I hate those click bait videos on UA-cam done by somebody who just wants some money. This is done by an actual professional without horrible music playing in the background. Stay True Hiro
Load Pistachio oranges are called oranges despite of their yellow colour. Why? When oranges was named the colour we today call yellow was called orange. May be a similar story with the cabbage
MrKiddGames hahahaha, clearly I must be drunk. what I meant to say was that we didn't have a name for the colour orange when oranges was introduced to the west. we named the colour after the fruit, not the other way around. it's almost what I said originally. No? No.. I agree. Never mind me, I'm leaving now.
I generally use heel of knife to cut unless it is for minute details work. Enjoyed how he is using the tip throughout the video; no trash talk and bullshit, only demonstrated skills
Just got off work, working the dinner shift, back of house of course. Got home, washed, dried, and did some touch up maintenance on both of the knives I used tonight. Took a shower, got dressed then into bed, and couldn't fall asleep. Kept thinking about working the line and all the little things that happened before, during, and after dinner service. Then I watched this, and all those thoughts stopped and now my mind is at peace for tonight. Thanks. 😎👌
This is fantastic guys, I've been a fan for a long time now, and I really hope all the new people seeing this video go and watch the older videos. The camera guy and Hiro both have a really nice personality and have a professional attitude towards the production of their meals but still manage to keep it fun with some great video ideas. I recommend this channel 11/10 in every way (even if you don't like fish as there are still plenty of videos to entertain you)
That's a pretty thin yanagi. Traditionalists would say that veg prep should be done with an usuba or kiritsuke for traditional Japanese style blades. I would prefer my kiritsuke over a yanagi for veg prep but Chef Hiro seems most comfortable with a yanagi-ba.
Roll out the radish carpet! So much focus, too - Awesome!! I always find that green onions require a really sharp edge because of how fibrous they are. And, those red onions would've had me ballin'. haha
This is an amazing video I laugh so bad from the experts who said that a yanagiba it’s just for fish. Perfect cutting. Amazing humble chef right here Hiroyuki Terada👍
This video has been helping me sleep! Thank you so much. I found this channel by accident because I love knife trick videos and the like and I found the cucumber video and watched many others since I have subscribed. This ASMR takes the cake! Or should I say... takes the veggies!
I was waiting for one of these videos. I just love your cutting skills. Keep up the good work Hiro. I've been binge watching your videos since I first discovered you about 2 weeks ago.
I've been watching your videos since I watched your first fast precise cutting skills video 5 years ago. I now work in a kitchen on Saturdays just because I wanted a taste of the Hiro life. Any time I'm breaking down anything with a knife, I subconsciously think to myself, "How would Hiro do it?"
I love everything about Japanese knives, I bought a yanagiba the other day and I'm looking forward to gliding her through some fish as well as chopping veggies like this.
if you watch as Hiro cuts with the knife, you can see how the tips of his fingers are pointed inward so that the side of the blade is only ever touching his knuckles
OMG YAAASSSSSS since when the hell did you start making ASMR?!?! My ultimate dream: a massage with headphones spewing ASMR, and a plate full of delicious sushi on the side that I could be able to reach over for a piece of... This has to fucking happen. Who's with me?!?
Amazing, I was staring at the final cut and could not shut my mouth... And then I just wondered how many thousands of times did he have to cut himself until he became capable of doing such a beautiful thing...
Just beautiful¡¡¡¡¡ Hiro when you give us a master class on how to handle the knife, locate our fingers and how to exercise and train different cuts. Tell us the story of your life in Japorn and USA through your different used knives. :)
never have people been so immersed in prep. as always your skill amazes me Hiro. It doesn't look like I'll be making it down for valentine's day, the money just isn't there sadly, but I'm definitely coming some day.
I hate those click bait videos on UA-cam done by somebody who just wants some money. This is done by an actual professional without horrible music playing in the background. Stay True Hiro

"hey lets call it red cabbage"
Load Pistachio oranges are called oranges despite of their yellow colour. Why? When oranges was named the colour we today call yellow was called orange. May be a similar story with the cabbage
rousp1 what kind of oranges are you eating that are yellow? That's called a lemon.
MrKiddGames hahahaha, clearly I must be drunk. what I meant to say was that we didn't have a name for the colour orange when oranges was introduced to the west. we named the colour after the fruit, not the other way around. it's almost what I said originally. it depends on the acidity of the soil apparently.
Load Pistachio Well get this it makes water BLUE and it's named RED what does BLUE and RED give? Purple
Who else feels very powerful when they hold a very sharp knife, I feel like I can slice the earth

Add the words "oddly satisfying" in the title and this will have a million views in no time lol
Und der Teufel der lacht nur dazu! Damn, got em.

Natalie Kay what if he added "dog doo doo on a stick"? Would he get a million views?

I don't understand how it's "oddly" satisfying. Can it not just be satisfying?
This was well done professionally. I'd say they're all good demonstrations to knife handling; that's the satisfying part.
This video is a cut above.
Dwayne Wladyka 8/10 pun m80
THEY FINALLY MADE THE RELAXING SATISFYING CUTTING MONTAGE.
Beautiful knives and even better work. Very impressed with all of Hiro's methods, as usual. Hope he's enjoying that steel.

It’s so satisfying because you know he can cook such excellent food
Awesome addition to the channel. I never would have thought you guys would put out a video like this. Nice.
Roll out the radish carpet! So much focus, too - Awesome!!
I always find that green onions require a really sharp edge because of how fibrous they are. And, those red onions would've had me ballin'. haha
going to start putting this video on every night to fall asleep to. so relaxing especially with no talking.

Good and sharp knives combined with cutting skill.
I liked that Hiro showed us a few garnishes too! :)
This is an amazing video I laugh so bad from the experts who said that a yanagiba it’s just for fish. Perfect cutting. Amazing humble chef right here Hiroyuki Terada👍

I love this thank you I have been sick and this really helps sooth me.
My dream came true - thanks a lot Hiro ^^
Coming to your restaurant for spring break, stock up on "robsters"
I love everything about Japanese knives, I bought a yanagiba the other day and I'm looking forward to gliding her through some fish as well as chopping veggies like this.
love it. 1 of my favorite things to watch you do. besides cooking of course...
Looool. I'm craving coleslaw after watching him cut cabbage
OMG THANK YOU! I always ask you to make asmr! 😍😍😍 you the best Hiro
Omg yes!!! I requested this like last year😍😍❤❤❤ thank you!!
The sharper the blade the better it'll go through my finger. I screw up all the time.
Less dangerous to cut yourself with a sharp knife than a jagged or blunt knife at least. A lot easier to heal and less likely to leave a scar.
insertaghere The knives we used were some cutco brand and I have actual scars on my finger.
Do they have "teeth" or just a plain edge? Teeth leave scars more often
insertaghere it's just straight. I usually cut strawberries and canteloupe, and my finger.
if you watch as Hiro cuts with the knife, you can see how the tips of his fingers are pointed inward so that the side of the blade is only ever touching his knuckles
I think this is what I've been waiting for all year
Best ASMR video ever. Period. We're done.
Very satisfying video, great knife skills!
Awesome love your videos hiro! Especially the graphic and the will it sushi ones.

*Didn't cut enough vegetables at work*
*Opens Hiro's ASMR*
Wow! Great knife techniques!
This was really cool to watch thanks guys
Love ASMR, and love your channel. As always love the content. However this one has a special place for me, it being asmr.
Hiro is so talented and awesome.
My favorite color is dark indigo, you know, like red cabbage.
Great video as always Hiro love seeing your videos in my list
Yea, we need more of this, keep the good work going,,,
The difference between a sharp and dull knife is magical.
This reminds of how I found the channel. The first video I saw from this channel was the fast precise knife skills from the how to make sushi series.
14:00 minutes in is my favorite new thing. Going to go buy a cucumber tomorrow and sharpen the old blade.
Holy crap. I bet Hiro could shave his face with that knife. Mans got skill!😦
Beard not face
Best ASMR video out there

This is so soothing.
About time a video was posted where the dude behind the camera shuts the hell up, I like it.
There is something relaxing about this for some odd reason.

never have people been so immersed in prep. as always your skill amazes me Hiro. It doesn't look like I'll be making it down for valentine's day, the money just isn't there sadly, but I'm definitely coming some day.
Such amazing knife skills. I would have badly injured myself a number of times trying this.
