I was underwhelmed by the design of the steelbook set. I personally don't care for the "mostly white" aesthetic (though I know lots of people find it "clean" and pleasing) and it uses mostly the same Struzan artwork as the regular version, but with somewhat less color/detail, so I didn't think the steelbook set was worth the extra money for me. I am a Struzan fan though, and I am glad they used his classic artwork! As for the picture quality, comparing 4K screenshots, the 4K version looks noticeably more detailed and better IMO!
Sorry to dispute you but the only steelbook in that set with Drew Struzan's artwork is CRYSTAL SKULL. RAIDERS is Richard Amsel's work from the '82 reissue poster and TEMPLE OF DOOM is Bruce Wolfe's artwork from the Style A poster for that film. On LAST CRUSADE, I suppose you could argue that they took Struzan's "head and shoulder" teaser poster for that film and expanded it to a full body shot, but still, Drew Struzan never did that artwork. But on the whole, I agree with you. The packaging is very lackluster on both versions.

@@markpugh6808 yes but I rewatched all the first three and ther alot of silly and unrealistic scenes and then- in raiders at the end ghosts come out the box and melt them in temple they fall out the sky in a dingy then land fine in a river.... also the 5th film is based on the nazi bell which will involve messing with time and space and ufos so just wait for that 😆
@@rigbyrib100 yes the other films have daft moments but they were entertaining daft whereas the 4th film just doesn't have the same feel about it and doesn't have a decent villain like the other 3 films

The thing I never realized on the Temple of doom was that Dan Aykroyd was in the very beginning it was pointed out on another video on UA-cam absolutely priceless that I’ve watched it for seven years and never caught myself
My buddy and I picked up ours at Best Buy last night. We both found out later each of ours has a similar scratch on the Crystal Skull spine. Looks box cutter-ish, but there was no slit in the shrink-wrap so go figure. We're doing our screening at his house Friday night. Outstanding review!!!!!
Indy over Star Wars for me too, but I feel the set is kinda pricey at $100 for the steelbooks, especially considering the subpar packaging and no 1080 Blu-rays included. Still can’t wait to check them out. I got mine Wednesday but waiting for the weekend to binge them. Great video as always Adam!
I was in panic mode, when I saw sold out. But when I saw I could get the steel books. I jumped on it. And I got the steel books at the same price as the regular 4K cause had 10 bucks off. But looks like they will be coming next week ? Great review looking forward to seeing these on 4K

The outer box is garbage. I just threw mine away and put steelbook protectors on each movie. I hope the 5th movie matches the cases from these four so all five look good on the shelf. I can't wait to watch all four movies this weekend. Every review I've seen has been glowing. Well other than the cheapo packaging. This release currently has a 2.8 rating on BestBuy due to the crappy outer case. You know they'll release a new 5 movie set in a few years. It will be interesting to see if they improve the outer shell. What would've been great is an Avengers/Rambo style steel holder with an empty 5th compartment built-in for the 5th movie. As always, great review Adam!

The first 3 movies all have a 2.35:1 aspect ratio. The last movie has a 2.39:1 aspect ratio. If that's how they are labeled on the box, they are simply mislabeled.
I can't wait to see these on 4K I wasn't able to get the steelbook but I got the regular case and it looks great as well! I love all these films even kingdom of the crystal skull was good not amazing but good I think its underrated I personally liked it! My favorite of the films would have to be the Last Crusade! There all classics though!

i preordered mine months ago from BB, and it didn't ship until Monday, so i won't be getting my copy until Thursday :( Can't wait, Raiders is one of my fav movies of all time.
I ORDERED MY 4K, and still not arrived. I usually buy from BEST BUY, as I am a reward member since 2009, and always -ah, mostly- buy from Best Buy, BUT, found the 4k box set "cheaper" at another vendor ($35 dollars cheaper) for regular 4K (the one with extras and bluray discs). IF steelbook at Best Buy was same price AND included the bluray discs and the extras, would have bought at Best Buy of course. BUT heard there is a shortage currently with the regular 4K set I ordered (not enough printed), so now I wait.
Maybe they used that cheap case that holds the steel books because a 5th Indiana Jones in the making. TEMPLE did get a work over it doesn't look too black like the bluray. They pumped up the sound too. In LAST CRUSADE that double saw scene now looks real unlike before. Only beef I have is the Marion bar scene looked too dark.
I don't care about steel books. I only care about them for the alternate artwork. They can get bent up to easily. Atmos is a big reason for me even though I still need to upgrade to Atmos but I will soon. I'm Gonna wait for sail.

I saw SKULL at the movies and I thought it was up there with RAIDERS. Then when I got it in bluray I felt like this is not a good movie. Now when I watched it in 4k I feel this is not a good movie. Too much cgi and too much indoor shooting instead of outside for outside scenes.
@@chicovoylez3216 that’s a problem with sequels and remakes of older movies - newer digital cameras and cgi just can’t capture the same look as film could. I saw a 35mm print of Lawrence of Arabia and 2001 A Space Odyssey in Chicago a feed years back. I felt the cold of space and the sand of the desert on my face in a way digital can never replicate without looking fake af.
Not that Jones, the other Jones. Got my collection on Monday (June 7) wasn’t happy with the outer box. Interestingly the difference between the UK and US versions is we actually got the standard Blu-rays bundled in (movies) where obviously you guys in the US didn’t.

The artwork looks awful, packaging below standard cheaply done, I was expecting more.., well if you don't own blu-rays then no brainer..get 4K..pay premium and enjoy product as much as you can.
Box set is trash. boring as hell and for 100 bucks not a chance in hell. Not to mention 5th installment coming out so I'm sure another nox set be out. I'm not a fan of all the white steelbooks. Feel very lazy effort on these. Could of done much much better job for 100 bucks and nobody cares about 4th instalment.

Crystal Skull get a bad reputation but is still a good film many of the other films still have many silly moments but are great
People didn't like all that Alien crap and the fact Harrison Ford is way too old to be playing Indy now

The use of pristine white seems an odd choice to me. Surely a jungle motif or something would be a lot more thematic.

Bought this boxset the other day only had a quick look at Raiders. The gold fertility idol at the start looked superb!
loved seeing them paramount plus and great to own them now in 4K some of my favourite classic adventure movies

Gotta be willing to wait. I just got the steelbook set brand-new from eBay for $60. Also included the digital codes that worked just fine.
I picked up the Best Buy steelbooks. This is a no brainer. Best 4K release in 2021 so far.

Yeah he has a deeper pinch in Raiders, the most relaxed in Temple & relaxed in Crusade.

Way to expensive at over $100 when they dont even include blurays of the movies. Here in the uk we get 9 discs which have the blurays included
If they were remastered that’s one thing, but the Blu-ray are the same that’s been out forever so no big loss.
