Ako i love this place lalo ung sinabi mong malapit sa DC at New York, pang America talga ang feels dito.. Sa DMV naman, ganyan tlga sa office nila mahigpit at MAHAL ang mga processess dto. Medyo mataas ang cost of living dto pero doable naman sya, proud to be living here for almost a year. Wishing you guys have a good life dto. Sana ma meet namin kayo at colab hahaha!

Its still good in Maryland just buy a house outside city mid DC and Baltimore then if youre already an American citizen you can work in Veterans hosp so you can have a better health benefits when you retire and there are nice Asean resto around specially in Montgomery county and I got my license in Md way back 1986 then transferred in New Jersey fully retired here in South Jersey Good luck to you after bedside you can start looking for another dept in nursing easier for you
Yung friend ko balak nila sa maryland. Parang gusto ko rin lumipat out of illinois kasi mahal ang tax dito. Yung american wife ko is ok lang naman na lumipat. Hopefully etong youtube2x journey namin magi success para magka pera pang lipat. 😅
1st, Maryland has a Strict Driver’s License Policy because MD is one of the States that has REAL ID (a circle and a Star on the right hand side of your license card) this signifies that your ID is already pre-checked for all necessary identification requirements i.e. passport application, airports and seaport screening. Unlike other States, which are mostly “Blue” Stares, ie NY, NJ, CA, etc. they don’t have REAL IDs because even non-legal immigrants can acquire a Driver’s License, which is highly prohibited in the State of Maryland. 2nd, Vehicle Registration Transfers. The transfer fee is based upon the assessed value of the vehicle times the 6% MD excise tax. Excise tax is totally different from the sales tax. If Alabama has 10% sales tax, but the excise is 2-4% then you have to pay the 2-4% MD difference. Just like when a person from NY transfer to MD, which NY has 8.625 Sales taxes compared to MDs 6%, but excise is 5% compared to MDs 6% then he/she has to pay the 1% difference from the excise tax. I hope this helps people like you and all other people who want to transplant in MD?

We have had Governor Larry Hogan, a Republican as our governor until 2023, then he was followed by a Democratic Governor, Wes Moore. Just like Virginia, where they used to have a Democratic Governor and now they have a Republican. Maryland and Virginia can also be considered as a Swing State, unlike DC, which is a Solid Blue.

Doon parang you are trying to “pull teeth” or “ pass thru an eye of a needle” sa pag process sa gov’t agency. Tapos dapat may “pa- dulas”pa if you want it to be expedited. Pag sinabi nila na “madali lang yan ma’am”, matakot ka na. Cuz it will cost you a lot and “madali” in time frame to them does not mean in a days time but in months to years. 😂😅
If you have a new car (less than a year old), when you transfer to a different state, they will charge you of sales tax as part sa transfer ng registration.
