Astounding harmony, much like Simon & Garfunkel! One of the most meaningful, poignant, beautiful songs of all time. It is very sad that each minute - this minute, is gone forever, never to return. Thanks for the memories.
I met Seals and Croft in the early 70’s when they played at KStste and I was part of the stage crew for concerts there. They were so wonderful and kind and genuine. It had an impact on me, especially in contrast to others I had met. After the show, tbey asked the audience to stay afterword if they wanted to hear about the Ba ha’i faith. Very low key about the presentation. I remember Mr. Seal’s melodic voice. Truly a special man.
Two of my grandsons graduating high school tonight. May 17 2024. Remembering back , way back, when I was humming this song on way to my own graduation! The class- May 1974. Don’t blink. 😢. Pass the Kleenex Time… slow down ❤❤❤ congratulations to Gavin and Hayden and all senior graduates class of 2024 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I’d hear this song every fall morning in me mom’s station wagon as she drove me to Whittier Middle school for 7th grade. Haven’t heard it since then. I lost my mom in Feb. ..we used to drive around the county road so she could see the spring wildflowers blooming & swaying in the wind…I drove out by myself today and as I sat in the car along the highway watching the flowers move with the breeze…seemingly out of nowhere, it hit me to find this song and play it. It’s so much sweeter today. Makes so much deeper sense now. Love to all on our journey
It definitely wasn’t out of nowhere. When my dad passed in 2010, I heard a song that was our song…”Raindrops keep falling on my head”. Hadn’t heard it in many years, but yet, there it was. I think he was comforting me. Probably your mama doing the same for you. It’s amazing how music can touch our lives. ❤ I am so sorry for your loss.

A great golden duet ever existed in the earth. Great golden singers. I was 11 yeard old and i remember dad and my family and our precious dogs. I missed all of them. God is a secret God. We will them back again one day. Just believe in his great son, Jesus.
Jim Shields and Dash Crofts made some of the most unique sounds of any duo of the early 70's. We knew their music would never sound dated. This song was one of my personal favorites. May Jim Shields rest in peace and may his family know that his music is more meaningful today than ever. Their CDs are the ones I reach for when I need to find peace in this cruel world we live in.
Oh...my...God! So many years have gone by.....I love this music. A lot of music is full hate now n I hate it. Bring back the mind. Take me up. Always up!
R.I.P., Jim Seals. Thanks for all the wonderful music you made with your musical comrade Dash Crofts!!! The world's all the better because of it! Bravo, Seals & Crofts!!!
This was my graduation’s Class of 1975 song 🎶 for Pocatello High School Class of 1975. The song gains meaning each year whenever I hear of a classmate that has passed.
Wow takes me back to the 1970s when I worked at Fender Guitar. Coming home to my sweet wife cooking and Seals and Crofts music coming at me out of the screen door as I came home. Simpler times.
This is such a weird situation.. . . . . .this song popped into my head- right out of the blue!! I am a black, middle aged Army veteran, that was (and still in my head) - A Woodstock Nation ex hippie!! That is quite a mouthful, but my truth! The lyrics simply reverberated in my skull since I woke up this morning, and as I have googled the song, the meaning and sentiment are more poignant than ever!! Jesse Colin Young and the Youngbloods got it right with their song -" Come on people now , get together - try to love one another - Right Now !!
I remember my dad having bought this single for me not long before he died. At the time, I didn't realize I'd soon lose him, and still miss him very much. The lyrics "we may never pass this way again" in this song have proved uncanny and appropriate when I think back.
I know all the words to all your tunes, team Seales & Croft. Such fond memories of those early 70's a time when life was fun and no worries!! Sad for my children now 30's and stressed in this crazy world we call USA!! What is happening folks? Craziness!! RIP sir. To your wife & 3 kids: your Father gave us so much joy!💔
Such a beautiful song from back when life was much simpler. I loved living in the 70's era when music meant something, and as I listen to these old songs, it brings back comfort I don't feel anymore in this world of ours. So thankful for songs out here, where we can listen to them any time we desire.
Bend High class of 1975 graduation song and certainly has much more powerful meaning to me now 47 years down the road. At our most recent reunion in 2015 there was a video tribute, to class members who have passed on, with the song playing behind their bio's...by the end of the video there was not a dry eye in the place. Keep on dreaming and living Lava Bears!
I was into soft rock from the late 1960's on. I first heard this tune as a junior in high school in late 1973, as I thought "ahh, another great song by Seals & Crofts." But it wasn't until during 1999 when I saw a short televised pro football piece on the imment retirement of NFL quarterback great Dan Marino in shown slo-mo passing throwing his tight spirals with the song briefly playing in the background. At that moment just recently turning 42 yrs old, the song's lyrics truly sunk in and resonated my own realization of life and times.
You can never say an instrument does not convey emotion. Starting at 3:14....That's only the beginning of what makes this song one of the greatest soft rock/pop masterpieces of all time. S & C are brilliant!
Ya know, I had COMPLETELY forgotten this song until I just came across it now. And yet I was singing along as 50 years melted away and I closed my eyes and was again driving around my hometown, in my 66 Chevelle.
This song came to this grandma's mind as my grandson played his final football game of his senior year tonight. District champs, and co-captain of his team, he had a fabulous high school career. A monumental time in his life. I was about his age when this song came to be. All of the marks in our lives, I understand now, all the many things we take daily for granted that "may never pass this way again" should be held as precious.
bb lang So agree. I was young when I first heard this song. Did truly appreciate the truth in this song until many years later. Youth truly is wasted on the young to quote a common phrase. Wow it is too true.
used to hear this classic back in the early 1970's when my family went swimming at this outdoor campgrounds facility on the outskirts of plano,Illinois! such magical ,happy memories of a simpler time gone by!
bb lang - I love the music of the 70s. I was just becoming an adult, and music like this made the transition easier. I love this music still today, and I almost feel like crying.
Just finished a modest road trip, and this song kept coming to mind--where I went and the people I saw that I may never see again. "We may never pass this way again" can be a profound reminder of our mortality and a stimulus to enjoy each moment.
Profound, sad, bittersweet lyrics but what a musical masterpiece! Wonderful memories of a great year - 1973. Released on September 8, 1973, reaching # 21 on November 17. Should have been #1.
Had the joy of meeting these fine lads in 1973 whence I was a wee sprog at my family home in Lincoln, Nebraska...they came there to perform at the Univ of Nebraska, barely anyone attended @ the gymnasium if you can believe that.;) Then they hit it big a year later with "Summer Breeze"... This duo of ultra-talent was the real deal, spiritual beings with brilliant messages of peace, hope, unity...I remember the way they dressed, bell-bottoms, bright-colored vests, beads & boots, my they were a bonny lot:) They are members of the Baha'i Faith, just like me Mum & Da were. God Bless them for the beauty they brought unto the Planet Mother Earth. Thanks Jimmy Seals & Dash Crofts! xo JillyKen&JeanneJeffers:) xo
Oh if I could live back in the 70s again. Early 20s, not a care in the world and life was for living.....I will never pass that way again. So much truth in this song and one of my all time favourites. I'm a big Seals and Croft fan. Thanks for posting this.
We used to sit in the little luncheonette after swimming and listen to this and have some french fries. We sang along with S & C and loved this and hummingbird. My girlfriend would be putting in more coins to keep it going. We took the beauty of the moment for granted. We never passed that way again.
Omg!! Haven’t heard this is forever!! This was our Senior Class Song, 1980, High School Graduation.. To go back would be wonderful, such a carefree life, little did I know what I thought would be my “path”, was not even close to where I’ve been.. I’m still here for a reason but damn, who could know??? 💐💐💐
I was only 11 years old when this came out. To have received a message like this at such an early age was a blessing in my life. Thank you for great music and the memories that come with it.
Sherri Frediani, that’s what I keep asking myself. This is why I flashback to the 70’s to remember how 🎶 music was special back then. How prophetic are these lyrics, 😯 wow
Like the twilight in the road up ahead...We may never pass this way again....I don't miss anyone anymore. I've learned to let go of everyone as soon as I no longer see them. Thanks Jim.
Wow! One of the most amazing songs ever!! What an awesome and magical love song, just love it!!! Seals and Croft have a sound that is magical and unique only to them!!!!!
People still commenting on this song 9 years after posted says alot of its long lasting effect. Seals and Crofts music as a whole is so underrated and timeless....beautiful beautiful stuff.
Beautiful song. My whole life I've always turned to take one last virtually everywhere I go because it's so true that we may never pass this way again. I'm 45 now so I'm way more philosophical about this.
Wow. I was born in 1974 in Jackson, Michigan. This song has always been sad, but it helps remind me of great places I've been and where I'd like to return. I may just be a bit too philosophical lol
And yet you all still come and comment....My God...If this isn't the best possible tribute to a song or musicians......Says it all...You touched alot of hearts and souls...I just hope those who never lived to experience such great music can stumble on it to carry it on.
REMINISCING BACK WHEN CLASSIC MUSIC HAD A REALISTIC POETIC MEANING AND IT WAS MADE SO BEAUTIFULLY THAT IT STILL CONTINUE'S TO CAPTIVATE US, KEEP THIS FASCINATING MUSICAL ERA AND BEAUTIFUL MUSICAL MASTERPIECE ALIVE.
In 1976 this was our prom song. Voted on by the seniors. It represented a transition from our High School days to the rest of our lives.. Nostalgic beautiful song... Great times to live in ,never to be passed by again.. my prom date...Kippi Phillips...a good beautiful woman.. and..to put that fun era in a weird perspective the runner up song was the Tubes WPOD..brings a smile
When I was a Junior in High School (Class of '77 Hillsboro, Oregon) My brother was a Senior and they played this at the last assembly of the school year right before Graduation. They showed a slideshow of pictures from throughout the year and yearbook while this song played. It was very emotional.
This song and "time in a bottle" are hands down the best songs that talk about how important and short life can be and that we need to make memories with our love ones and never take them for granted. Its sad but today's songs cant compare to a time when music and songwriting was at its pinnacle.
Many of Seals & Crofts songs have a true Spiritual meaning behind them. If you know about Seals & Crofts and their Faith it adds even more meaning. Yes, we may never pass this way again....the Journey has just begun! Their music sustained me in the 70's and still lifts my Spirit and Soul now at 67 yrs.
Me, too, at 76! almost 50 yrs later! Please God, we work even harder to fulfill Jesus' prayer in the Our Father- God's Kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven!
This was the very first song I heard on the radio just after finding out that my oldest, nearest and dearest friend had passed away. For that reason, it speaks so many volumes. Beautiful tune for my beautiful companion. We’ll pass a different way in the next life. RIP❤️
My late mum used to tell me the quote by Etienne de Grellet: “I shall pass this way but once; any good that I can do or any kindness I can show to any human being; let me do it now. Let me not defer nor neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.” This song is one of my favourites and reminds me of that quote.
I was in junior high. Had the album Sudan Village. Someone gave it to me because they hated it. Not one of my favorites, but it does bring back memories.
This song has popped into my mind the last two mornings as I'm preparing to move out of state. It's just what my heart and soul needs, as I say so long to memories and friends .
If I were you I wouldn't and be a big cry baby about it. it's not helping matters when the young are old such things matters and people back then felt the same way. Idiot.

My girlfriend would be putting in more coins to keep it going. We took the beauty of the moment for granted. We never passed that way again.
We all took our youth for granted. Oh how I’d love to go back with just an ounce of the wisdom
I have now
Always loved this song, my wife and I have been together 40 years, married 37, and try to live each day as though "we may never pass this way again!"
Never get tired of this early 70s tune.
Still makes one cry...
Truly a masterpiece of the 70”s Beautiful song Puts you in a great mood
Great song for reflection, takes me back to a time more pure than now
The world is going to miss you, Jim Seals. Thank you for the music and the memories 🎶🦋💖💝💗
I was only 11 years old when this came out. To have received a message like this at such an early age was a blessing in my life. Thank you for great music and the memories that come with it.
I was the same age, and the song made a huge impression on me as well and for the same reason.
Beautiful song. Why can’t we have music like this anymore?
Sherri Frediani, that’s what I keep asking myself. This is why I flashback to the 70’s to remember how 🎶 music was special back then. How prophetic are these lyrics, 😯 wow
Jeffrey Emerson, well said sir
This song is like a storybook. So well written and performed.
Beautiful song! Memories of my youth ❤
@Desiree Hall This is still a great song after all this time. Unfortunately the memories pass by so quickly as we get older.
And yet you all still come and comment....My God...If this isn't the best possible tribute to a song or musicians......Says it all...You touched alot of hearts and souls...I just hope those who never lived to experience such great music can stumble on it to carry it on.
I agree that it's beautiful stuff. So timeless. People my daughter's age will be listening 40 years from now
REMINISCING BACK WHEN CLASSIC MUSIC HAD A REALISTIC POETIC MEANING AND IT WAS MADE SO BEAUTIFULLY THAT IT STILL CONTINUE'S TO CAPTIVATE US, KEEP THIS FASCINATING MUSICAL ERA AND BEAUTIFUL MUSICAL MASTERPIECE ALIVE.
This song is Seals and Crofts best song .I haven't heard this for a long time.
Thanks for posting this gem.70's pop at its best.
No arguments from me.
We may never pass this way say it all✌🤟🌼
Many of Seals & Crofts songs have a true Spiritual meaning behind them. If you know about Seals & Crofts and their Faith it adds even more meaning. Yes, we may never pass this way again....the Journey has just begun! Their music sustained me in the 70's and still lifts my Spirit and Soul now at 67 yrs.
agree stephen
Me, too, at 76! almost 50 yrs later! Please God, we work even harder to fulfill Jesus' prayer in the Our Father- God's Kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven!
I was not yet born when this song hit the billboard chart but I do really love this piece💖 and as well as all the songs of seals and crofts💕
This was the very first song I heard on the radio just after finding out that my oldest, nearest and dearest friend had passed away. For that reason, it speaks so many volumes. Beautiful tune for my beautiful companion. We’ll pass a different way in the next life. RIP❤️
cleoo2010 Wow....😔
Is this not the the most beautiful composition ? The lyrics are so meaningful in this time we are struggling through !
music will get through
My late mum used to tell me the quote by Etienne de Grellet:
“I shall pass this way but once; any good that I can do or any kindness I can show to any human being; let me do it now. Let me not defer nor neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.”
This song is one of my favourites and reminds me of that quote.
That is TRULY WONDERFUL !!!!!!
Lovely quote.
RIP. Mr Seals Heaven has another vocal angel
You will be missed, but your music will live on!
So many of these songs have beautiful harmony and these songs all have special memorys as a young teen.. I yearn for these times.!!
I grew up with seals and Crofts..
I could spend hours listening to this music..
Thank you so much
It's so peaceful + relaxing in a stressful world ❤️🎵it's my get away
I was a junior in HS when this came out. Fall of '73. Life ...so much simpler back then.
Ditto
We are diamonds taking shape!
I was in junior high. Had the album Sudan Village. Someone gave it to me because they hated it. Not one of my favorites, but it does bring back memories.
What a beautiful song ❤
Truly one of the most beautiful arrangements and lyrical masterpieces from our treasured time.
This song has popped into my mind the last two mornings as I'm preparing to move out of state. It's just what my heart and soul needs, as I say so long to memories and friends .
Their sound and vocals so fit that era of great music.
I want to laugh while the laughin is easy. I wanna cry if it makes it worthwhile...great lyrics. God, I miss the 70s!
I miss them and I wasn't even there! My time didn't start till 2007
wow can i remember this great song during the best years of my life. beautiful memories.
I try telling my grandchildren about how great our country use to be...all I can do is cry.
Senior prom theme... 1977... those were the days...
If I were you I wouldn't and be a big cry baby about it. it's not helping matters when the young are old such things matters and people back then felt the same way.
Idiot.
@@MIKECNW another persons tears shouldn’t make you such a shitty person! Tears are a sign of strength & also shows a persons good heart....whatta rude & uncalled for comment🤬
Cry all you need, just don't let them see you do it. Sure the hell plenty to cry about. Just don't give up.
Many good memories from my childhood listening to Seals & Crofts and Dan Seals. Jim, Dash and Dan's music will live forever. Their message of peace and the radio waves of their music are travelling throughout the universe right now with the speed of the light!
One duo of the greats of the 70s one of my favorite groups, great story tellers.
