I've heard other dissidents in anthropology talking about how it's as bad if not worse in Australia regarding the Aboriginals. Which could have gotten even more absurd if not stopped by the Australian referendum some time ago, that basically would have required a farmer building a fence to hire an Aboriginal "expert" to approve them digging a 5 feet deep hole for a fence, or tilling the soil.
27:08 as far as I know, my earliest ancestors in this country (Norway) arrived here about 12,000 years ago, whereas the Sámi got here about 2,500 years ago. They're only considered indigenous because they look, dress and sing (yoik) funny and seem *less* European. Because of course Europeans don't have that "indigenous" flava to them.
This is the first time Illegitimate Scholar managed to get trough a whole conversation without reminding everyone that he is Irish. Can someone check on him? Is everything ok at home?
Interesting (and frustrating) stuff.. but good to see Iligitmate Scholar continue to trek on in the woke occupied fields of Humanities. At one point I had a strong academic interest in Human Evolution and Genetics but I was dissuaded by the woke bs and general academia bs.. You're braver than me 🫡. I remember from following David Reichs research (and book) that there were some issues with studying indiginois American genetics.. but sounds like things have taken a turn for the worse. But good luck to you 🙏
27:37 Leif Eiriksson arrived in America around the year 1000 (quite probably precisely the year 1000), not to fact check you over-much Ill Scholar ;) I just take a more than average interest in Norwegian history.
Thanks for having me on! Really glad to have this information out to a larger audience
38:50 "He discovered America is what he did! He was a brave Italian explorer! And in this house, Christopher Columbus is a hero, end of story!"

Always enlightening to have based academics making content in our sphere

Weird, I've seen many and can't recall hearing him say that. Though I must have, then.
