I set up my 2024 Medicare with you. My question for 2025 is changing /comparing additional cost, if any, from my current plan to a plan that is offering a Flex card or something similar where you use that card to buy groceries or items from pharmacy?
@@AbtInsuranceAgency hello. :). I am eligible for Medicare in January due to being on SSD for 24 months. Is my deadline for deciding which plan I want also Dec for January?
Thank you, Stephanie, for being my agent for four years now! You helped me to choose the best prescription drugs plan and the supplement plan for me in my area! You helped me to worry less and enjoy more of my golden years. 😊
Why does it have to be so confusing to the most vulnerable population it’s sickening to me. Now I have to pay out more money for my MAPPS program or not have full coverage that’s $241.00 a month extra which I can’t really afford out of my SS, so if I stop working my part time job what happens? I can’t work forever nor do I want too, remember it’s the golden years. Right 🤨
I'm on Medicare and I know it can get expensive with the part B premiums, deductibles, and part D drugs. Part C can be much let costly, but other problems can happen. Original Medicare covers alot. A supplement with a higher deductible might work out best. Medicare isn't cheap but it is insurance you are guaranteed to use. Contact an agent that specializes in Medicare.
Thank you, Stephanie, for your great videos. Carter, ftom your company, has been helping me navigate enrollment in Medicare and a plan G and part D plan. He has been very helpful and has been good about following up. I wish I could say the same about my previous employer, who is taking forever to provide me with an L564 form. 🤨
I had an agent call me and pretend she was a social security agent. She was willing to come to my home and help me . I thought she was ligit because i am on SSD. As she spoke about different plans she had available, i started to realize she was a Medicare Advantage rep. I finally told her, I'm feelings VERY uncomfortable, we need to cancel that appointment.
A couple of years ago, I decided to change my Medicare supplement plan provider. I forget the details, but I went from a standard deductible to a high deductible plan with a different provider. I assumed that when you change providers that the previous provider was automatically cancelled. In February, I realized I was being charged for both the old plan and the new. It was fairly easy to take care of, but put me in a panic I didn’t need. along with two monthly payments out of pocket (no refund).
I am so happy I found your videos before I enrolled in Medicare! I have referred people to you as well. Start early figuring this stuff out! I got Medicare in March of last year, and on the 20th of that same month I got a cancer diagnosis. I am very pleased with my Medicare decisions because the costs have been very reasonable.
Keep teaching! Yes, I found Medicare to be confusing when first starting. Thankfully, in my personal opinion, I understood the Advantage “concept”. Yeah. Did I feel stupid paying a monthly premium while friends were getting “free” Medicare coverage? Yes. But I did my research. When cancer hit, I was covered for some very expensive tests and treatments. I’m delighted that you are giving information to the public! I wish you continuing career success as I admire your ethical standpoint.
@joannc147 I hope that you are doing well! Regarding people that say that they are not paying anything for their Medicare plan, that is absolutely impossible unless they only have part A, which is unlikely. Everybody pays exactly the same for Part B, which is $185 per month. Did you get some sort of additional coverage on top of that? Most Medicare Advantage plans are paid for with the $185 but I have seen some that charge above and beyond.
I live in Hawaii, I’m 62 on SSD. I was taken off Medicaid, due to income, on June 30th. That is when I signed up for Medicare Advantage and a private insurance to help cover what isn’t covered by Medicare Advantage, because I wasn’t qualified for Medigap in my state, until I turn 65. I am still eligible to get xtra help from Medicaid for Plan D and plan B premiums. When I turn 65 will I be able to go back on regular Medicare with a Medigap plan or am I stuck being on Medicare Advantage? Thank you for your videos. They are very informative and easy to understand.
Thanks for the info, in all your You Tube's, I have referred others to your YT site and appreciate your honesty and clarity with your guidance and information!
I know you are getting out of the Part D recommendations, but one thing of which some new to Medicare may not be aware, you do need to confirm with your pharmacy of choice as to whether or not they will accept your upcoming Part D plan. For example, the plan offered by Aetna is affiliated with CVS under their Caremark services, and is not accepted at some major pharmacies such as Walgreens. It is accepted at many local pharmacies, but may be considered out of network, and you might be paying a little higher price for certain medications. This is just a heads up, as some may think prescription plans are universally accepted.
Great tip. And although several Part D insurance companies are choosing not to work with agents and brokers in 2025, we are definitely committed to making sure all of our clients understand the ins and out of how to choose the right plan - and to confirm which pharmacies are in network with which plans. It can be very confusing, and visit the wrong pharmacy could cost you significantly more!
@@AbtInsuranceAgency sad when certain companies stack the deck with a plan that helps a lot of clients only to set the table and cut agents out completely the next year because they know a lot of those plans will stay in force. The good agents will always do whats right for the client even ic that results in not getting paid for that plan but it does say a lot about the integrity of the company and the value ghey put on money and not the clients/ agents

How about those that received a cancellation letter on advantage care plan for next year. Their plan C is no longer available in 2025. Can they now switch to a Original Medicare supplement plan like plan N?
Don't ever buy anything from a sales person on the phone or invites themselves to your home. If YOU didn't call them and/or invite them, then don't buy anything. Thst covers ANYTHING.
Yes, you have to use the MA plans network and doctors and there will almost surely be pre authorization requirements co pays and co insurance costs. The main thing is they don’t cover the 20% co insurance for part B drugs so you will be relying on the out of pocket maximum to limit that cost. Also, although you rarely hear these UA-cam brokers mention it but chemo drugs aren’t the only part B drugs there are. If you needed on for another condition the MA plan wouldn’t cover that either. It makes the out of pocket maximum extremely important.
Hi Stephanie, I did receive a notice of change from our individual health insurance- BCBS. My question is: is that who I stay with when I start Medicare in January 2025? Thank you very much, Teresa
I turned 65 in February. I didn't sign up for Medicare. I'm still working full-time and have coverage through my employer. Should I sign up this enrollment period? I'll continue to work until I reach my full retirement age in August.
@@rrobinnyc11411 if your employer has 20+ employees and your coverage is good and affordable you may choose to delay Medicare until you retire! You won’t be penalized as long as the coverage is creditable.
On average, what does CMS pay private MA plan insurers per enrollee per month to cover Medicare beneficiaries? Aren't the private MA plan insurers (for-profit corporations) working to privatize all of Medicare, to takeover the Medicare fund? Maximizing profits with their institutional decisions to deny claims. Healthcare should not be this complicated and patients shouldn't have to shop for their plans and doctors every year.
