I'm 60..still listening to the Eagles since my teenage, high school years of the 70s..😁😁.. a masterpiece of the Eagles.. relaxing song with soul and meaningful lyrics..
The Eagles have always been so romantic and this video just shines with love...Thank you for sharing music with substance to all of us who love to be loved...
this song was playing in car right before my parents told my sister and I our baby brother had died from cancer. for years couldn't listen, now I can but still brings tears. such a beautiful song. RIP Glen Frye...
+Antoinette Williams been there. songs can link to some hardcore emos. When I lost my fiancé to a drunk driver. there are songs I couldn't listen to for the longest of times. this was one of em. empathetic for you.
I just watched two interviews with Glenn Frey; what a humble, noble man. I somehow expected Glenn to be arrogant because of all the amazing talent, but I was so wrong about him. His music is timeless and listening to this song brings back so many memories for me. He was the best of the Eagles in my opinion. RIP: Loved One.
This just popped into my head and just slung me back into my childhood days. A time when music deserved the right to be called music. 2023 and this still holds it's power and beauty.
a medical doctor in his early 50s here. so much stress at work with covid 19. the only thing that is relaxing me is escapism into the rock classics of 70s and 80s. peace.
It's an amazing voice. I hear it since last 40 years. Beautiful composed and outstanding performance. Eagles bass player Timothy B Schmit sang lead and was the primary songwriter on this track.
Good music will always be good music. Imagine a young man in a couple of centuries rediscovering this song and listening to it for the first time, feeling the same we felt
I discovered this 3 years ago. If you don’t feel this in every fiber of your body then I feel sorry for you. What a masterpiece. Thanks to everyone involved.
Eagles- I cant tell you Why is one of my favourite tracks from a long time ago but still holds great memories for me. Theres just something about this tune which makes me want to hear it again. Sometimes legends never go away.
Ironically my favorite Eagles song features one of the rare tracks Timothy B Schmit was given lead vocals on. His voice is terrific here. Love Don's drumbeat with the organ/synthesizer playing opposite that awesome guitar solo to fade out. It sounds even more delicious with your headphones
Well said, the headphones make the song even more amazing. It really brings the bass by Timothy B. Schmit and keyboards by yes, Joe Walsh to life, along with the guitar riffs by Glen Frey and Don Felder, and as you mentioned smooth drumming of Don Henley.
same. other favorites include songs sung by meisner. but basically the 2 douchebags are holding back on all songs they didn't do/write from later shows.
+M Zach Saw the documentary, I think Randy could hit the high notes like Timothy could. I think Meisner's problem might have been substance abuse, he looks terrible now but man, he was so talented, Take It To the Limit is one of their best songs and he was a good bass player.
The Eagles 🦅. I Can’t Tell You Why. What a fantastic band they were. I still listen to all their songs. Great memories from a long time ago. Perhaps, we’ll pass that way again sometime soon. Here’s hoping so. We need something to believe in now more than ever. There’s nothing like great music from the past and re-living that time once again. Total pleasure ….. Mmm 😋
+Johnny Matthew actually Glenn Frey played the lead guitar parts on the original recording. There was an old promotional video for this song after it came out that showed Felder playing the solos in the studio as the camera panned around the whole band. But Frey did the leads, I just confirmed it on Wiki cause I wasn't positive. It threw me too, cause I used to think Frey never touched a solo again post-'75 after recruiting the dynamic duo of Walsh/Felder...

You don't have to worry, just hold on tight
'cause I love you...
Look at us baby, up all night
Tearing our love apart
Aren't we the same two people
Who lived through years in the dark?
Every time I try to walk away
Something makes me turn around and stay
And I can't tell you why
When we get crazy, it just ain't right
(Try to keep your head, little girl)
Girl, I get lonely too
You don't have to worry, just hold on tight
(Don't get caught in your little world)
Cause I love you
Nothing's wrong as far as I can see
We make it harder than it has to be
And I can't tell you why
No baby, I can't tell you why
I can't tell you why
🎸🎸🎸
Every time I try to walk away
Something makes me turn around and stay
And I can't tell you why
