Finally, we’ve made it to the bathroom build! From the beginning we knew we wanted to have a shower curtain extension that would make showering inside the van easier, but for now we’ve left that extension out until we can properly test the space and shower pan. A number of our curtain ideas look exciting on paper, but sometimes they end up not being very practical.
In this Part 1 of 2 we show you the creation of the shower pan, the entire furniture layout of the passenger side of the van, and provide our 2nd to last van build update! THE ULTIMATE VAN BUILD IS FINALLY DONE!

At the start of this vanlife build, our goal was to challenge ourselves to build an over-the-top campervan with no imagination limits, just to see what we could come up with. We built this tiny home in phases, periodically taking months away from the van build to focus on other projects. I do NOT suggest this approach. The more time you have on a project, or the more it stretches, the more ideas you have, and wow simple concepts can quickly turn complicated! Lucky for us, this tiny home on wheels has turned out way better than we could have ever imagined!

Hi Ladi, I am a laser service engineer in Australia, please be careful when using that laser, stray reflections from scrap in the bin below can reflect up and it is so powerful it can blind you for up to 1km from the source. Wear correct green safety goggles and keep bystanders out of the room while cutting. The frequency of this laser is such that it passes through your eye and burns your retina, there is no repair for that. In Australia these lasers must be fully enclosed . Be safe, I want to continue to enjoy your content for the future. 😊
You know what I love most about y'all builds? The community aspect of them. Like the shower pan... Ends up with 5-6 folks peeking in and giving input. I think that's a part of the culture?🤷♀️i don't know but i love it!

If the urine gets diverted to the gray water tank, that gray water tank is a black water tank. That said, that OGO toilet looks pretty darn interesting. Composting is definitely the way to go, but that looks very compact and attractive and yes, the ability to divert urine via a sewage pipe instead of constantly carrying out the urine tank is a great feature. Gonna have to make a note of that one.
makes a huge difference, prob one of our fav features! From my understanding (from my overlanding tour leader days) is that urine ONLY (not poop, toilet paper, etc.) into a tank is still grey water. Not only does it get diluted, but it is also sterile. Idk maybe that's outdated now, but dumping a black water tank and dumping a grey water are very different experiences, and our dump process is that of grey water
What you two have accomplished with this van, the workshop and the cabin is amazing.
A very impressive build. But Ladi, when using the router for the arm rest, please clamp the piece next time, it could be really dangerous if the router is running into a nail or knothole, the work piece could kickback or you loose control on the router. And when working with epoxy you should use an appropriate mask. Just take some care... I want to see more videos in future. All the best for you.

Getting 2 weeks from that CNC company to get the knowledge from their employee is great! I remember watching the video where you guys were buying it and were skeptical. That will be extremely useful for the Ebike business!
It would be nice to see a detailed and in-depth tour of the van in a single video when it's fully finished, like i remember Ladi saying that he would bring some tools from the workshop in the van, what tools? Do the arm rest for the chair folds or the idea got scrapped? Did you guys find any use for that space between the kitchen and the chair that was an 'open concept'?

I would think that the fiberglassing was one of the easiest things that you did. The hardest parts were making the mold and trying to get it to release from the mold. If you don't like the color, you can gel coat it whatever color you like.
Will you only have hot water after driving?

Thanks a lot! We have three options for hot water. Engine heat, 48V heating spiral and air diesel heater.

I'm visiting Prague at the end this month - out of curiosity I looked up the location for your shop. My wife's family is from somewhat close in Hrubá Voda. We visited the area 20 years ago with her grandmother. The countryside was gorgious. We are sticking to areas around Prague, but still looking forward to seeing what's changed and what is the same.

Not sure, about fiberglass (not sure as in how rigid or wiry it is) , but when you are casting or forging something out of steel alloy, you need your cast (tool) to have a bit of an angle (like 2%) on vertical sides. Otherwise you can get it out.

Yay! I chose the OGO too! Although I have to empty the pee jug. I've had it for 6 months and am very satisfied with it.

On the one hand I'm super stoked and happy for you guys to finally get to use your van in anger as it were .

Hey guys, I’m really interested in your toilet! One question though - you said you’re plumbing the urine into your grey tank. Doesn’t that make it a black tank? I’ve seen a few grey waste dumps on sites that have signs saying absolutely no toilet waste so how do you get on with dumping it? Thanks.

Tried the OGO for 2 years and let me say that. It’s HARD to clean. And you will need to clean it very deeply min. every 2 months. And during cleaning, parts will break (like the slider thing for the poop) So get your 3d Printer ready

Ladi and Margaret. Travel sounds like something good to add to the existing mix. I can’t imagine Ladi suddenly ending his creative workshop videos, and the bike videos must stay. Plus, now we have more workshop characters to get to know…But Ladi and Margaret doing Ladi-and-Margaret things is the heart and soul of this channel.
Now that I consider it: The Czech Republic villages and culture seems like some really interesting youtube content. You’d both bring a very exclusive/perspective on traveling around the country/nearby countries. Just a thought.

Sad to see that this is really the end of an era, an era where you did everything yourselves. So far you came up with amazing ideas and now buying an expensive toilet (Sorry not buying since ogo is a sponsor i guess)? Where is your creativeness? Are you tired of this build? Now at the finish line you start using other people to build your van (not just expert’s help like so far). Why? 😐
This build is very complex and takes forever for one or two people to build. We are happy purchasing products that make our lives easier, we have no need making a toilet ourselves. Happy to be out this season, finally!!!
