editing myself into a silent film

Original film- Barney Oldfield's Race for Life (starring Mabel Normand, who is said to have invented the pie-in-the-face gag). FACT CHECK: The trope of the damsel in distress tied to the train tracks wasn't actually a popular trope during the silent era. This film in particular is a parody of Victorian melodramatic theatre.

i performed at my college. EDIT: I apologize about the typos. I put too much confidence into the auto generated captions and I missed some incorrect spelling. it doesn't matter that much, u get what i was trying to say

and then i never saw it again
after watching several of your vids, yt pulled me into an infinite loop of videos of something called bolex h16
those pancakes had got the chemical X.
This simultaneously felt like a scene about the Bene Gesserit and also a confession of some kind. I hope she's okay
This video is like a test you can use to see who's smart cuz if they laugh they're smart
(Un)fun fact: That is a myth. People in the audience didn't think the train would drive them over.
Their mistake. They're all dead now.
I remember seeing a guy taking pics of you in a park on UA-cam shorts lmfao
That was so dangerous why they would send the train to us?????? Terrible box of hazards in my palm
get out from under that train, you silly
The low-volume music just blindly careening through the whole thing.
#TooRealistic
You will be missed as you have transcended humanity and become silica
not gonna lie that musical bit was a low key banger
Fun fact: this was the first use of the slo-mo reaction shot on live television.
The only thing inaccurate about this video is the way the table is positioned: the tables at Olive Garden actually form a perfect right degree angle and it breaks all basic laws of perspective and dimension. This is why we only THINK the salad and breadsticks are unlimited
Don't worry, eating those won't kill you. They're in fact non toxic.
Seriously, don’t eat those desiccant packs. They aren’t poisonous, but people choke on them.
Don’t go towards the lobby !
Knowing that this is your earliest trauma as a vampire explains so much about why you dont audibly express emotions in any of your videos. Thank you for this it was very brave of you to share your experience.
I'm gonna be that guy and point out that there's no evidence that the original screening frightened viewers. The urban legend probably comes from a 3D screening that was done decades later, which makes more sense anyhow.
Are they really “adding substantive value” to the work? This seems like just another lazy react channel shitting on intellectual property…
I really hope that the train is okay! Has anyone checked on the train? Is it all right? Is the train okay??
My animation teacher in high school told me about this. The people who saw this for the first time really thought the train was real and it was going to kill them.
That is indeed the popular legend, but it has been pretty much disproven. The story of people being flustered or scared by the train only started circulating decades later and is nowhere to be found in the numerous contemporary reports about the screenings. As film became an ever more dominant medium, the tale kept getting exaggerated of course. My highschool music teacher told it as people running out of the theater in a mass panic.
This is fucking hilarious God I love you
Yup people back in that year definitely freaked out over a moving picture and it wasn't typical sensationalism to drum up sales for movies which literally are just coming out at the time. Yup. Just like how some men would cry and even die when watching a play of 'death of a salesman' be acted. Yup. My grandma is a virgin too, don'tyaknow?
I don't know how you think to make stuff like this but I'm glad you do
There were actually reaction movies in the early 1900s. There was a popular series called "drunk uncle goes to the theater" or something along those lines that was basically this, but with no audio because it was the early 1900s.
they're making movies way too scary lately back in my day the pictures didn't even move
:(
I remember when I was maybe 4 years old, I ran into another room the first time I saw the opening credits for “Petticoat Junction,” with the train coming toward the TV screen
What the hell
oh rats
Would you pull the lever if a video of a trolley was headed towards Camille?
OH MY
Alcibiades should have invaded Silica (Not Sicily)
Toy Food !!! ua-cam.com/video/gVvhxwtFsnE/v-deo.htmlsi=W--71VO9XTnqtGnj
Last time i went there the place was straight up filthy
0:42 so awkward can't even maintain eye contact with a guy whose been dead for 50 years
Upon witnessing this train approaching so carelessly I would have perished in the theatre
I wonder where the microphone is
Great pose! Those eyes!
Try harder
Based on facts. Some viewings ended with people running out of the cinema. 👌
EGADS! This moving picture was quite dreadful 😅
Hahahahhahaha Omg I loooove your humor so much
Now show the video of Bessie showing her ankles at the beach.
@mellisb Do you want them to shut down the place?!?
Demonetized!
@@mellisb “It was so realistic, I thought that Bessie’s feet would kick me from the screen!”
THAT IS MY FEELING AS WELL STOP - I PRAY THE TRAIN HAS LEFT YOU UNHARMED STOP - I SHALL VISIT IN THE SUMMER SHOULD THE MOUNTAIN PASS CLEAR BY JUNE STOP - ALL MY LOVE TO MEREDITH STOP - YOUR BROTHER HENRY STOP

I don't understand. I heard a voice talking, but I was expecting to hear a panicked oboe
