I’ve said it already in previous comments over and over, but it’s assuring to see every little detail of this house make even huge differences to the final product (if you will). It’s helps me to see that the little things I accomplish in my life will contribute even majorly to the overall and often overwhelming goals I set for myself.
I don’t know if you plan on keeping the temporary plywood skylights after the originals are restored. But it’s funny to think that what was a cheap, though beautiful, fix might one day in a hundred years or so be a treasure to future curators of this place. Wow! ANTIQUE plywood from the 2020s!! Let’s make this an art piece in the main lounge. And restore the paintwork to preserve it for future generations!!!
Love how a little team is forming. This channel will be like the Pethericks in no time.

Thanks for being a faithful follower and for all your thoughtful comments. This one made me chuckle because all I could think of was "boy, I hope it doesn't take us a hundred years to get that stai ed glass fixed." But seriously, big things can be accomplished in small steps.

Our temporary fixes may be here for the next decade so we thought it was worth the effort to pretty things up a bit.

Great video. What amazing teamwork. It looks great now, but it will look so amazing when the stained glass is all repaired, and the sunlight shines through it again... someday.
It will also be interesting to see what you guys will do regarding lighting. It would also be so cool if the stained glass was lit up at night. All in time, I'm sure. Keep up the excellent work. 😁

I think you are definitely right that there needs to be some good lighting above these laylights so they can look good day and night. Even in the day the light is very uneven.

Those temporary skylights are wonderful in their own right. Well done.
The sanctuary ceiling of a church that I used to attend has a complete sanctuary ceiling full of green stained glass. (It also has a three-story Jesus-the-Good-Shepherd stained glass window.) At the time, I didn’t understand why the ceiling was that way (except for beauty), as I didn’t know anything about heating and cooling older larger buildings. As my husband played custodian for a few years there, I learned about boilers, ventilation, and even stained glass from those who do that for a living. I have great appreciation for the ingenuity of those who came up with such things.

That church sounds beautiful. So much of the design of this house is about functionality yet it's all integrated in the design and you would never know just by looking.

So its a two Heather size shower, plenty roomy. 👍 Will you be fitting a fan light above the bathroom door, just to let natural light in? (you dont need it to open and keep the steam inside) The painting looks great in place, we had a sneak peek in a prior video 2x👍

I really wanted a window above the door, but with the ceiling furred down, there is no room. I may put a window in the wall for natural light like the Shakers did.
