This was my grandfathers favorite show. We used to all sit around the TV every Saturday night and he would howl with laughter. We didn't though because our mouths were full of pie and cheese. The old days were so nice.
@@AC-hj9tv No, it's not just "Gen Z " ...being satirical and nonsensical by design is different from just being random and nonsensical due to a short attention span. This is very different, Camille is Genius!

Video cameras from that time were actually really good. They used three vacuum tubes instead of the CCD cameras of the 80s. If you can get any video tapes from that time you'd be amazed at how good the quality was. Keep in mind that getting a video tape from the 50s is nigh-impossible. It's more likely you'll see film that was converted to tape via kinescope. That is the origin of the cliche, "film at 11."
If I had a nickel for every time this week putting a slice of cheese on apple pie has been brought up by someone else seemingly out of nowhere, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but I'd be able to afford a house in the 1950s.
this is the logical meta to variety shows. put all the talent onstage simultaneously, eyeballs will be drawn to the best ones. this maximizes revenue per minute of screentime.

ok so not only can you make hilarious dry witty philosophical humour but you have a crystal clear singing voice as well with absolutely flawless pitch control what the heck XD

Well executed excuse to sing for us!
Thank you for doing whatever this was
Haha! Exactly.
Ragtime singers appearing out of thin air was truly what the 50s were known for.
I suspect ragtime performers would not have been a common occurrence in a 50s era late night show, for obvious reasons.
I don't think that's ragtime.
Edit: It is apparently a Foxtrot.
It's definitely not ragtime smh
Did anyone actually find any part of this video humorous?
