Thank you. I appreciate that. I guess if you are motivated to do something, you are happy to learn. Sometimes we learn out of necessity when we have a problem that needs to be solved too.

Thanks for this video. I just picked up a car that is setup very similar to this. The way you documented things helped me reference some things for mine, like the sway bar relocation mounts used for the qa1 k member, or the way the heat exchanger hoses are routed.

@fakenews4734 Long story short, the guy passed away and his family was going to have the car crushed lol. Saved it in the nick of time at a great price.

Nice find on the cams, that cam plate was in terrible condition, i think you nailed it with not enough
assembly lube, sitting way too long, engine not getting enough oil to the top end of the engine
during start up. That Kenne Bell supercharger is for sure different that most superchargers out there.
    Great content.

Hey there Justin. I've watched a few of your vids and I like the content. There is a thing with automotive YT channels where they all kind of sound the same and share the same format. This usually happens once they get to be really big, well known channels. Kind of like how some channels try to copy Doug DeMuro and put their arms out behind the car.
So I have found myself looking for smaller channels where the content is singular in it's style or format. I like how you narrate your vids. It gives them sort of an aside effect where you take yourself out of the vid and let the visual content "speak" for itself...along with some narration. It's like the best of both worlds. You're there and you here with us, expanding on the visual content as it plays out.
Not that it matters, but I don't even own a Mustang; I can tell you really like Mustangs, even passionate about them. My DD is an '04 C5 Corvette. It's looks okay with torch red paint, red leather seats, red carpet and red trim, chrome Z06 style wheels. Lots of red. Intake, cam, headers, cat back, HP tune, 412hp. "Gran Turismo Tourer".
But I like Mustangs too and before buying the Vette in Feb. '22, I looked at an '07 Mustang GT Premium with 17K miles and a Kenne Bell supercharger kit. It was blue with white racing stripes and polished wheels. The car lot was asking $22k; this is while used car prices were considerably higher. My budget was $15k and that's what the car lot was asking for the Vette. It wasn't an easy decision and I still think about the Mustang today and wish I would have taken it for a test drive with it's supercharged engine. There's no telling what else was done to it, but you could clearly see the Kenne Bell supercharger sitting right on top of the engine. The car was mint.

That’s really cool. I appreciate the comment and feedback. I always felt like making videos should show what I’m talking about more than a camera pointed at my face and taking up the screen lol. UA-cam suggestions tell me that I may get more views doing the common practice of pointing the camera at my face and blabbing, but that’s not how I want to make my videos. I choose to make the content how I like it and if people want to watch they can and if they don’t, they don’t have to. This is a hobby for me while others try to make it their career. I also really like all American muscle and sports cars. A red C5 is definitely one of my favorites. Yours sounds really cool. A Kenne bell 3V sounds like a nice car but would most likely have issues. Sadly the 3V’s are known as the worst 4.6’s out there. Still a cool car, but the Corvette was probably
      the better choice.

@@justin.c_svt Thanks for the response. I really didn't know "3 valves" were somewhat problematic. But I was aware that it seems people like the older 2 valve engines more...or the Coyote engine especially.
Keep doing the vids the way you like. And since you do it as a hobby, it won't seem so much like work.
Just saying, a popular YT content creator right around the corner from me has 1.27 million subs and I can tell he's kind of burned out from having to make a vid every week, edit them, and post them. He does a popular car review channel and has been doing it for several years. To him it is his career. He doesn't do anything else.

@mlc7boosted Yeah, I’ve told others that I don’t want the constant stress of trying to come up with viral material like other UA-camrs do. They tend to change as they chase the numbers. The 3V’s have a lot of issues with the cam phasers and breaking valve lashes. I have a 3V playlist on my channel about when my friend bought one even though I told him he probably shouldn’t and then we had to replace the entire engine.

Literally about to be doing almost the same build just not quite as bad a$$. Car only has a bbk 78mm tb/plenum cold air intake and 100 shot right now. But we are pulling the motor 132k miles to do rods and pistons and a kb 2.1 kit. But we’ve also got coil overs for it tube k-member and control arms, rear upper and lower tube adjustable control arms, 3000rpm stall, shift kit, longtube headers, ported heads and Howard rattler cams. Between me and my buddy we been getting all these parts together over the last 2 years almost and finally getting around to putting them on. We’ve also got a set of 3.55 gears but we are going to see how the stock 3.27 or 3.31 does whatever the stock gear is. Can’t wait

that head is trashed , there should not be any pits in the cam journals , the journals , or cam bore is the cam bearings , there are no actual cam bearings , the cam bore is probably not straight , send it to a machine shop to verify , but pretty sure its no good , and might want to check the other cam and head ,

    • @justin.c_svt
      @justin.c_svt  3 місяці тому

That’s a good point. I wonder what trouble a little pitting in the head would actually cause. We did put a straight edge across all the journals and it seemed straight. The machine shop has the head now. We’ll see what they say.
