on footage Ive seen. Sucrose is someone I built after getting Kazuha, and mostly gets used as an E bit, but thats more than enough for her to be situationally better. My personal recommendation would be to build teammates relevant to a team/character that you want to play with.
I lvled cook girl way be4 she was c4, in sucrose national she still shreded with subpar artifacts when bursts are on, but then i had to spend some time bringing everyones ult up (except sucrose, she had it up every other rotation) Havent really used the team since way be4 i c4ed her (bit of trouble hitting airborn enemies and no dedicated mining character) but i started doing emblem domain for them to bring artifacts up a bit (including yelans)
Looks better than my first acc which i dont use now but i messed that acc so much learning the game itd take months to fix lol... rather just stick to my new accs.... maybe one day tho😂
It's just overwhelming for new Players (Im AR57) how many char/Artifact combo exist. So we overlocked them. I have nearly 600-700 lvl 0 5 Star Artifacts. Don't make daly Artifact route ether. Second problem for me, to many Sites exist with too many different opinions.(how to build a Character)

I'm in this video and I don't like it... 😅 I don't think I have as many artifacts, but last time I scanned them I had ~700, and probably over half are at +0 or +4 lol But I think it's understandable tbh, it takes a lot of fodder to level them, and if you like having variety in characters, you really need to pick and choose your battles... I have Yelan, Xl and Xq with a decent emblem set already. Is there room for improvement? Definetly, I have Xl with a 4-line emblem pyro goblet with CR, CD and ER... and 63 flat def 🥲 but she's overall decent. Currently I need to improve my Fischl and Furina, so all resources are going there right now, and I feel like that happens all the time lol

I dont have enough fodder to level up to 20 because i hate farming😂 it just feels like a waste to do a domain and get nothing. Plus i have characters i need to level up. At least leveling is guaranteed progression.
Same, I generally find XL unnecessary to use, but someone like my brother could utilize XL more often than not to help him clear abyss more consistently
I feel like Fischl gets under utilized bc in early levels she doesn’t seem to output much damage at all or apply enough electro to seemingly make a difference. She has to be invested in to get returns. I started a new account so being AR 20 with a C0 Fischl, her damage is negligible and it’s easy to see why some people might shelve her for other electro supports

I just know that right now with her at level 40 and a sac bow at level 40 with Sucrose, Barbara, and Rosaria shes not doing enough electro charged damage to clear through floor 4 of Spiral Abyss with all 9 stars which is centered around that reaction. Tried to put in Lisa for resonance and to help with energy but Lisa’s… bad. I’m just resolved to get to AR 25 so I can level Fischl up enough to just output better damage and to get more four star artifacts hopefully
@@Solunerra I’ll also admit that it’s probably a personality thing. Fischl wasn’t a character I was all that into on my first play through so she gathered dust. I also didn’t quite get her playstyle with needing to spend field time on her resummoning Oz just so it stayed within range of enemies as the battle moves. Still working on her to better understand her value.

the 2pc2pc for EM? depends on what team(s) you're running. if you're doing anything with Dendro reactions, having someone on the team with 4pc Deepwood is almost necessary.

You now have the base team for national sucrose and hyperbloom, if you need more hydro application in the first half you can sub sucrose for barbara and play aggravate down... This is just to show you can build effective team with minimum requirements with dmg output not far worse than more expensive teams, you can then obviously adjust the teams based on what they have available.

A hybrid raiden build is very possible considering that the new battlepass polearm gives more em at R5 than dragons bane and you just need 3 elements in a team

I love listening to your voice it’s relaxing. I don’t like using Xiangling because Gouba is annoying. He never targets what I want it to target attacks slowly and has limited range.
The trick with guoba is that he's really only there to generate energy and to apply pyro to swirl with your anemo unit during your rotation setup. He pulses slowly so that if you mess up your setup you have time to correct without stealing too many reactions away from her burst or other units' reactions.
I use him for some extra burgeon on my bloom team when I’m feeling it
Some artifacts will surprise you. Had a hydro bonus emblem goblet in my bag for a year. It had atk% hp% crit dmg and em. It seemed worthless so i let it rot. But when i said screw it and leveled it. Now its 22% hp and 28% crit damage thus yelan became a happy lady.

Hey man great video, i would love to see another part of this series where you do actually level up the good artifacts he had or the ones you got him through strong box.
I am very much in a similar situation to him so i am betting (i hope i am wrong) that most of these pieces will magically roll into the one bad stat or too much not into crit to the point where you end up having too much atk% or too much em. At least that has been my experience for 3 years now as a "hardcore full f2p log in everyday player" ❤
Yeah I may be able to return to his account in a little while to see how he has gotten through stuff. I actually told him that it may be a good idea to farm a more inefficient artifact domain (like Navias artifacts) so that he can relatively safely fodder pieces that arent quite good, and therefore build up more fodder to get through the stuff in his inventory. Wish I had the thought to mention that in the video itself but hindsight and all that

He wants to play noelle, he might be looking at building gorou, he might be the friendliest of the new gen buffer that we had, not conveying so much of its potential in the c6 as we've seen with other characters, he can build him with fav and 4 exile with the circlet as the off piece with as much er stacked into it.
Diona it's also a great option to add, just have her to wear instructor and it's all set.
I had and excellent experience with keqing, if he's experiencing trouble in clearing the abyss, building her could be a solution, she is very easy to play, and seeing his fischl gear...
Thoma it's great for burgeon, probably not as high up in the list of the characters to build but one you can consider later on... Same thing for lisa, having her at A4 unlocked could be good in some scenarios, layla can be another one and candace if he ever decides to play with nilou...
More than building dendro traveler... I suggest him to build geo traveler, he offers some great dmg, it's synergistic with zhongli in some situations, and it's a great battery for geo characters... Just like noelle...
Edit, also gives a little crit rate that it's a bit slept on on how valuable it can be.

My problem with Sucrose is that I hate her. From a pure gameplay perspective, I should absolutely level her, but I'm just going to live with my Kazuha, who is my favorite character, and just hope I can hyperbloom my way through the other half of an abyss.

I take a lot of care to look at my 5 star pieces and would only level up ones with poor substats if I didn't have a better on set piece. Everything else gets thrown into the strongbox for domains I don't want to do.

I started playing genshin when it came out, but I was just exploring, so I forgot to pull for characters most of the time but when I decided to pull for some characters I got in order: Fischl, Bennett, Yun Jin, and Sucrose.
Back then, I HEAVILY underestimated them because they were 4 stars, so I thought they had to be bad. I didn't get characters often because of my luck, but when I did, they were REALLY good (ignore that I got Dori after that :^)

Her total is: 3600 atk, 110 em (I use her in melt teams), 44 crit rate, 95 crit dmg, 190 er%, 4 emblem... Spine as the weapon
I really like your argument regarding circlets, how people only focus on having crit on them to be good, like, I use on my raiden a circlet with no crit in it, a total of 22% atk, 18% er... Even if I had a piece with 15 crit rate but no other good stats it would result in a dmg loss, even in a full team scenario with Bennett, where atk% diminishes in value.

There are a lot of reasons not to use Fischl, like because she's annoying as fuck. So I refuse to use her out of principle.

You dont have to use anyone in particular lol. I personally dont really factor character personalities into why Id not use them. But just as I avoid XL you can avoid Fischl. It’s just that the more of the relevant and accessible units you ignore the more difficulties you may have in clearing different situations abyss cycles throw at you. As an example Fischl applies enough electro to get through the Pyro Lector shields quite well, so if you dont have options for hydro teammates to get through them, she could be one of the best options. But basically never is one character ever specifically needed, so you should be able to freely skip using units.

I’d also love you to review my account. I’m a pseudo-whale. (I see value in buying the double top up packs every year, and I do battle pass and Welkin. Account is about 2.5 years old. The fun thing here is I have 42 characters ready to go. When I say that I don’t mean built. I mean I have 42 characters that all have their individual artifacts and their own individual weapons; mainly five stars. So basically you can open up abyss and pick 1 out of any of my 42 characters I have built and just use it. No needing to ever look at artifacts. I have no need for load outs xD.

Hmm good idea, maybe can do that, tbh my impression of the feature is that it is relatively pointless, because I think to get use out of it you need to know what you are looking for to know what to tell it to auto lock, and if you know that already then its just as easy to lock artifacts individually. BUT I should definitely try to see if there is a way to utilize it in a way that could simplify people’s ability to get through their artifacts, so I will look into it. Ty for the suggestion

I disagree with the idea of rolling flowers or plumes that only have 1 crit sta, statistically speaking its very unlikely that they give you enough average crit value to be worth enough leveling and unlike sands goblet or circlet their main stat is fixed.
lvl 20 xiangling jumpscare
I started playing at release and just got to 1700 locked artifacts, similar quality to this. Just thinking about doing the micromanaging gives me a panic attack so I keep putting it off.
I kind of regret leveling sucrose and xiangling. Only really did it because everyone says they are great. Then i proceeded to almost never use them. When i got kazuha basically every anemo unit on my account died. until furina then jean came out of her coffin.
I mean yeah, Ive had that issue with some units too. Which is to say that I built units because people said they were good rather than because I had any need for them. As Ive learned more about the game I naturally learned how valuable certain characters can be for various situations based on footage Ive seen. Sucrose is someone I built after getting Kazuha, and mostly gets used as an E bit, but thats more than enough for her to be situationally better.
My personal recommendation would be to build teammates relevant to a team/character that you want to play with.
Personally, my xiangling has 265 ER, yet I always find myself having energy issues and idk why 😭😭😭
I lvled cook girl way be4 she was c4, in sucrose national she still shreded with subpar artifacts when bursts are on, but then i had to spend some time bringing everyones ult up (except sucrose, she had it up every other rotation)
Havent really used the team since way be4 i c4ed her (bit of trouble hitting airborn enemies and no dedicated mining character) but i started doing emblem domain for them to bring artifacts up a bit (including yelans)

Definetly, I have Xl with a 4-line emblem pyro goblet with CR, CD and ER... and 63 flat def 🥲 but she's overall decent. Currently I need to improve my Fischl and Furina, so all resources are going there right now, and I feel like that happens all the time lol

i lvl up artifacts to 16, since i could be that crit roll come in the next roll, but also i have like a 1000 5s artifacts so i do have tons of fodder.
I dont have enough fodder to level up to 20 because i hate farming😂 it just feels like a waste to do a domain and get nothing. Plus i have characters i need to level up. At least leveling is guaranteed progression.

I feel like Fischl gets under utilized bc in early levels she doesn’t seem to output much damage at all or apply enough electro to seemingly make a difference. She has to be invested in to get returns. I started a new account so being AR 20 with a C0 Fischl, her damage is negligible and it’s easy to see why some people might shelve her for other electro supports
Personally I think it’s less that and more cooldown issues and not knowing that to utilize her you want to do a bunch of Electro reactions in general

I just know that right now with her at level 40 and a sac bow at level 40 with Sucrose, Barbara, and Rosaria shes not doing enough electro charged damage to clear through floor 4 of Spiral Abyss with all 9 stars which is centered around that reaction. Tried to put in Lisa for resonance and to help with energy but Lisa’s… bad. I’m just resolved to get to AR 25 so I can level Fischl up enough to just output better damage and to get more four star artifacts hopefully
@@Solunerra I’ll also admit that it’s probably a personality thing. Fischl wasn’t a character I was all that into on my first play through so she gathered dust. I also didn’t quite get her playstyle with needing to spend field time on her resummoning Oz just so it stayed within range of enemies as the battle moves. Still working on her to better understand her value.
Yeah if you are early game you dont necessarily have a lot of other relevant units to pair with Fischl either, her value definitely goes up over time

the 2pc2pc for EM? depends on what team(s) you're running. if you're doing anything with Dendro reactions, having someone on the team with 4pc Deepwood is almost necessary.
