  • Toyota, Honda, Subaru, Nissan, and any other automaker you know of are releasing new models for 2023, and one thing they are all doing is making their cars better than they were. They have all upgraded the technology in these cars and given them a new look. Some of these cars have received a completely new look, and they are all better now. Mitsubishi has not been left behind, and they have recently released the latest generation of one of their crossovers. The Mitsubishi ASX is receiving a new look, though it is being said that it is just the renamed Renault Captur. But what is new with this new generation of the ASX?
Hello everyone, and welcome back to our channel. Today, we will look at the 2023 Mitsubishi ASX as we find out what’s new with this car. But before we move on any further, make sure you give this video a like and subscribe to our channel for more amazing updates on your favourite cars. And with that, let’s find out what Mitsubishi has done with the 2023 model of the ASX.
Mitsubishi has gone ahead to introduce the latest generation of its small crossover. The Mitsubishi ASX is expected to be sold in the brand’s remaining European markets. Mitsubishi has really tried to give new meaning to the term "badge engineering" with this new model of the ASX. With that, the new model is practically identical to the Renault Captur. The only visible difference between the two brands is the front grille trimmings. Apart from that, everything else about the 2023 Mitsubishi ASX is the same as the Renault Captur, including the wheels.
It is not only the exterior, but even the interior is the same as the Renault Captur. Mitsubishi has decided to give the ASX the same engine as the Renault, including the options. These will especially be familiar to fans of the French vehicle. The range starts off with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine that gives the car about 90 horsepower.
The 2023 Mitsubishi ASX is the first full hybrid that Mitsubishi is putting on the European market. This is all thanks to the 1.6-litre gas engine that has been fitted with two electric motors and an automatic multimode transmission. This powertrain gives the driver about 141 horsepower to mess around with.
Finally, at the very top of the range, there is the 1.6-liter plug-in hybrid powertrain. This one comes equipped with two electric motors. In addition to that, it features a 10.5 kWh battery that makes it possible for the ASX to go as far as 49 kilometres (30 miles) on electricity alone. This powertrain is capable of giving the car about 157 horsepower.
The 2023 Mitsubishi ASX is 4,228 mm long, 1,797 mm wide, and 1,573 mm tall (166 x 71 x 62 inches). Mitsubishi has made sure that it has maintained its compact proportions, even though some people are claiming that it has been made a little smaller than the 12-year-old car it is replacing.
In addition to all the new features the car has to offer, the 2023 Mitsubishi ASX also comes with many safety features. Some include standard rear-end collision warning systems with emergency brake assist, pedestrian and cyclist detection, active lane keeping, and even traffic sign recognition. There are other features that are available, such as blind spot assist, active lane tracking, speed warning, adaptive cruise control, and high-beam assist.
The highest trim models of the 2023 Mitsubishi ASX also come with a feature known as Mi-PILOT. This feature combines adaptive cruise control and active lane centering to take over some driving functions while on the road.
The new-generation 2023 Mitsubishi ASX was recently revealed in Europe, and as we have seen, it comes with the option of plug-in, self-charging, and mild-hybrid powertrains.
The 2023 Mitsubishi ASX is expected to join the market in Europe sometime in the second quarter of 2023. It is highly unlikely that the new SUV will be going to Australia any time soon, especially given the fact that Mitsubishi offices in Australia have not confirmed any plans for the new ASX to arrive there.
On the other hand, even as Mitsubishi plans to introduce the 2023 ASX, the current model is still doing quite well in Australia.
The ASX ES has several more features, such as LED headlights, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an electro-chromatic (auto-dimming) rear-view mirror. However, it will not be a shock if the upcoming entry-level ASX removes some of these features to make it more budget-friendly.
So, what do you think of the 2023 Mitsubishi ASX? Feel free to let us know in the comments section below. Also, make sure you leave a like and subscribe to our channel for more amazing updates on your favourite cars.

Excellent narrative with great English, presenting this beautiful awesome car. I don't care if it is a rebadged Captur, it is a really cool car/SUV. I hope they sell this version as is in the Americas.

I have the Renault version with the 1.0 L 3-cy. 91HP engine. This is a rather vheavy car for such a small engine, which lacks sufficient torque. Better get the bigger engine.

Get a Renault Capture. At least it is original and not just a badge swap

The new ASX powered by the Renault 1 litre 3 cylinder Turbo will be the most unreliable ASX to date. Tiny high reving highly stressed turbo engines along with dual clutch transmission doesn’t bode well for longevity.
