I'm new as of 2025 July. Just starting to learn about the Medicare & all it entails. Now that I learned about the dead lines, since I turn 65 in July I need to find out my specific dead line to sign up. Im going to do as much learning as I need to on my own & as I'm learning I plan to right questions as they come up in my mind. But still worried that sometimes, ( actually ALOT of times) I may not know enough about this complicated maze to ask all the right questions. Hopefully the person I choose to be my mentor in this gigantic puzzle will be able to steer me in the best way for my individual circumstances 😊

Exactly. All a money sucking scam. Two worst entities to get together. Government and insurance companies. If you live in Eastern Pa. Medicare Advantage is the way to go. One thing I will NEVER buy is supplemental insurance. They get what Medicare pays, period. Time for people to start suing the government over this nonsense.

Hello. I was on my last employer's Cobra till end of December, 2024, but my coverage ended because I am turning 65 in January of 2025. I will be eligible to join my wife's employer group health insurance, which is a creditable coverage for part B, starting in February 2025 and plan to do so. This leaves me with one moth gap in coverage before I am have coverage through my wife's employer. Considering I am still within my initial enrollment period, will I be penalized when I sign up for part B in the future during my SEP? Thank you!

@@bobjavidi707 no you should not be penalized- Part B penalties kick in after you go 12 months without creditable coverage. Part D penalties kick in after 63 days without creditable coverage.

Again with the cost of part D for 2025 most people can not afford traditional Medicare. Just not possible. If money is no issue yes traditional Medicare. However for the 75% of the rest of the population Medicare advantage is the only realistic option and that is why yearly more and more on a MAPD. Very simple. Your explanations are correct but you’re leaving out the reality for most people. Money is the main concern for most. Spending $300-$500 per month for traditional medical is half of their ss or Ssdi or sis income. Please interject the financial aspect in explaining making a choice. It’s as if your speaking to people that can afford anything and statistically your 70% incorrect in this assumption.

I enroll on average 400 Medicare enrollments per month 12 months a year licensed in 50 states. 98% are MAPD plans. People can barely afford this years part b premium and most will take a part B giveback plan even with higher copayments etc just to save some money so they can eat. The “perspective” anyone is just “selecting” which “path” to go down is pure rubbish to anyone with some serious Medicare volume and experience in all states. In another five years at current rate MAPD enrollments will be the norm with a very very small percentage of wealthy people staying in traditional Medicare.

I’m sure Stephanie can and will address this much better, but there are a lot of factors in deciding which is best for your situation. My house is split down the middle. I’m on an advantage plan that works great for my slew of health issues and a ton of resulting medicines. On the other hand, my husband is on traditional Medicare and has been battling bladder cancer for over a year. 4 procedures under anesthesia to scrape out cancerous tumors, 3 rounds of 6, weekly bladder infusions, 3 rounds of camera inspections, and finally, 3 months ago a radical removal of his bladder and prostate and a 5 day hospital stay. Add follow ups ostomy supplies for the rest of his life and the grand total has been the $240 yearly deductible. This would not have been the case on an Advantage plan like I’m on.

It will be much better than current administration. The 2025 medicare advantage plans decreases in drug coverage such as now adding drug deductibles and dropping some drugs that were covered previously results from the current administration's reduction act that mandated a $2k cap on drugs.
