Great knockdown FDNY!
Props to dispatch.
Amazing how fast that white smoke showed up! Super fast knockdown.
Isn't that steam ??
No, steam evaporates, smoke lingers.
@@gunillarasmusson5636
@@gunillarasmusson5636Yes, but a mix of smoke and steam. Class "A" products will continue to produce smoke until completely saturated.😊
The fire was in the back bedroom but it wasn't too hot in there since the fire seemed to vent right out of the windows. Straights shot from the standpipe to the bedroom door!
was the quick knockdown do in part to the presence of a fire suppression system and/or standpipe. FDNY always does good work though. Cheers!
It was not the dispatches first week on the job. He knew his shit.
Nice work by fdny keep it up there
WOW, they knocked that down quickly. Always the heros, FDNY!
That’s astonishing they put water on it that fast.
FDNY heros
Awesome knock down
As always, fantastic work for all companies responding FDNY
17min. impressive
So much radio chatter I didn’t even hear them strike on scene. All I heard was water on fire lol good work
Video and radio talk are not in sync.
Our trucks have MDT. Makes for little response chatter such as response, arrival etc.
Good video of the fire but filming buildings across the street and traffic not needed! Great knock down by the FDNY!
It was citizencam
shitty video
🎉the clouds are amazing. Great job as always superheroes 🎉
Why are you turning the camera all over the place?
E16 nice job!!!!! fast water and knock down!!!!
FDNY....you are the GREATEST.
A day in the life of a FDNY dispatcher.
ANOTHER LESSON FOR RESIDENTS OF HIGH RISE APARTMENTS: always close your entry door after evacuating your apartment!!!
what a draft holy moly hope the fire men are safe
Good work of firefighters, Not so good work of camera man (always looking away from fire, showing random angles and too much moves).
Well done.
What materials in a residential unit could burn and create a raging fire like that? I've only seen that type of rage in chemical or kerosene fires.
Plastic everything. Furniture, carpets, drapes, appliances .... you name it. Even the window frames were melting and burning.
THAT WAS FKN FAST U GUYS !!! WOOOOW !!! GO FDNY !!! BEST IN THU WORLD !!!😮😅😊❤
I see smoke and framed look a nice place there .
Good work
...and that's how it's done! Total pros.
Thank God for fire people.❤
✡lightning?
👍✡👍
you can't burn down a fireproof building
Foreigners attempting to cook indoors…
Awesome video 🫡 FDNY🇺🇸
crappy
😮😮😮
😭😭😭
🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Is there a reason they don't use the NATO phonetic alphabet? Boy for B and was it Willy for w? Surely Bravo and Whiskey is better and universal.
Police and fire phonetic alphabet is different from that of the military / NATO
@@rcor87 Do you know why? Always struck me as odd, especially given how many veterans go on to join police/fire. Even civilians tend to know NATO, willy for w is ridiculous lol
@saramae9878 police and fire phonetic alphabet is much older than NATO. Maybe they didn't want to change it? though I'm not sure. And W is actually William, not Willy. Maybe they were just shortening it. For example, E is Edward and C is Charles, but you'll most often hear Eddie and Charlie used instead.
@@rcor87 I didn't realize it was older, thanks for that info. Make sense they wouldn't bother changing it if it works for them.
@saramae9878 you're welcome. Some departments do in fact use NATO alphabet, its just not as common. And there are slight variations on the police / fire phonetics across the country. One that comes to mind is Y. Some use Young and some use Yellow.
Firefighter for 4 years Union fire sprinkler Foreman for 30 years no sprinklers are you kidding me! Awesome knockdown!
Firefighter for 19 years , sprinkler fitter for 30.thought I was only one
firefighter for 5 years. no sprinkler work. feeling left out. LOL
Not until Local Law 10 of 1999 which was enacted as a result of the so called McCaulay Culkin fire that occurred on December 23, 1998 which tragically resulted in 4 civilian fatalities. As far as I can recall, the law pertains to new construction and is not retroactive except that certain buildings need to comply if they undergo what the DOB classifies as a Major Alteration.
BTW, the original WTC was built without sprinklers. But as a result of the passage of Local Law 5 of 1973 (which pertained to certain high rise Office Buildings) they were eventually retrofitted. That law was still being challenged in court in 1975, but the city eventually prevailed. The Fire Commissioner at the time was John T. O'Hagan and he pushed for the changes.
@@bulldog2289awesome thank you. I just retired from local 669. I was fortunate to do most of my sprinkler work in Montana, 10 years taken care of the sprinklers in Yellowstone Park. All dry systems
clock work
🧐
Well done!
Did this building have water sprinklers in each apartment?
Чего курил сосед?
Great work, they got right on it and kicked that fire's butt!!
The dispatcher definitely has his shit together.
NYFD is something different... they set the bar..
Where are emergency escape ladders for residents?😱
Wow so many numbers wtf
Real life heros
Amazing efficiency.
So much for the sprinkler system? Had to send in the best.
😂😂😂😂😂 they don't have sprinkler😂😂😂😂😂
Nice work by the brothers!
Did I hear a firetruck hit a moped? That dispatcher is amazing. Elite.
I don't think they hit anybody, they just came across the accident.
@@ffjsb oh I thought I heard FD involvement
@@fhowland They said "FD not involved".
Two mopeds collided. No fd involvement.
Good job FDNY.😊
😂😂😂😂 they lost entire apartment😂😂😂😂😂
@@TodSpurlc The Apartment can be redone (renovated or refurbished) and they did not lose the building thankfully. And it's not funny to go and laugh about someone losing their apartment like that.
Nice channel
Wow that’s impressive. Government workers doing what they are paid to do. Heros right folks?
Yes, because there is very little difference between somebody arranging the repair of some potholes and somebody that goes into a fire to rescue complete strangers. It’s basically the same job. Both government workers just doing their jobs I have no idea why people celebrate firefighters I mean anyone can do that right? 🤔🙄
@@BeckiMuttley right, spray liquid, put out fire. Simple
