I would really like to see an Australian Aborigines reaction to Slab City. I mean, the thing is, it is a bunch of hopeless welfare checks freeloading parasites at Slab City, larping/acting at being in Fallout 3 or some shit - in one of the richest states in the United States, the richest nation on Earth. Now, curiously, in the case of the Australian Aborigines, who can trace their nomadic, hunter-gatherer lifestyle back to their earliest forebears literally over 60,000 years ago if not several thousand years older than that archaeologically, as well as possessing of an arcane oral history (as they did not write books, but made rock art and cave paintings, but even more importantly recorded their stories in story and song, surprisingly strongly retelling those stories - and it is thought some today are possibly stone age in origins, that is how well they orally preserved their own history in spite of so much change following colonialism) there is a very different thing going on.
While the British Empire and later Australian government mistreated them, which is an accurate observation - I don't hate on the Empire, being a British patriot, but I immediately will be the first to highlight its errors, crimes and evils, as that is the only way we can assess anything; truthfully, and I'm a lover of truth, fairness, logic and honesty - and Christian missionary workers tried to forcibly erase Aboriginal ways of life, names and even their history, as well as practically abducting Aboriginal children to force to be educated and brought up with Western clothes, Christian names and modern occupations in the towns growing up especially during the 19th century, the truth is, Aboriginal Australians in many cases now have the full protection of the Australian government.
However, while it is rightly celebrated that, in a form of ethnoarchaeology (noun: definition - the study of the social organisation and other ethnological features of present-day societies on the basis of their material culture, in order to draw conclusions about past societies from their material remains) and cultural preservation in action, has continued and shall continue, with their intimate relationship with their world, in the Australian outback, the difference between these ancient ''primal'' cultures, and the western anarcho-communists/''primitivists'' or whatever the hell they want to call themselves, is *hilarious* I mean the disparity on countless levels is magnificently funny.
      Lets see:
      Australian Aboriginal culture:
      - Harks back to a *60,000 year heritage* of nomadic peoples ranging over Australasia, people who once fought and died the monstrous giant reptiles such as Megalania priscus, a 7 metre long, 3 tonne Monitor Lizard akin to the Komodo Dragon (in fact, it has been proven it was the ancestor of the Komodo Dragon, when some migrated out of Australia and got smaller over time on their islands in Indonesia)
      - Are worldwide respected for their cultural importance and significance, similar to how Maori and native American peoples are respected for their situations historically, and their modern day continuation in spite of all they've endured.
      - Have a literally prehistoric vintage art style that is recognisable worldwide - namely, the dot painting style using naturalistic colours and now all colours too (I remember art class in high school here in the UK, making dot art Australian Aboriginal style art in class, for one module, way back in the day, and I always loved it, so modular and fun to make things with, really beautiful when done right) that basically anyone with half a brain should know where it comes from in origins as a style.
      - Have an integrated and yet unique, governmentally recognised and *legally secured* right to sacred lands and burial sites, relationship with ''modern Australia'' as in the predominantly white Anglophone peoples that descend from the British who colonised the continent after Captain James Cook found it (though he did so around 60,000 years after the first Aboriginals did)
      - Have an expert level mastery of surviving in hostile desert environments with literally zero modern trappings or devices if needs be, and a near symbiotic relationship, which is also very sustainable indeed, with their environments.
      - Expert local and wider ranging geographical, but non-scientific type ''ground wisdom'' of their land, knowing where to dig for water, roots and tubers, and where to hunt any particular of animal they see, and how to survive in any single situation the Australian outback can throw at us. Literally as in tune with their natural world, as European hunter-gathers were with the Ice Age landscape, or as in tune with their natural world as San bush people are with theirs in Africa today, or how Vietnamese peoples were and to some extent still are with their jungles. A truly staggering ability to survive with zero help, zero modern technology, zero advanced civilisation.
      - Unique and world famous musical instruments, such as the didgeridoo, as well as other instruments/crafted items, such as the boomerang. Again, iconic, famous and well liked for what they are. Just cool things that humans have made, cool and different, showing the variety of the human people worldwide yet again.
      - Their own languages and dialects with resourceful interconnected communities with an intense love and care for one another, and a low occurrence of violence or warfare between their peoples going back a long time. Very much a people that learned long ago they needed to help each other to stay alive since prehistoric times in Australia when death could come in a thousand and one ways if you tried to live alone recklessly.
      - A strong place of respect and partial modernisation (only) in some places. Many Aboriginal descended people in Australia are now fully modernised and some are descended from those who were *forced* to modernise by the British Imperials or later the Australian government of some previous decade or other. However, now, they are at a better place of peace and understanding with the ''Western'' type Australian country that has grown from its imperial roots in the past.
      - Cool people who like most Australians are among the nicest folks on this Earth, like the Kiwis/New Zealanders are too (met a fair few Kiwis though never met an Australian, while at uni here in the UK, seriously they are great folks, so chilled but hard working and kind at the same time)
      .........
      Slab City type of people:
      - Body Odour.
      - Dubious/supremely questionable motives.
      - Parasitic behaviours born *out* of capitalism to *feed off and parasite ON* Capitalism, while claiming to be anti-Capitalist un-ironically.
      - Desperately poor circumstances, zero interest in contributing to society while openly claiming to be collectivist and socialist in some kind of ''positive context'' (I don't believe either can ever be positive in truth, as I fucking hate those terms and what they pertain to)
      - Social disorder; no legal system; no accountability; risk of losing everything to some vandal/thief/criminal, including the risk of being murdered with no social security, law enforcement, or laws at all.
      - Ironically a total incompetence regarding actual hunter-gatherer survival skills. Now, seriously this one is mega important. Look at British survival experts such as Ray Mears or Bear Grylls, to see how important and powerful those skills can be in those situations - or like I say, just look at Aboriginals and other peoples like them (from archaeological history, or the modern world in ever rarer communities out there, from the Amazon to the Outback, from Siberia to the Congo) The fact of the matter is, that people can live *anywhere* almost and we're impressive beasties when it comes to our persistence and endurance in hostile environments, considering our relatively frail bodies and energy hungry physiology and anatomy. We somehow just make it work, in the most desolate and grimmest of conditions.
*But these fucking have a go hippy wannabes leeching on society would fucking STARVE* after a few months without their ill-gotten gains and sly means of subverting their political narrative. They act like they don't need help but clearly get help more covertly, and by book or by crook get the fuck away with it.
      - Some rusty shit as an excuse for civic architecture.
      - Clearly a heavily processed, biased and blinkered vision, narrow-minded, echo-chamber type ''library''.
      - Some average looking Tatty Bojangles librarian with likely disgusting hygiene, yet who happens to possess 10/10 - tits but that is about it. This, big boobed ''voice of reason'' and ''wisdom'' in her ''community'', smashing bottles to relieve stress and being liable to destroy other people's belongings because hey, she feels like it that day or the next. How charming.
      - Oh and drugs, a massive presence of laziness, and likely a scary number of transient convicts and up-to-no-good deadbeats on the run, passing through at will. This could include psychotic murderers. Yayyyy!
*Now imagine the facepalm a traditionalist Australian Aboriginal would make looking at these fucks*

Two fundamentals of a free society seem to come out of this slab city experiment: guns and fences are absolute necessities. The most "free" society still needs protection from others.

    • @calebland6246
      @calebland6246 5 років тому +21

I have a fence between me and my neighbors. We get along great because our own resources are demarcated. He knows I won’t steal his shit and I know he won’t steal mine. It doesn’t even have to be a real fence, but just an understanding that what’s over here is mine and what’s over there is his.
It’s like our own personal tribes. My wife and kids are over here, and his are over there. We trade, bond and get along because we acknowledge those boundaries.
Right now he’s building a giant shed on his property and I don’t contest it because it’s his property. If we didn’t acknowledge the boundaries then I might get angry because his shed is too close to my house.

As long as we are only talking about cash disbursements, direct assistance is a tiny fraction of the federal budget. It only gets insane when you include healthcare cost, and the administrative costs for all of the indirect assistance programs.

Libertarians just want private means to fund things rater then funding things via central planning and taxes. In early America they had roads funded via lotteries and voluntary fundraising. Most Libertarians want to have a government like early America had, which is why the US is kinda like a holy land for libertarians. Also, the Anarcho-capitalist don't technically want to just get rid of government, they just want to decentralize and privatize it, letting all the governing services be provided via the market. That's the difference between the retarded anarcho-commies and the anarcho-capitalist capitalist. The anarcho-capitalist at least accept the ideas of hierarchy, law, and order.

And that's great that they do that, the problem is many seem to want everyone else to live, think like them. Unfortunately, too many I know are also cat wee scented, don't like the finer things of western civilization--and some talk as if they don't like it at all (though they benefit--and I'm not talking material goods like iphones). Speaking of people calling bits of rubbish "art work," as a garbage human, I've become aware that this is an entire subgenre of art called, "modern art". In the world of "modern art," a person could literally dry out a turd, dip said turd in bronze (or even spray it with gold colored paint, realistically), and it would be considered a masterpiece, and it's meaning would be deeply contemplated and debated by the world's biggest snobs, for at least the next half a decade!

I lived like this for a while in New Mexico. It was horrible. Nobody ever had any money, everyone had tons of ideas, but nobody would actually do anything. I was the only one with a job. When they say 10% of the people do 50% of the work, in these communities it's even less than that. Food was terribly scarce. Most people depended on charity from a church in the nearby town. Water was insanely difficult to find. Nobody ever bathed and they smelled like it too. Trust fund babies would show up to live like this on purpose and as you can imagine they would be quite popular. They had resources after all. I saw a documentary made about the same mesa in 2007. I lived there in 1998. I should mention how preachy a lot of these people are too. Took me two months to escape into town into a normal house. Didn't take long for me to understand human nature in all it's disgusting glory, and the fact most people are truly lazy. Oh yeah, and the artists. Art.....right. Lawlessness. Heck yes, so many thieves. What a crap way to live.

But before that went too far, the Blackfoot tribe captured us, to hold us for ransom. They were a backward bunch. But the real problem was, they didn't know how to fight. Cornelius ironically sounds like she is evoking an 18th century European imperialistic aristocratic dandy, larping as a Roman aristocrat. Probably Swedish or British, wearing a wig, with curled hair, with powdered cheeks in a totally-not-gay way (totally gay) and basically being the kind of person who thinks they are better than everyone else cos they sound like a Roman senator. You know, the kind of person who would have condoned wiping out every last one of the people in Slab City or inversely watching them fight to the death in the Coliseum XD
Then we have the discordantly bolted-on ''VanGogh'' which is simultaneously extremely pretentious while also making a portmanteau out of a well-respected man's name, and shunting the words of his name together to make one made up name. This, done so in the most unimpressive way imaginable. Doesn't work at all - like her **badoom tish** lol
Yep, Tatty Bojangles fits her so much better; Tatty, referring to her *BIG TITS* and the word, ''tatty'', as in, something run down, dirty, threadbare, rough, ruined and low quality. Totally befitting of the person to which those cracking ta-tas belong. Bojangles...cos, sounds like jangling, jangles, jangling TITS.
Bottom line, shes got big tits, is a bit of a tit herself.
      TITS.

We'd better gear up, as she's probably a boss with a unique shotgun and throws Molotov cocktails at you. Bastard game devs stuck the thing in a library with a librarian to make it seem easy. ;)

Love how they need two signs pointing to the “library” right on top of one another (presumably because people keep destroying one or the other of them, and two signs saves a trip). I know what you are thinking: “why wouldn’t they just destroy both signs?” Because after the first sign is destroyed, most of the time, either they lose interests or they just jet tired, need a break, and forget that they were trying to destroy the library signs.

I think places like that are perfect. Imagine how much mental illness is contained there? - It saves society a lot of trouble. I view it as a voluntary nutward.
