      The defense isn’t aloud to do very much anymore I miss when the offense would get attention but you’d also see a lot of vicious hits by the defense. You don’t see fun defense anymore.

      and McMahon's paying for it with most likely CTE. He has the symptoms, but sadly to really diagnose the disease you have to die and for Jim McMahon when he does die I wouldn't be shocked to see his family give his brain to researchers to confirm he has CTE,

      I'm sure there were others talking about it too, I remember. I was just saying, How in hell did they let McMahon come back in TWICE after getting a CONCUSSION?! I thought they had the concussion protocol by then, I guess not. This must be before that Will Smith movie came out, the NFL was embarrassed by that.

      I think that he may be my favourite Giants' running back, at least of that era. He had everything it took to be an all-time great, including a great team to let him shine. Having Meggett and Anderson as a supporting cast, who are pro-bowlers themselves, does not hurt. That team was stacked. Great memories.

      I remember those games against Dallas where he was going head to head with emmitt. I thought he was right up there. It killed me when he came back from injury in the 97 playoff game against Minnesota. Scored a td and then we lose after botching the onside kick. If memory serves me correct. I believe that was his last game but I could be wrong.

    This 93 Giant team was interesting since it overlapped with Strahan's era with Simms and LT playing their last game and Strahan, Sehorn(not sure if he got drafted in 93 or 94), Armstead, Keith Hamilton, all in their first or second season with the team.

    Brutally cold day. The last hurrah at home for LT and Simms. McMahon got brutally hit several times and a couple of those caused lasting damage. Madden makes a point about concussions and not letting players play through them after one of the McMahon hits that was way ahead of its time

      Had the nfl europe league not been in trouble and suspended for the 93 and 94 seasons. They could have sent Sean Salisbury there to get further developed and resign him him for a few more years. But they had no choice but to go after Jim Mcmohn . And then trade for Warren Moon after. I though Sean Salirsbury could have been a good QB but neede some developing.

    This is awesome. This is the earliest Giants playoff game I actually remember watching (I was 6 years old). I remember literally crying at halftime because the Giants were losing (the period of my life I’d literally cry every time they lost lol). The funny thing is I have a distinct memory of Carter’s TD catch and me crying lol but don’t have distinct memory/vision of the 2nd half comeback- I guess I’m just a pessimist Lmao. I totally didn’t realize this was LT’s last home game? So LT’s last home game was Strahan’s 1st playoff game- interesting! I LOVE revisiting these old games!!

    without seeding priority for division winners, the Giants would have had the #2 seed in the NFC and a first round bye in 1993, which could have set up a battle between NFC East rivals in the CCG more easily
    as it happened, #6 Green Bay, in their first playoff appearance since 1982, and first with Brett Favre as QB, did defeat division rivals Detroit the day before this game
    this meant the winner of this game would go to San Francisco in the next round
    the Giants did win this game, but could not get past Steve Young and the 49ers, thus setting up the second of 3 49ers-Cowboys CCGs in a row
    only once did a team that should have had the #2 seed but did not because they didn't win their division met their top-seeded division rival in the CCG: 1999 Titans at Jaguars, which saw the Titans beat their rivals for the third time that season; Jacksonville beat everyone else on their schedule

    Dan Reeves took a Giants team that should've finished .500 and led them to an 11-5 record and a Wild Card slot. I remember how terrible the 90s Giants were, and it's a miracle the Giants worst season was 5-11 under Reeves tenure. Giants fans now are trying to guess how many years it will take to get to 5-11. Dan Reeves doesn't get enough credit for the job he did with the roster he had.

    Great game. Rodney Hampton and big blue Oline took over in the second half. I loved Pat Summerall openly rooting for the Gmen. Had to feel for McMahon, that was brutal from Hamilton. Minny backup Salisbury actually played really well but the receivers let him down, Dennis Green should have kept him in the game. Fun one through the final seconds.

    They still were only awarded one point. But this was the day before the 2 point conversion. But still the fact that he only ran it in......they still got a point is kind if strange.

    Now on that 4th & 3 for Minnesota with 26 seconds remaining in the 3rd quarter, the Giants should have been called for unnecessary roughness on Jessie Armstead. The ball was already past Steve Jordan's hands when Armstead hit Jordan helmet-to-helmet. Nowadays of course, that probably would have been called.

    Giants had to kick off to start the game & Giants had to kick off again to start the 2nd half because at the coin toss to start the game, the Giants said they wanted to kick instead of saying the wanted to defer

    • @SECRETARIATguy224
      @SECRETARIATguy224 2 місяці тому

      That's because back then you couldn't defer in the NFL. If you won the toss you could either receive or kick. If you chose to kick you got to choose which way you wanted to kick [in other words you could pick what goal to defend]. To start the 3rd quarter the team that lost the toss got the same exact choice: to kick or receive.

    Wait a minute
    The Giants kicked off to start the game......
    Then they kicked off to start the second half??????
    How is this possible.
    You see once again ......
    This is WHYY a situation exists that totally really proves WHYY people have so many sufferings from the Nelson Mandela effect. And the reason I'm ranting so much is because I was certain there was a football video game I'd play where I'd sometimes either receive to start the game and at the start of the 2nd half.....or vice versa.....being I'd kick off to start the game and also kick off to start the second half.

    • @SECRETARIATguy224
      @SECRETARIATguy224 2 місяці тому

      It's because you don't know the rules that the NFL went by _at that time_ . . . for most of NFL history, there was _no option_ to defer if you won the toss. If you won the toss you could either receive or kick. Then the team that lost the toss would get the same choice to start the 2nd half.
